Due to the lack of innovation in recent years the strategic style of the 360’s gameplay and mechanics have become more dated in the past few years. Some people have considered switching to less prestigious titles that are not on the forefront of the 360’s hardware. Lastly, Halo 4 so far is being pulled in every direction imaginable. I still have not found a fine line of clarity or stability yet. It lacks in concept and title too. I also don’t like seeing other titles emerge from a single game. Thoughts?
What are you talking about?
You start off talking about innovation, and the supposed lack there of…
Then finish with spoilers being posted by this ephemeral “you” who you haven’t identified…
I also assume by less prestigious titles you mean CoD? I’m really not sure if prestige has anything to do with games, at least in the realm of AAA titles.
I, uh… I don’t get what you want us to talk about. It seems like you just made a valiant effort to troll. By the way, it’s spelled, “Due.” Just for future reference.
Your posts always confuse me :{
Ignoring your posts lack of consistency and reason, Paragraphs are your friend.
Not that paragraphs would help make heads or tails of this, Your OP jumps from from trying to make one point to another, all the while having nothing to do with the topic title “Innovation”.
Lack of Innovation?
Spartan Ops.

Im saying that Spops is one example of Innovation in Halo 4. Not the best thing it has going for it.
A playable television series within a game? Fantastic Idea. I’ll wager money that COD and Battlefield will be all over that next year.

The “it”? Well, they so far appear to possibly have cracked episodic content in gaming… that’s pretty impressive, what with Valve failing so badly with HL2: Episodes.
Many talk about innovation, and how there’re no new ideas, but companies are often very cautious about new changes and things, especially considering the huge cost in developing modern games. I feel the cutting edge in game development tends to happen with the small often indie titles; we then tend to have the triple down effect to the AAA titles.

Episodic campaign missions seems pretty innovative to me. I haven’t seen another dev undergo such a rigorous DLC plan for campaign addons. Not to mention we’ll also be receiving MP DLC. As far as gameplay mechanics go it’s not that innovative, but creating a project like that is most certainly innovative.
Tactical upgrades.

I don’t think we have the same definition of “Innovation”. I go by:
> The process by which a new idea or invention is translated into a good or service for which people will pay, or something that results from this process.
>
> To be called an innovation, an idea must be replicable at an economical cost and must satisfy a specific need.
Economically, it is a fantastic DLC scheme in which they will be able to extend the life span of H4’s campaign at a manageable economic price, thus being able to generate a profit when they start to sell the Seasons, post-Season 1.
In terms of Business (and socially), it satisfies a need in the consumer: to enjoy fresh story-related content, and it satisfies the need of 343 (the business): to bring new consumers into the franchise and keep them interested in the story.
And ultimately it is a ‘new’ idea. As MainStringArgs stated, I haven’t seen any game developer deploy such a concise, long-term and efficient DLC plan.
Spartan Ops is Innovative.
