I recently picked up Halo Reach from the MCC and I’ve been having this really, really weird issue.
Everytime I go to join a game of some sort with a friend or by myself, I’ll have this odd issue that’ll occur more often then not. Right as I’m loading into the game (when the screen is saying connecting to game, etc.) my internet will drop completely. Like everything goes down - I have no connection to the internet what so ever for about a solid minute - then I disconnect from the game I’m trying to join.
First time I thought it was a mere coincidence, then it happened a second time, a third time, and now a fourth time. Also just to get this out of the way…
No, nothing is wrong with my internet. My internet is working perfectly fine and I have a very, very good ISP. (Spectrum, on fiber optic).
When I go and check my router for when this happens - it’s still saying I have an internet connection, but my PC does not.
This ONLY happens with Halo Reach and nothing else and I’ve seen nothing like it.
I’ve tried…
Restarting my PC.
Restarting my Router.
I haven’t tried much as I don’t know how to exactly approach this situation as it happens randomly (But it happens a lot. I’ve played maybe 6-8 games in total while I’ve disconnected and lost internet to those 4).
This is definitely something at the fault of the game, Xbox Live, or Microsoft. As this quite literally has never happened before on anything else.
Hopefully I can get some help back because it’s making the game and using my PC unplayable. Thanks.
Ironically, this only seems to happen more often with Spectrum users (including myself and a friend who also has Spectrum on FO) would love either a fix or an explanation as to why its happening, I’ve seen another topic that also claims to have Spectrum and this continually happens to them while their friends with different ISPs seem to have no problem playing.
I literally registered an account so I could reply to this because I’m having the same issues. My boyfriend and I have been playing lately, in the same house, on two separate computers on the same internet. Both plugged into the Ethernet cable and I currently have the best internet my provider offers.
just last night we were trying to play and each time we started loading into a game, I’d get a connection failure. This happened five times in a row. When I invited him to a party instead, he was the one who lost connection.
started up the game just now and as we start loading into the first game of the day, low and behold I get a connection failure again.
It gives me at least some solace knowing it’s not just me but I’d really like a fix to this too because I didn’t pay 50$ for this game to just sit and twiddle my thumbs for 20 minutes at a time while I wait for my boyfriend to finish the game because if he leaves he gets a penalty and honestly no one wants that.
