I was going over my post about The Second Rise of the Insurrection and a thought occured to me…
What if they made a Inssurection based game that told the story of the their war with the UNSC/ONI from their perspective?
Personally I think it would be interesting to witness. Maybe start out as a Civilian who either has something happen to them, hates the UNSC/ONI, or maybe even simply wants independence from the UEG as many have and joins the Insurrection. Then we’d see the story progress from there.
I’ve always wanted to see a Halo game focus on the Innies. With the direction many of the recent Halo books (New Blood, Bad Blood and most recent Halo: Silent Storm focus mainly on UNSC/ONI vs Insurrectionists) it definitely seems like a possibility that the conflict with the Innies will play a bigger role.
Although not so sure about actually playing as a filthy traitorous Innie who deserves nothing but 50 MAC rounds straight through the chest
I don’t think a game will ever go that way, for the simple reason that that would involve human vs human combat, and that’s not the niche this game sits in. It would make a huge difference to the franchise, and I don’t think they’ll cross that line.
I’ll just post what I previously said from another topic that was practically the same.
> Any Halo game whose primary conflict revolves around fighting the Insurrection is inevitably gonna be compared to COD: Infinite Warfare or Titanfall. Their styles and tones are just too similar for the casual gamer to differentiate between.
And trust me, those comparisons are not going to be kind.

Well considering (from your shared post there) that I’m not the only one who is curious about this, maybe some people would be interested in a game like this.
That said…
Who cares if they compare it to CoD, people already do compare those two to one another, lol
If thats the case it would just be another Halo game that showed them up and set the bar higher anyhow.
(Sorry if I came off as a bit abrasive there)
Let’s make it Open world, new weapons, and on Nintendo switch.
Edit: I was kidding about open world, but Nintendo and Xbox friendship should grow. Also, we should make it more against aliens too, not covenant or forerunners, maybe flood, but a whole new enemy. I would love to play that.

COD and Titanfall are against humans. He means as an Innie, not against an Innie. So we could have Aliens and Humans. I hope they don’t put much blood,or it would be M. It should be teen.

That’s the issue I’m talking about. Merely having “some interest” from a small portion of the fanbase isn’t enough to justify the massive amount of money and time needed to make a Triple A game. This is the exact reason a game set during the Forerunner-Flood war (which is a far more popular idea) is unlikely to get made as well. The number of casual players FAR outweigh the hardcore fans. The most I can see happening is a game made in the style of Spartan Assault/Strike.
As for who cares about the game being similar to COD, refer to what I said above about the amount of casuals and the amount of profit the game would lose if a sizeable chunk of them aren’t interested in buying. Remember, they don’t care if Halo is the superior game, only what the current “in” thing is.
TLDR: As much as I would like to see it happen, it does not make financial sense for 343i to make a Triple A title involving fighting as Insurrectionists (or Forerunners).

Haha, good luck with that ever happening.
Speaking of Red Faction, imagine replacing the iconic Sledgehammer with the Corpsemaker, Grinder or Tartarus’ Gavel. I can only imagine the chaos lol.

Yea… Im in agreement with Ikusabe… I don’t think anyone is gonna stop comparing the two…

I have not played Red Faction to be able to voice an honest opinion on it, there for will have to deject to your and/or someones personal experience with it

Well Red Faction already has a ranged weapon named “Grinder” so…

Fine! Don’t put the Halo Grinder in then. Not like the game needs a sledgehammer that creates a gravimetric shockwave everytime you impact something

I don’t have a problem with that, I just thought I’d point that out.
I was being kind of stupid the first time, and I never played Titanfall. But once played it is so dang fun. The only problem is that it is related a lot to COD, and even without wall-running, killing humans in space is fun but an overused 2016 idea which only three games get right (cough, cough, just Titanfall). An insurrection game should have you pick covenant or insurrection or something like that
For the FPS game type, I’d say I wouldn’t care for it. But in an RPG setting, where the player might choose UNSC or Insurrectionist? Could be interesting, particularly in a large/multiple system setting.
