Have an Xbox Elite v2 controller and no matter what I do it feels like my system is lagging on Halo 5: Guardians. I was wondering if this is connected to the heavy aim feeling people get playing this game. I’ve tried a regular controller, messing with my deadzones and nothings worked.

Is this a new problem you have from purchasing the elite? Or you had this problem already? Whats your network statistics look like? Decent speeds, open NAT type, low latency? Its possible you have some crazy high latency. Heavy aim exists in the game still, but it isn’t this constant every match thing you feel. Its there sometimes along with ghost shots, ghost melee etc…but it’s not an every match thing.

I have high latency for sure, since moving to Japan I’ve felt it on H5 but nothing on MCC, or not as bad.
Had this elite controller for awhile now.

Go to your network settings on the Xbox and select the advanced option. Go to where it says port selection or something like that. Take it off automatic and select manual, then select a different port from the list. Redo the network diagnostic test and see if it affects your latency.
Sometimes I get on and mines its at 40 or 50. Not super high but high enough to notice it. I do this and it goes down to low 20s. This also will fix NAT type if it says moderate or strict sometimes as well.
I have mcc installed but don’t play it so I can’t tell if one feels better or not. I’ve heard people say h5 is the only game the gives them trouble, but I just can’t play mcc. It doesn’t feel as fun as halo 5.
I have measured Halo 5’s input lag. Its average for a 60fps game. Not bad. FYI, if you have a 120hz display, set your Xbox to 120hz mode and input lag will be slightly reduced.
Another thing I have noticed is that the your aim will start to feel slow after playing Halo 5 for a few hours. To temporarily fix it, quit the Halo 5 app and restart your Xbox.
