Innaccurate spartan counts, can any one confirm/deny/or explain this?

So im reading through the halopedia: https://www.halopedia.org/SPARTAN-II_program

To see if all spartan 2s have been identified for personal project reasons. I know its stated that 33 spartans survived the initial augmentations, and theres a list of successful augmentations on the wiki, and i counted to see if all 33 were accounted for. There are 37.
On top of that it says 30 were officially dead, minus osman who was listed dead but lived so 29 presumably dead. Ive also counted 15 washouts including osman. In total thats 81 spartans. 77 if we go with the original 33 survives instead of the 37 i counted, despite only 75 kids being abducted. Am I counting something wrong here?

So, 33 are how many survived with 100% success in augmentation. Some were said to have died but actually didn’t and some of the wash outs were eventually rehabilitated. Out of the 75 augmented, 30 were killed, 12 “washed out” but survived. At least 3 out of the 12 have been confirmed to have been re-augmented later on and deployed and I believe Gray Team or Black Team consisted of Spartans that were believed to have been killed but actually survived. That’s not to say there’s not inconsistencies with the SPARTAN-II program though. I’m pretty sure Halopedia has a section dedicated to those inconsistencies too if I’m not mistaken.

Thats what i figured at first but there is a seperate section of spartans that washed out on that page, and it includes spartans that were rehabilitated like red team and black team, and they arent included in the 37 listed in the successfully augmented section

you think this is bad, you should see the the numbers for the Spartan-IIIs. if we go by ghosts of onyx, there should be about total 936 IIIs. But with the introduction of head hunters, Noble team, and more and more IIIs somehow showing up here and there despite all 300 of A and 298 of B perishing in their respective missions, these plot holes suggest that there could quite possibly be well over 1000 total Spartan-IIIs.

It’s possible that some of the 37 are just unconfirmed cases of washouts. There’s really no telling. It’s also possible it’s just an oversight on 343’s part.

I’m pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that all Spartan-IIIs designated as Cat-2 came from the ones not picked for augmentation with the mainline companies. So, for instance, there was 497 kids originally in Alpha Company before the 300 were selected for augmentation. However, of the 197 not selected, some were secretly augmented, given Mjolnir armor, and placed in specialized combat teams such as Noble, Strident, Anchor, and the Headhunters.
