Innovative Armour Customisation

So, I know that people wanting to change their helmet, shoulders and chest independently is a given. But from what I understand this is a comprehensive list of what most people want to be able to edit about their Spartan;

  • Helmet - Shoulders - Chest - Visor - Legs - Wrists - KneepadsNow, to establish terminology - Halo Reach allowed for Utility customisation, which is things like supplement armour on a thigh, or a tactical data-pad on the wrist. I think utilities should be expanded upon to include other smaller pieces to really personalise our Spartan~~. Do you guys remember the small antenna piece that got added with the H3 Security chest piece? Its on the upper section of the right side collar armour. I think it’d be cool if UTILITIES were expanded upon. These would be things that go on top of the base armour;~~
    - Grenade belts, antenna pieces, Jorge styled additional collar armour, backpacks, Jun’s coat, supplement armour, tac-pads, knives, sniper rounds, Katana’s [ew], ect.I think these should be a separate category and you should be able to put on as many or as little as you like. I know this is a LOT of customisation options, but I just want to propose the idea.
    Thoughts?

Reach really was the peak of customization.

I just hope the customization isn’t cosmetic. I would love to see if I add the shotgun bullet wrist attachment, that I get an increase in carrying capacity for that item. Even if its minor like 6 more rounds, over the course of the campaign that would be very useful.

Yep, want all of that. I’d also like to add feet and hands to that list.

Would be cool to be able to colour each individual part separately as well.

Respectfully, I completely disagree with you here.

Probably the main reason I keep coming back to Halo (aside from growing up on CE-3) is because it is a competitive shooter where all players go into every match at equal footing at all times. We all start with the same guns, and the same power weapons are up for grabs. Obviously Warzone is excluded from this statement, and when I say equal footing that doesn’t mean individual/team skill vs. other players.

I am fine with unlockables and customization so long as they are cosmetic only and have absolutely zero impact on game play. Once you start introducing upgrades that augment gameplay, it just ruins the core of what this game is to me. I will caveat this by saying I probably don’t speak for the majority of gamers when it comes to shooters. I tend to avoid any games where upgrades have a real impact on gameplay (one exception here was Titanfall, because that game just so cool and different when it first came out on Xbox One). I don’t have as much time to play/grind as I used to, so between that and just growing up on a certain type of shooter, I like to stick to games where no player can start with an advantage.

Also, having this in campaign only doesn’t seem like it would have a big impact.

I like the idea of visual upgrades in regards to grenade bandoliers, camo-net scarfs, tac-pads, etc. Just small details like that to add a but more personal touches to your own character. The armor effects…not so much. Maybe take it a step further and have camo-hoods for the player models, give it more of a ghillie-suit look.

I’d like to see some GEN 2(Spartan 4) armor return such as Locke’s GEN 2 Hunter variant. Vale’s GEN 2 Copperhead, Helioskrill, GEN 2 Mk VI-my opinion it’s the best looking. There are others that are pretty unique and look good, so I’d love to see some of those return.

I’d like to see the “space diaper”/cod piece, capable of being toggled on or off. It one of the small annoyances with GEN 1 systems, and the Chief’s new GEN 3. Just looks way too restrictive, and redundant in regards to form and function.

Just some of my ideas and wishes.

I was referring to campaign mode.

  • Helmet - Shoulders - Chest - Visor - Legs - Wrists - Kneepads - Accessories (ammo belt, knife, data pad, etc)
