I feel people are being taken advantage of when being banned from halo5 due to poor quality internet.
it doesn’t matter if 343 made a silent announcement before release about this rule, they should make this requirement a bold statement on the back cover of the video game. “you will get penalized if poor internet connection causes multiplayer disconnections!”.
I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure that most multiplayer FPSes do this. Crappy internet connection is a problem for everyone if there is someone with crap connection (or live in Mexico (not racist just a fact that Mexico has -Yoink- internet)). People can abuse their bad internet connection. Also, how do you think people stay connected through the game? Through McDonald’s WiFi? It’s clearly a requirement to have a decent online connection before playing an online game. And how are people getting taken advantage of? Does it look like 343 wants less people to play their game?
Think before you post.

No! it is tied to the isp, it is a fair act to not discriminate against certain areas in the US without any written guidelines for internet requirement. you people tend to blame the gamers that spent quality money to play halo5 when the fault is coming from their ISP + Halo developers. They must stress test there product for online multiplayer quality; evidently this process is not followed through correctly, and to add fuel to the flame, you blame the victims (people with lagging issues). 343 would never admit to this nonsense you are trying to explain here! Now, think before you post.

So wait, it’s 343’s fault for people’s crappy internet? Nothing you say is making any sense. Stress tests have absolutely nothing to do with internet connection, stress tests are there to make sure the game works ffs. If stress tests were like what your saying they are, then 343 must’ve went all around the world testing internet connection. People, with crap internet, who spend their hard-earned money for Halo 5, fully aware that you need a decent online connection for multiplayer and what not, should not be complaining of a problem they should have been fully aware of.
In short, as I can see, you are mad because of a problem that is literally ever so obvious, that only stupid people can’t see.
Well maybe if they didn’t make everything online only and gave people offline options, this wouldn’t be as big a problem.

When you sign up to Xbox live it clearly states the minimum speed required to use the service is 2MB, anything above this is fine. If there is a problem it could be due to your isp, it could be the azure servers cannot handle games, it could be the crappy multiplayer code 343 are using, it could be all of those things combined or it could be something else entirely. But if you have over 2MB you shouldn’t really be having any problems. (And let’s be honest I don’t think there is an isp on the planet that offers 2MB as its lowest tier broadband)
My internet sucks, dl speeds in the kb/s usually, but I almost never have a problem playing h5 online.

You’re lucky my brother in law has just over 2MB and his connection is terrible, it must be something to do with the isp and how they handle your connection.
I’ve found that broadband has been better for playing games than fiber has for its connection. Fiber used to disconnect me 50% of the time, then i downgraded to broadband and my disconnects are less than 1%

The ban rules were announced prior to the games launch. Any failure in due diligence is a failure on your part. As you are very well aware, ban related traffic goes in the ban thread.

First of all, are you an undercover official from 343? If so, answer this: Since my topic is about internet requirements to enjoy Halo5 multiplayer, are you saying game lag is directly related to being banned? Please note if you are not legitimately from 343 you don’t have to answer this question because I will assume to discredit the nonsense you are trying to convey. I think you are but you refuse to wear your employee name tag, so that you can come here and point blame at our ISP to protect your assets. come clean comedy because you have been chasing every single post related to this topic, yet you tend to disappear when legitimate issues arise; Im on to you now. tell me comedy are you an employee or are you faking?
Just to chime in: 343s servers do indeed have issues, the last 3 weeks have shown it. Even then tho so many people try to slip by quits or intentional disconnects or they do downplay their internet. Being how we are on dedicated servers, all players in game share the same server. My question now, is it on 343s server if only one player disconnects but the rest stay with no issues? What about if just one player is rubber banding but no one else is? Do you blame 343s server? That’s where I think many fail to see it, it is absolutely your connection if just one player disconnects but the rest stay. Aside from this, if you’re a foreign player you’ll get the shafted simply cuz 343 doesn’t put much focus on outside(meaning outside of the U.S.) server support.
my biggest question for 343 has always been why there has never been a server downtime. If you ever play mmos, or even the bigger dedicated servers, the devs generally do server maintenance at least once a month, I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen 343 do this or even mention server maintenance. It could be they just do it while people are on it, I don’t know.

I don’t work for 343 and have never claimed such. As for why this is ban related. Read the part of your original post you highlighted. What I’ve stated is true, any attempt to deflect from my point is futile.

You expressed a good point. Although meeting the minimum 2mb internet requirements, some people do have less than great internet quality. neither Microsoft nor 343i has given us any rules beyond the 2mb internet requirement, therefore I feel it would be unfair to penalize anyone beyond that matter based of the performance of their internet quality.

Not just the isp but are you on wireless or wired also is a factor, is the router on the same floor, is the router a cheap PoS and is the modem itself any good.
