We already know Halo Infinite will be a cross-gen game releasing on Xbox One and Xbox Scarlett alike. So my question is if both platforms are going to get the exact same version of the game with some technical and graphical tweaks through software settings or if there will be two different versions of the game; the standard one for next gen and a watered down version for the old generation on Xbox One? I’m wondering this because i was thinking on getting an Xbox One X but wouldn’t like to end getting an inferior experience. So should i better wait and get an Xbox Scarlett instead? What do you think?
There would indefinitely be graphical tweaks, so I would say you’d prolly get some sort of watered down version due to graphical tweaks. Not watered down to the point of a potato compared to the Scarlett’s version, but watered down.
However, I would say you’re better off saving for the Scarlett. You have the next-gen of consoles coming up in a year, so it doesn’t really seem too right to grab a current-gen console with the next-gen being so close.
I don’t see them making a game with any differences between consoles other than graphical settings. That’s how most games handled the situation back in the 360/One gen change, otherwise people would get pretty mad for getting the “lesser” version at the same price.
It’ll just be a graphics, and how many things can be on-screen at once, thing. It’ll run fine on the Xbox One. Maybe akin to Halo 5: Guardians’ level. But it’ll look it’s best on Scarlett (excluding PC).
