Input lag? from lack of dedicated servers?

HI all ,

So i have recently been trying to completed the H2 campaign with someone, but no matter what we one of us ise always experiencing input lag.

If i am the “party lead” then he has a half second input lag,
if he is the “party lead” then i have the same half second delay.

We have put it down to the some 5k miles between us in location, despite having decent connections, but this still does not seem right

I was just curious if anyone else has experienced the same issue?

Thanks

I haven’t been able to connect to someone even 10 miles from me. The MCC servers for campaign and multiplayer never really worked well from me, wired, wireless ore anything.

Strange

I think they are running of a local host rather than a dedicated server for the MCC its the only real reason for the issues,
It is really rather annoying when your trying to campain co-op with someone and you cant even do the basics with a precision weapon, because of the delay, ill be testing this over the weekend with a friend, we will be pretty much setting up a lan in his house,

Just wanted to see if this was a bigger issue, i have played with the same guy previously and he experinced the delay but we assumed at the time it was due to a poor connection, then when we tried again yesterday and he hosted i had the delay and then halfway through the mission the whole game became super laggy and we were dying because one person was lagging off the side of the cliff etc.

Stuff like this shouldnt be happening in today’s age.

agreed completely. I hear that the game will get some updates and revamps this year, so I’m just going to hope that’s true.

After doing some searching i have just realized that they only use dedicated severs for match-made games, all co-op and customs are run via Peer-to-Peer connection, basically meaning that there will always be latency between connections,

You mentioned that you struggled to connect to someone who was 10 miles away, i find this very hard to understand unless one of your connections was atrocious,

I maintain a 200mb/s download and a 15mb/s up speed with my ISP, i should have no problems connecting or hosting to another Peer hosting as-long as both parties have a decent connection.

Maybe the connections you had were sub par.

Even so this is an annoying mechanism and all we can hope is that they open dedicated for co-op/customs within the MCC,

Only time will tell,
