Insider Requirements - Suggestion

I really question how some of these kids I play against became insiders.
I wish there was some sort of vetting process in picking people.

Maybe by xbox live tenure (couple years) with a clean gamertag that’s never violated any rules?

It seems daily I’ve been coming across toxic people,
whether it’s racist/hate messages in chat or AFK kids who stand still but laugh about it in chat.

I stream all my games so I’ve been screenshotting everything and reporting them accordingly.
What do you guys think of the current selection process? Could it improve?

I don’t really recommend having a requierement such as being part of Xbox for an amount of time because it will limit new halo fans of signing up for the insider program (like me), i am pretty sure they haven’t put any requierements because they don’t really want to search and check all the Halo Insiders profile and there is about 100k+ Insiders if i am not wrong, but i have heard that recently they have being banning a-lot of people that were toxic in chat and just being ruining the experience for the other halo insiders.

Yep easy BAN all Streamers Or what I call The pan handlers and beggars of the gaming industry.

Anybody and everyone who signed up before 6/22 received invites. Statistics is at play here; out of 120K people invited on top of first flight, there are bound to be bad apples…

Maybe grow a thicker skin and just mute people?

The internet isn’t a hugbox designed for emotionally unstable children that lash out at others for saying things they don’t agree with.

A thicker skin for crap like this? Sorry I just can’t mute this.

Let’s not derail the thread, looking for ways 343 can improve/enhance their selection process for the next flight - and maybe also update the chat box with blacklisted words to promote a clean and safe user experience for all.

Limiting it to well known streamers is not the way to go. I don’t understand why you think a dozen or so Streamers should dictate how a game is developed. Or even how you think what I want in a game is the same as what you want. There was over 170,000 invites sent out for this Flight 50,000 first run and 120,000 next run, and yet you think this should be reduced to a few streamers only. You are not as important as you seem to think you are.

The real focus should be on improving the chat box experience.
As much as I would like to see it, I don’t think 343 will implement a insider selection process based on tenure of your account.

You have to admit though, it would weed out some of the bad apples we have right now.
As it is right now anyone can visit the insider url, sign up, and done - they’re in.

Should it be that easy?
I’ve seen kids sign up and that very same day ask “where’s my nameplate?”

Personaly I would like to see it made 10 years plus of Xbox Live Membership this will remove a lot of the screamers and kiddies from the program. Would also put the breaks on people serving a ban for bad behaviour from just making a new account to by pass bans a some what common problem.

But that would only ever work for the Xbox Flights and not for PC as you do not need a live Account to play non Store games on a PC and as MCC is on Steam as well as MS Store ( the bane of PC game players the world over ) No way to weed out the player base unless you use age verification. And I can see that being accepted about as much as a kick in the head by most of the gaming community.

Agreed. I feel that the selection process should choose people based on previous flight experience, as well as lots of experience playing the title that is being tested. People who were playing these games since back in the 360 days and then on the XOne should definitely be considered as they know the games inside out, and will be able to pick up bugs more effectively. Only problem is that limits the number of testers and decreases the population in the test build. Veterans should get first choice, with maybe some noobs getting in later. I’ll also agree that the team killing, trolling, and being AFK doesn’t do anything to help find bugs and test the game. Repeat offenders should be punished

To the other point, I agree and disagree. People who are posting that racist/hateful garbage should obviously not be part of the testing team. Definitely drop a ticket to 343 about that kind of stuff with as much details as possible. The more typical trash talking like some swearing and arguments, that’s alright with me. I’m all for freedom of speech. You shouldn’t have to be on your best behavior at all times while in the flight process. As long as your actively helping to find issues and having fun, that’s fine!
