Interesting, Fan-Made Armor Redesign

Halo 5 follows a very particular art-style in terms of it’s armor. In terms of detail, consistency, color, and saturation. An artist has redone the “Noble” armor with changes that make it easier on the eyes, more recognizable, and provides good explanation for his reason for doing so. Link

“Different TYPES of sections (Hard Armour, undersuit, visor, blackened sections) blend into each other too much due to inconsistent colors.”

“The extra bits of detail look good in a still image, but in gameplay, those details disrupt “facial recognition” of helmets. It’s just like looking at someone else’s face - the identity or emotions of a face are identified by VERY SIMPLE, large sections of a face - any extra details distracts you and kills any identity.”

“Also, H5 encounters tend to be at a longer distance and with more external visual distractions than previous games, so the armor of other players becomes unrecognizable.”

I think it’s interesting, really. I never really thought about it, but in a way, Halo 5’s armor does bother me a little bit, with the detail. Something about the cleaned-up version is much more appealing to my eyes. I wanted to get an opinion from you guys, so what do you think?
