Interactive Maps yay or nay?

Personally I like maps like Vertigo…that involve shooting or pressing one thing causes the map to respond in a certain way…I’d like to see more of them…not too much though. Like maybe in a team vs team map…there could be 1 or 2 optional bridges off to the side that either team can raise or lower…or even cause a destructable gate to be lowered.

These are just ideas. Please give your feedback. I understand there are both positives and negatives…but I’d like to see your thoughts on this subject…even throw down some of your own ideas.

Of course there should be interactive maps, they bring the map to life and can change the pace of the game to benefit one team. Now of course the effects can’t be game breaking.

This.

Ascension Antenna, Terminal train, Zanzibar turbine and gate, Containment gates, Elongation conveyor belts, Colossus conveyor belts, Relic teleporter button, Gemini motion doors, Ivory Tower elevator, Turf knockdown walkways, and Midships movable platform are some of the many reasons Halo 2 and it’s interactivity was amazing.

Video for anyone that hasn’t played Halo 2

10/10 I support this idea ^.^

Interactive maps? YAY!

Who would say nay?

Of course. But Vertigo’s attempt at being interactive was kinda weak, I thought.

im not big on the hazardous interactive ones like the train from terminal, but i liked the switches for zanziber, longshore, standoff, high ground, containment that open up new pathways into bases if you can infiltrate the enemy base and get to the swtich.

YAY!
I really miss new game altering switches!

Interactive maps in Halo 2 is just one of the main reasons why I love Halo 2’s Multiplayer.

There’s a few reasons why Vertigo is my favorite map in Halo 4.

Not to mention that BF4 and CoD Ghosts got some good excitement for their Multiplayers because of interactive maps.

Interactive maps in Halo 5’s Multiplayer, IMO, is one of the must-haves for its maps.

Longshore was another favorite interactive map from halo 3.

Heck, I consider Anchor 9 somewhat interactive… that zero-g space was a lot of fun, even if it was relatively simple.

Definitely.

The interactivity of the maps in Halo 2 is one of the many things that made the maps in that game so amazing. I was quite sad to see that Reach and Halo 4 had almost no interactivity in their maps, so I hope to see that make a return in the future.

In other words… Hell yes to interactive maps!

Yeah that’s fine. I remember Halo 2 and dropping a stalagmite on top of a wraith and killing it.

Good times :3

Yay!

Yay!

I agree. Things like on Vertigo are nice. They provide a little more strategy to the game, and don’t go overkill.

I’d blame it on the fact that Vertigo itself had terrible geometry and was excessively cluttered. But the actual interactivity was amazingly executed.

Really? That sounds epic! Halo needs more interactive elements in its maps.

PS, you meant to say stalactite. Stalagmites are the ones on the ground
