Inheritor rank, no love?

as far as i can see, the only rewards we get towards halo 4 are the pre-order add-ons. i’ve been working on inheritor recently and i’ve come to the conclusion that maybe it isn’t worth it?

do we really get absolutely nothing for our efforts towards being an inheritor? being max milestone and having all the DLCs, and having a positive K/D- nothing to show for it. just to pile onto it, i’ll have around 10,000,000 credits i can’t spend, i’ve heard rumors that maybe it will contribute to halo 4. i mean, if theres nothing we can do with the 10 million we’re left with, why not make the haunted helmet 10 million credits?

don’t know, but it seems to me that maybe 343 has taken a wide turn on things considering they took halo’s name into their own hands. can someone update me on how inheritor contributes in any way to halo 4? thanks guys!

Sad truth is that the ranks in Reach don’t actually mean much.

Halo 4 is not Halo: Reach. Why should any of us be rewarded for our achievments in another game?

While I agree that maybe there could be a small thing to acknowledge our dedication to the series (for example the armour unlocked via Waypoint in Reach), just having a certain rank or number of credits means nothing and should mean nothing in a new game.

Without boosting you would think that the Rank would be a good indication of your dedication to the franchise. But to a lot of people that doesn’t seem to matter unless you’re rank 50 in something.

welcome to the forums. As far as i know nothing carries over from reach. Going to inheritor is more like a self reward. Like…“congrats i made it!” Kind of like in my COD days i went to 10th level 80 just to prove that i could do it. Atleast to me thats reward enough you might be different.

I’m pretty sure that Reach will play no part in Halo 4.

Halo 4 will hopefully have an improved system. I heard that when you hit the rank cap, you can focus on individual playlists and get special or exclusive abilities and stuff for those playlists.

It would give good players a reason to keep playing. Solving your problem of no love at the highest rank.

You get the Haunted Skull. Thats your reward.

You’re not going to get diddily-squat for reaching max rank in a different game made by different people… That makes no sense.

This is a new trilogy and a fresh start.

Bungie created Halo Reach so you can blame them.

What was 343i supposed to do when they took over? Take the haunted helmet off everyone and charge ten million? :S

Probably not seeing as the ranks in reach are pretty worthless.

I do wish Haunted would carry over…

At the very least, there better be a spot on my Service Record that says i was INHERITOR in Reach.

The fact that you reached the highest rank in an experience based system doesn’t really mean much at all. Given enough time, anyone could do it and it’s not like you can ever rank down or lose experience so…I don’t see why you deserve anything at all, honestly.

This.

Hate to tell you this but any rank over Eclipse is simply an indicator that shows how much time you’ve spent idling/hiding in firefight.

Why would it? Nothing from CE carried over to 2. Nothing from 2 carried over to 3, etc.

I want a clean slate to start over.

Why should people who AFK FF to enhance their position in a broken ranking system get a reward in a completely different game?

Never happened before and hopefully it never does.

Way to make a blanket statement.

I agree. Being an inheritor is sometimes annoying anyways.

If anything, I think that special emblems/nameplates should be given to old-school Halo fans. If there is armor unlocking on Waypoint, it could take into account past achievements from previous Halo games. Nothing rank-specific, though. Especially not with Reach.

it’s two separated games

Why would you be rewarded in a new game for what you did in a previous game? That doesn’t even make sense in this case. Bungie made Reach, 343i is making Halo 4. Yes, it’s the same franchise, but it’s not the same people making it.

You know what the reward for making it to Inheritor is? Satisfaction that you got there. You spent a ton of time on something you (hopefully) enjoyed doing to reach a goal that most people will never meet. If you weren’t having fun and were only playing so that you’d be rewarded in a future title, you were playing the game for the wrong reasons.
