I’ll start off with I’m probably going to have fun with this update. Here’s my disappointment, that’s a smaller bit different than other’s. I don’t care if it wasn’t a Falcon, since I was hoping for the Reach AR (I posted about what the differences could be somewhere else). Yet, I was almost immediately disappointed ever since the community had a general consensus that it was Jorge’s Turret. Well -Yoink-, they were right. So that was the point in which I could only hope for the Falcon, but then I saw the Red, and then just before this recent update, someone matched the Phaeton card to the ONI one.

Now what I can say in defense of this update, but should be looked over again by the company, is monthly updates don’t work well with themes AND deadlines. People are getting pissed about the Brute Plasma Rifle. Guess what? People asked for it a good amount of time earlier (It also probably had a premature birth into the wild of Halo 5). I feel like they need more than a month’s notice to start programming more -Yoink- outside of their current plan, which would explain Phaeton vs. Falcon. They probably had it planned before hand. Since they’ve got variants for everything except that, so that probably explains that part.

The Reach stuff there looks great. The only disappointment aside from the AR for me is the “missing” Mark V(B) standard. I really wanted that, but I’ll still settle for Kat’s I guess.

One more thing you guys need to remember, is that no one PROMISED a UNSC Air Vehicle. They said something along the lines of “It’s possible to add in the future.” I remember the “excitement” that arose from that answer, people were already speculating when said thing would come out, but once again, it wasn’t promised.

With this update not featuring the Falcon, I almost instantly thought, “Hey! Did you forget about Hogwild? You know, the update that will almost certainly bring Race and have some sort of vehicle content? Maybe that’ll be the time the Falcon or Hornet returns! Alongside a Revenant or Spectre! Maybe even the Troop Hog! Or the Gold Civie Hog!” Well, as you can see. This complete bull–Yoink- I’ve “come up with” may have a chance at being a thing. I mean, what the -Yoink- is the Hogwild update supposed to bring? A Hannibal Scouthog? ;^)

As for my closing statement, I find it -Yoinking!- hilarious that in the Memories of Reach banner the damn Phaeton makes an appearance. Like, what the -Yoink- man, -Yoink-'s hilarious.

what would a hannibal scout hog even be used for? just like a oni scout hog, id like a hannibal warthog, better gunner defense, or a shielded warthog

It’s a joke. I’ve been seeing 'them scout’ers 'round here recently. Got 'me buckshot ready 'fer anything.

i looked forward to this update for a loooooong time but the only thing that makes me happy in this update is infection, the rest is too simple and basic (apart from the noble armor sets).
Serious most of the new reqs are the skins we already had or well most of us, they are just there to fill the gaps in their update take that away and what do we get to be excited about?
i don’t see why they are making a remix of torque… the map torque was horrible already and still is and now remixing it… come on make at least a remix of a great map or make a new map instead.
I’m dissapointed in 343i for not listening to the community and making those updates (that should have been in the game since day 1) smaller and smaller and takes longer and longer to give to the players. so much excitement for nothing just a regular update with so many memories from reach.
Firefight was in reach and it was the best firefight halo has ever seen, why not bring that back? The falcon everybody was hoping for and 343i even got us hyped for it with their competition of the best falcon picture would have been great. The well known grenade launcher… probably going to be a myth in halo 5 something we will be hoping for every new update and we will never see it in halo 5.

343i needs to do better because this is a halo game not a ‘fool the players’ game.

The problem that the updates have though, is that the fanbase waits for the next until a month before the update to say what they should add. People who were talking about Hogwild a month before this reveal had the right idea. 343i seems to always struggle with schedules, so even if “everyone and their mother” wants an item in an update, they’ve got to give a good heads-up. Like ridiculously good heads-up. Though the UI updates could’ve came sooner.

Think of it this way… “don’t give too many ideas too late?”

I understand, but in the main post I also pointed out that A. The Phaeton variant was guaranteed to come at some point, and B. 343i was already working on the Brute Plasma Rifle ever since they started testing WFF.

The title was fitting compared to past updates. Cartographer’s Gift for example, all that was related was Forge. It was enough. Also, I just remembered we have no idea if Forge World is coming back along with some Forge bases that were in the works apparently.
