I am new to the Waypoint community, I was hoping to have some insight on Monitors of the website. I am most curious to how they operate as well as their personal feelings about the occupation they presumably volunteered for. May anyone kindly enlighten me upon this intuitive thought?
Monitors are fellow players - like you and me - who dedicate themselves to make the Halo community a better place for all of us.
Do not be afraid of them; some of the Monitors are super chill and love being around others. As long as you respect them, you’ll get on their good side. You might even get the chance to hang out with them.
Fam these monitors are lit.
They’re chill. They crack jokes, reply with constructive feedback, ban you if you REALLY did something wrong.
I believe I already introduced myself to you but nonetheless, Welcome to Waypoint!

I speak for myself, but I’d have to say I operate relatively well.

Im enjoying it so far. I’m still learning the ropes to be honest, but I’ve got good people teaching me how to do the job right.
I operate at a constant 85% maximum efficiency.
I would sum up being a Monitor as this:

I jest, I jest
As above we’re just regular folk like you who have a massive love for Halo and its communities. We were invited by 343 for being helpful in some way. Personally I just want to see Halo continue on, it’s been a huge part of my life for so long.
Being a monitor on Waypoint can be tough but I’ve been loving it so far. It’s great being able to help out the community a little more directly - keeping things clean, moving topics to the right sections, etc. You’re right that it’s a volunteer job - we all do this in our spare time (My train rides to and from work generally include a bit of browsing :P).
Keep it clean - words to live by. If you can stay the right side of the rules, you’ll have no problems

My thoughts on the matter are that it is nice that someone somewhere thought I was making enough of a contribution to the community to ask me to help out. Though it kind of reminds me of my actual job at times and I do get to do this…
.
In case you couldn’t tell, the monitors are very active and are generally perceived as part of the community rather than evil cops who ban the peoples. They’ll often answer any PMs you send them and will generally be nice, even in the process of giving you a warning or banning you.
Also they are all obviously Gif-Lords, particularly snickerdoodle who will blackmail you if you say any other mod is better.
I’ve never seen this many monitors in one thread before, this is scary… But there’s still a few missing the party I see… Let’s see… Tsassi, wulfwoodsins, Sarcasmbully, David j Cobb, Toa freak, (Was it chryos or chaos? Can’t remember lol), and that’s just the ones to my knowledge that are actual monitors, that’s not counting all the community engineers
Not scary at all; I’d be more concerned about those that did not show up to the party…
But that’s why 343 recently added a handful of new Monitors.

It’s a convention. Happens every 40,000 years.
Well, monitors are like the cool police of forums. They’re all pretty cool, and usually like to jump on any assorted “Who’s the best monitor?” thread and such. Stckrboy claims to be the coolest, Snickerdoodle is actually the coolest, Comedyshermit (or Mr. Crabs as I’ve nicknamed him) is pretty cool and chill, and organizes some community events here and there, and Sarcasmbully is just plain scary. Not sure if it’s his name or his profile pic, but he just is. That’s all the mods I’ve bumped into, and they seem to be pretty happy doing what they do (at least from what I’ve seen).

I just came here to tick the box.
I like reading through these monitor based threads and seeing all the cool, funny pictures and GIFs they post in response to the topic.

Not to mention filtering profanity into Yoink.
Good heavens, that’s a lot of Monitors; thank you all for your wonderful insights. Including the most intuitive members keeping Waypoint safe.
The only ones to be afraid of are SEC3, Suicide Mission anyone?
