Interest In Restarting the Drop Shock Brigade

Hello everyone! My name is DSB Crow, as it pertains to the Dropshock Brigade (DSB) I was known as DSB Splinter.

For anyone who doesn’t know but maybe interested, DSB was a “milsim” competitive Halo gaming clan back in the Reach days.

I’m not exactly looking to return DSB to the hay days, even though that would be super sweet, but after a hiatus from Halo, I’m back and missing the commraderie and organization of clans.

Now, I can’t put anything together like Vitamin did, website wise, but it’s a new day, who wants to waste time on websites when you can game instead?

Personally, I play a few times per week, usually late into the night on weekends. But, either way, I’m married with 2 kids so I have priorities and responsibilities outside gaming (adulting sucks). I play mostly Halo Reach and 4. SWAT and BTB. I try and go for the weekly challenges to get my XP and rank up before Infinite drops, so I’ll dabble in H4 social objective game types for that.
I don’t play much competitive play lists, I’m not very good, but when I do I prefer the H4 and Reach Hardcore modes. I’ll dabble in H3 and Invasion occasionally, but without a sound team its a really big headache.

So, what am I looking to do? I’ll be honest I’ve been out of the clan game for awhile. I don’t know how the “kids” are doing this stuff anymore, but it doesn’t appear to be the way we did it back in the Reach days. I wasn’t a leader in DSB so I’m not looking to elevate myself to one in this organization. I’m just looking for folks who have a shared interest in Halo:MCC and play the objective.
Prior DSB membership is NOT a requirement, it’s encouraged but not required.

This is a ground up rebuild, for those of you who have experience in the organization previously, don’t expect the same thing 100% this time around.

Hey PhyreWyrm, ONI is largely influenced by DSB we aimed to compete with them before Vitamin took the clan down to focus on his career.

I don’t know your Discord to invite you but ex-DSB members and friends still talk from time to time in this Discord
[ https://discord.gg/qCs4bNF6yD ] it is mainly for DSB memories and Vitamin’s personal socials/lfg in the games he plays.

As for what ONI is, it is a paramilitary/military intelligence based role playing clan that is based off of the Office of Naval Intelligence. Our group is mainly composed of adults 21+ so we definitely share the sentiment and understand people who can’t get on all the time. Our ranking system is based on key performance indicators that create a fair progression and easy to read metrics. Our clan is a place for players that want to shoot better, play smarter and become leaders.

Hey, well I’ll bump your post. I was in Dropshock Brigade too for a little while and enjoyed every bit of it. It was a role playing clan, they used a military rank structure and were military organized even with the uniforms and all. I don’t see ONI as too different, the nomenclature of things are just ‘UNSC’ but I completely understand.

The website bit in today’s age is definitely getting old, I am not someone whose against it but nowadays entire clans are ran off Discord or Guilded apps. I get not wanting to use a website anymore, I encourage you look to the same alternatives too and join the DSB Discord, Vitamin R and Darknight along with many others are still active there.

Good luck would definitely like to see DSB again even if it wasn’t ran by Vitamin.

I agree with Shawn. I too was looking for something like DSB but attempting to revive it was something I could never do. Shawn invited me to join ONI and I have had a blast. No it’s not the same as DSB in it’s Hay Days but there are plenty of people to play with.

Ill bump this thread and hope your version of DSB will flourish and remind you of the good old days!
