I’ve had my Elite Controller for about a year and I am noticing some sluggish reponse time when I move the thumbstick compared to the reticle movement on screen. It could also be that I am imagining it/have severely regressed in my aiming. I’ve been noticing this for the past two months and it seems to be getting worse.
Unfortunately I do not have any other controllers to compare it with. Is this a common problem with this game/these controllers? Is there any methodology I can use to try and fix this? Could the issue be my TV? I have been playing since launch but only noticed this delay relatively recently.
I have an Elite Controller also, no problems with the controller. I get laggy games from being put on the same server with other countries which lately has escalated. I guess low population is the culprit on that one.
I have really bad input lag on my TV. The difference being, when I shoot someone there’s a delay before the bullet hits the target. I did some research on my particular make and model of TV and unfortunately turns out mine is one of the worst even with game mode turned on. I think it was something like 250ms with game mode and even worse without.
My controller is about a 1 1/2 yrs old…
Sometimes I feel like I’m experiencing slow turn, but I’m not fully sure. If you are using a elite controller, you have probably set the deadzones at 0 but try tweaking it a little if you’re not satisfied. There is also that “xbox accessory app” that gives option to change the responsiveness of the analogs (instant/smooth/normal).
Have you recently changed the TV or any other part of your A/V system? Have any power outages occured which might have reset any of these devices? Is the problem happening across all games or only with Halo? Did you recently return to Halo after having spent more than a week away, especially if the time away was spent playing some other game? Have there been any changes with your ISP - for example, if you have cable-based internet, has somebody recently built 170 new houses at the end of your block?
What you’re describing sounds a lot more like a TV that had its game mode switched off rather than an internet problem, but you never know.
Thanks for the replies. It turned out to be my TV not in game mode.
