I bought an Xbox One recently and MCC. I tried to install it from the disc and it needed to download updates and got to 69% but it kept stopping and wouldn’t go further.
I deleted the install and reinstalled, this time I got to 70% but the same problem happened.
I was able to play through Halo CE but Halo 2 said it wasn’t finished installing…
I uninstalled again and turned off the internet.
I reinstalled from the disc and got 100% install! But I can’t play while online.
It seems to have deleted my Halo CE campaign progress, apart from achievements. I was able to play Halo 2 until I connected the Xbox online.
It forced me to install the update as otherwise it won’t open MCC. Now it’s stuck at 33% (for the second time today) and it only has Halo CE and Halo 4 installed fully.
What do I do? This is so annoying!
Installing from disc won’t install everything, as there was a day one update for MCC that included some multiplayer engines that wouldn’t fit on the disc. It’s required if you want to play online. If you’ve already got the disc installed, let the update run and just leave it until it completes. It may look as if it’s stuck, but it will just take its time. Hard resetting during the installation will just reset your progress each time
I ended up shutting down the Xbox completely and then letting it install without playing it at all. But still it’s been on 87% for over a day now. Everything has installed except multiplayer, which is annoying but at least I can play through the campaigns.
I have the same issue the OP is reporting but the update progress isn’t “stuck” it stops completely. I get a message saying “installation stopped” and then nothing. If I install from the disc offline then I can play most of the campaign modes but nothing online. As soon as the internet is back on, the game will not work and wants to update, when I update I get the “installation stopped” error so the game is completely useless.
Microsoft support are no help, neither is Xbox support. They run out of possible solutions quick then default to “contact the developer”
Im having rhe same issue currently. Halo Master Chef Collection won’t install fully and its got me seriously pissed off. It keeps saying “Instalation stopped.” I purchased HMCC for the pirpose of playing online but I still have not had the opportunity to due so after FOUR DAYS messing with it. Its kind of like spawn killing without the sasifaction of revenge. Someone please tell me there is a solution so I can join the fight already.
