Infinty Slayer is more Slayer Pro... Why?

I can’t understand why most times when searching in Infinty Slayer my variant choices are dominated by Slayer Pro varients. So effectively Infinty Slayer is no longer Infinity slayer but Slayer Pro with Infinty slayer as a side choice.

I get a pretty fair balance

First option is always Infinity, but I don’t know if I’m biased, but there’s just too much Pro in other two. Damn this useless gametype. It should just vanish as noone likes it anyway.

I enjoy it and play it fairly often when I get the opportunity.

I haven’t played it recently as I’ve been on Champions bundle though. I must say that aside from Jetpack, Camo and the hilariously unbalanced random ordinance, champions bundle Infinity plays fairly well.

Now we just need to get rid of those things I mentioned, bring back nade tricks and possibly take away sprint and the gametypes pretty good.

But until that happens I prefer pro.

Anyway, I tend to see about an equal amount. I wish the first slot was Infinity, the second slot was random and the third slot was pro though, that’d be ideal.

343i could just change the name of the playlist from Infinity Slayer to Team Slayer, as I’m seeing a lot of complaints about Slayer Pro being in a playlist called Infinity Slayer, and I bet the complaints would just die down a bit, and Legendary Slayer is being merged into this playlist so it’d be smart to change it when they’re merging the playlists.

Although I personally enjoy it more than infinity slayer, I understand your frustration. Slayer Pro seems to be getting much more love in the playlist than infinity slayer.

Ok, so we can agree that Infinity Slayer is very different from non-Infinity Slayer. So what 343i should do is to consolidate non-Infinity Slayer gametypes on separate playlist. If Legendary is able to attract 200-300 people, then maybe with Pro it could double that population and Infinity-haters could get some not-so-low-populated playlist.

If 343i needs to spread this “consolidation” madness, why do they have to consolidate Pro or Legendary with Infinity Slayer, which is doing just fine without them? Why they don’t consolidate them with e.g. Team Snipers? Considering that Infinity-haters wants fixed loadouts, lack of AA or Ordnance, that would have much more sense as that kind of playlist would have more consistent fanbase.

As a person who is happy with Infinity settings I hate everything what consolidating Infinity and non-Infinity setting brings, and from what’s happening in Infinity Slayer playlist I’m sure that I’m not alone. People are forced to play on maps they don’t want to (as other options are occupied by Pro and soon by Legendary), so they quit. It’s much more difficult to find and start proper 4v4 match right now. My priority is to make Infinity Slayer playlist, 100% Infinity, while yours is to play non-Infinity Slayer. Our priorities are against each other only because 343i is making mess in matchmaking.

We’ve always agreed on the highlighted part. I never had a problem with having alternative game types OCCASIONALLY appear in only the third voting slot. Though of course now, for selfish reasons only, I am hoping legendary slayer will regularly be two of the three voting slots even though I recognize that it is bad design and could never advocate it to 343.

I feel the same way yo do, if I wanted to go play a game type like Slayer Pro I would just go play Team Throwdown.

You had me right until there. That’d be a really, really stupid decision on their part if they chose to do that.

Personally, I’d go Pro-Legendary as one playlist, and consolidate BTIS and BTS into one playlist as well. No point in having two near identical playlists that can easily be merged into one more seemlessly than any of the other playlists.

That pretty much sums it up. That sums up the entire game really. They had some fantastic ideas and managed to screw up pretty much every one of them.

Honestly I agree. It should be legendary BR’s and infinity. No radar is probably too big a turn off and throwdown is the premier competitive playlist.

Slayer pro should be cut.

Sure, that would be stupid. However is you consider reasons for which people are choosing Infinity Slayer over Legendary, then putting Legendary into Infinity playlist is even more stupid. Yet, 343i did it.

Rename the playlist “team slayer” so people know that they are going to play legendary, pro and infinity and not JUST infinity.
But IMO, infinity slayer should be a action sack gametype and pro/legendary should be standard slayer.

Sure. Let’s decrease Halo 4’s default Team Slayer population to 300 people at peak.

If legendary slayer was available at launch and infinity slayer came out 9 months later in the action sack playlist, the population would be a lot higher now.

Which is irrelevant for managing Halo 4’s matchmaking.

Teusz and I sharply disagree on what they should do with future titles, but we agree that Halo 4 has to cater to Halo 4’s player base.

Considering population of Anniversary playlist, Slayer Pro playlist (and unpopularity of Pro gametype in IS playlist) and Legendary playlist, population right now would be much more miserable. Even the most popular Halo 3 had population lesser than CoD 4, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years (etc.) after release of both (despite entire CoD population being splitted across more and more games each year). With all that info I’m 100% sure that “everybody wants to play classic Halo” is just a myth repeated across Halo’s forums, and running in circles only makes things worse.

I still want to know who was put in charge of Slayer Pro. Why the AR, why the Light rifle, why the DMR, why the Carbine?

Slayer Pro should be Slayer Pro DMR or BR.

Slayer pro is better than infinity slayer because you get ordnance in infinity slayer.
