I know I will probably be crucified for making this statement, but objectively analyzing things, cod is the highest selling most popular videogame of this generation. Would borrowing or expanding on a few of their features be the end of the world? Everyone says halo is dead with these features we know nothing about, well cod is surely alive and kicking. I do not like or play cod, but let’s not forget all of the features cod borrowed from halo to reinvent itself when it went modern. Cod was good before but in incorporating much from the halo series it raised the bar. Halo had been king and didn’t innovate as much as it needed to.
I am not suggesting that I love all of the features detailed on paper, but I don’t “really” know what they are all about, and it isn’t just about me. If cod sales are any indication, alot of people do like the cod features.
From microsoft/343’s perspective they need/want to expand the user base. in order to do so they need to make decisions that won’t alienate the existing fans but will also welcome new fans with open arms. That is the difficult task. I hope they succeed and unlike many of you, just because of some sketchy details, I am not ready to write them off just yet.
I agree with you completely, and I’m quite excited for the game to come out.
