iNSTAnt respawn

So ya, many of you don’t believe it yet but it’s in the Game Informer magazine.

Now you have to press “X” in order to respawn other wise you will stay in the respawn screen. Now I don’t know how to feel about the actual instant respawn. This of course 343 can change for matchmaking so I don’t think it’s anything to rage over but the part about pressing X to respawn is nice.

Why?

Players who are away from their controllers cannot be automatically brought back in. So, no easy kills for the opposing team! Do you guys agree with me on this and thing this is a good feature?
If not, please explain why.
Remember, I’m not asking whether an instant respawn is good or not but the fact the push of a button is required to jump back in.

I get into a fight with player.
Kill player.
Player mashes X, gets a lucky spawn, kills me while my shields are down.
I, rage and post on forum. While being told to adapt.

its a terrible idea, if a opposing team is to good they will wait it out till the end of the game. automatic respawn is esential as it punishes those who decide to go away for a while, but this system its a punishment for the active players, i play invasion alot and if a ally isnt playing i use him as a sacrafise while i do the objective but under this system I will be spawn killed as im the only one working.

I HIGHLY doubt you will rank up from time in the game again. If that’s the case, many people, like me, will not even bother playing another Reach.

I have a feeling this is a step in the wrong direction personally.

Before, a player not only dies, but weakens their team for a few seconds. It may not be much, but 1 extra gun can either make or break a fight. If you’re dead, your team is at a disadvantage and needs to work harder to stay alive in that spot until you come back from a respawn.

Take that away, and it isn’t as bad. And like others have said, the chance of seeing the dude that you weakened on spawn can happen and can result in a kill.

I’m all for faster gameplay, but we shouldn’t kill player responsibility to achieve it.

As for the push button, they may actually make it so that you automatically go back in, regardless if you make a choice, after a certain period of time, or they’ll kick you for being AFK and let a player drop in. :confused:

At least they confirmed it won’t be in objective gametypes, where it would make or break the game.

I like the idea of pushing the button. I don’t like respawning faster than shields can come up.

I can picture this in Infection playlist. Slayer Ok as long as the player you killed respawns away from where he was killed. But I do not see this working in Objective at all and glad they confirmed it will not be in those playlist.
