Something has been bugging me from the start of Reach(the worst Halo Game to ever be released). What is an inheritor?! All of the other ranks make sense. We have previous halo ranks with the military ranks and the eclipse/nova/noble/mythic ranks make sense, but why is the final rank inheritor? What does it have to do with Halo? I just want to know where it comes into play in the story and why it is the max rank over Reclaimer(Master Chief).
It involves the plot of halo 4, 5, and 6 where the forerunners, humans, and covenant fight to control the “galactic mantle”, which the precursors created to control the galaxy.
They want to know who is the true “inheritor” of the galactic mantle.
