Much like the PREFECT Armor, the HELLCAT Armor Variant was based off ancient combat armor. But, unlike the aforementioned-Forerunner-based design, HELLCAT is based off of ancient Human combat skins, as evidenced by its descriptions and the similarities between the armor and the armor worn by Ancient Humans as shown in the Halo 4 Terminals.
