Initial impressions of Patch for Forge

Anvil round is well balanced late game. Still seems too strong early game.

The change to diminishing returns is quite significant and is evident as soon as all the pads on your main are up and running. Who needs combat salvage when i have 10K supplies?

Siege turrets are awesome.

What kind of buff did siege turrets get? I have only played one game on the new patch and although I placed siege turrets they didn’t see any use in battle. The Kodiak I had in range of an enemy mini base though was making sweet music alongside my ally’s Blisterback parked next to it so if the siege turret is even better than that I’d be impressed… :wink:

they got a cost reduction and a velocity buff i absolutely love the change they did to it

I agree with the diminishing returns. It’s crazy how much supply I have.

Gotta agree on the Anvil round. It recharges so fast that it can just chip away at T1 armies since they often don’t have any healing. Not nearly as bad as before, though!

Forge is still broken, both the hero unit and the leader wheel.

Just got stomped by him, switched to Forge and won 3 games in a row. Not only that, Hornets are unbeatable. Tried reaver ball and failed, saw a guy try to counter me with torpedo Banshees and failed as well.

Forge = broken.
Hornets = broken.

Sounds about right. They really didn’t patch forge. They need to nerf his speed to that of the bison so infantry have a chance because right now its just ride in, hit Y, drive away, rinse and repeat. Or make his Y ability available at Tech 2. Y ability is just too strong at T1 with no effective counter besides build 90000 troops and waste all your resources on T1 bums while Forge techs up. What a shame.

The speed nerf at T1 sounds like a great way to balance the hero unit.

Even if it no longer wipes entire armies it allows you to control the whole map, it’s literally impossible to steal a power node from him. He can cover the whole map easily. I even saw this happen in -Yoinking!- HIGHWAY. Unbelievable.

So you used the hero unit Y ability at a concentrated group of grunts and it killed only one, red lined 2 more, and chipped away a couple others. How is this op again? It’s not broken like before where they all would’ve been obliterated. I imagine the Spartan Slam and warlord’s Slam have similar results PLUS an extended stun.

Sure his speed and vehicle status is still an early game issue but going off that clip he is in no way OP like before. Why don’t we give it some more time and try using other heroes against it rather than just killing basic grunts and waving the op flag.

A voice of reason here… It hasn’t even been 12 hours and the op train is chugging on. Will you guys chill. The seige turret price drop is amazing

I really don’t understand how hard it is to change avile round to the second upgrade and forge was alway good on economy now it’s crazy since the supply update. Like why are these ppl thinking?

Forge hog is overpowered just because it’s a vehicle. Nothing in tier 1 counters vehicles therefore there is always gonna be problems.

Anvil is not op anymore… stop crying… stop clustering infantry all together :smiley:

Said this before the patch came out either you nerf his damage or his speed his ability to throw a huge amount of damage and effortlessly get away and rinse and repeat is what makes him a 1 man map control machine I don’t know why people expected it to change.

Forge hog (and forge himself) are fine now- he’s a great leader and the forge hog opener is still very strong but in no way is in uncounterable/ broken, its just as strong as banished hero openers or a well worked unsc barracks opener.

I think the issue is the armor plus its speed not its damage
