Why did I just waste half of my life waiting for Halo 5 to install?
Probably internet connection. I have the fastest wifi out of all of my friends and it took me 4 hours.

if hes got it digitally like i did yea it would take like 4 hours mine took like 7 hours. if he has it on disc the disc based games for xbox one and ps4 from what i understand are just basically boot disks but for the game so he shouldnt need the internet in that case
Hardwire it. Either Ethernet or use the PowerLine Adaptors and you get really good DL speeds.
It’s about 50 GB total, so yeah, it’s a big game.
We knew how big it was a couple months in advance. Did you think 45-50 GB would take an hour to download?
This is just complaining to complain.
I remember the time when I could go out and buy a game and just play it! Literally pop the cartridge or disc in, and it’d just work. These days it’s hours of work!
I bought my Xbox One for Halo MCC. My plan was to go home, unpack it all and spend the evening gaming. How naive was I? I set up the Xbox, set up the network, all seemed ok. Then I had to update the console, turned out that was a few Gbs of data. Waited ages until the Xbox was updated, then I set up my Live subscription. Then finally I popped in the Halo MCC disc…
…and had to install it. After waiting several more minutes/hours, I eagerly went to play it. Nope, have to download a patch for MCC. Are you kidding me? The whole process took most of the evening, I was so annoyed. Modern consoles suck, it now seems to be perfectly acceptable to ship things in a buggy/broken state.

This is just dumb. You understand that, right? The reason you never had to download stuff off of the disc before is because the console, whether it was ps3 or 360, couldn’t handle information beyond what is on the disc.
Fast forward to now, with more computing capability on modern consoles, can take WAY more information than the previous ones, and more than they can fit on that tiny little disk. There is so much info in current gen games that consoles are now able to compute quickly enough to use.
This is just not wanting to understand the basics of data. I wish it could be the same. But I’d MUCH rather have a better game with more content and better graphics and more involved and advanced gameplay than the same stuff we used to get.

You do know that you can still buy games on disc right? If you want to go back to the days of no updates and no patches then I guess the N64 is for you

I have direct connect Internet that tested at 45 mps down and bought th disc and it’s taken 4 hours and I’m only at 84%. I own both Xbone and PS4 and the PS4 blows away this electronic brick called a gaming console. Who in the F. U. C. K wants to waste that much time to play a game? And for the love of god I don’t want to hear the ‘it’s a big game’ excuse. No game ever is worth this.

This.
When I bought My XBOX one and XBOX live, went to set everything up, and was unable to. After one hour and fourty five minutes XBOX support said that the funds I used purchased the live account was in euro’s. I am here in Canada, and had to send them a copy of the receipt to prove it to them that it was purchased here. Then I needed three different e-mails. It took two weeks I then had to down load the game. When I brought my PS4 home, I was playing with in a Half hour. Night and day difference.
