Hey guys the weekly bulletin inspired me to start giving more input and ideas. I usually just read threads and not post. I want to this thread to be for creating new game types or building upon current ones.
I want to start with Invasion. I thought Slayer would always be my favorite game type but I was wrong when Reach dropped, invasion nearly topped it. I think this game type could excel brilliantly in a 16 v 16 or 32 v 32 game mode. Here’s my idea on how to innovate Invasion:
Players spawn(I’m talking spawn points not with AA’s or loadouts as we dont know if Halo Xbox One will have that system) just as in Reach and players have to capture 2 territories to move onto the next phase. After capturing the territories the players must detonate a bomb. 1 bomb, but with 2 extraction points. The bomb should detonate in about 1-2 min. The team that is detonating the bomb should get some power weapons dropped as well or turrets should come online. After the bomb is detonated, the players have to take the core to the extraction point, but here’s the catch. Once the core is at the extraction point a pelican spawns along with 4-8 falcons (depending on if its a 16v16 or 32v32, IMO the falcons are better then hornets in the sense that falcons make you use more team work rather than hornets). While the enemy team gets 4-8 banshee’s and a phantom. The pelican would have 2 gunners as with the phantom with buffed machine gun turrets. The carrier of the core will be able to sit in the -Yoink- pit of the pelican. The pelican must fly to a certain LZ whether it be at a certain altitude or across the entire map at back at spawn or enemy spawn. And it doesn’t have to be limited to pelicans maybe its switched up with you taking a mammoth or its the elites attacking and they get dropped a scarab. Its limitless.
If you guys could help me improve my Invasion game type as it obviously needs improvement that would be awesome, but don’t hesitate to make/innovate your own game type!
