Yes, Halo 3 was released before the Install to HDD option, so it wasn’t optimised with the function in mind, however, Halo: Reach & Halo: Anniversary were.

If Halo 3 is installed to your HDD it may cause mulitplayer matchmaking latency. Just a little more lag in multiplayer then normally playing it on the disc.
Installing CEA makes the game 5% better (appearently thats possible after everything already done)by removing the need for missions to laod from the title screen. Pop the disc in hit campaign and select your mission and you’re off. No more loading times long enough for you to make sandwiches.
