The new bulletin talks about Infinity Slayer, and I gotta say, it sounds really fun.
It may not be the most competitive mode ever, but it’s a heck of alot more interesting
than normal slayer.
There is alot of chance that it couldn’t work, because it is a whole new gametype. But
if it isn’t good then we still have regular slayer.
No it isn’t. 1-50 Team Slayer should never take the back seat and should remain the primary gametype. I understand change is obviously necessary, but there are some things that you can’t change. Team Slayer was the same in all 4 Halo games prior to Halo 4 for a reason.
Yes I think it will be fun to start with, but the most likely scenario is that I will become bored with all these ‘fun’ additions, I will eventually stop playing the game just like Reach. Without anything worth playing for and a decent way of playing for it then the game just gets stale to me.

Normal Team Slayer is still in the game you know. Infinity Slayer isn’t replacing it or anything, it’s just a variant, like 1-Flag is a variant of Multi-Flag or Neutral Bomb is a variant of normal Assault.
They’re really taking the ball and running with it aren’t they?
More like sprinting with it into the seat of the doc’s delorean, speeding into the future in a fiery blaze and back to tell us of all these new, creative and dangerous things.
I honestly can’t see myself doing it for long, it’s a bit like power slayer I guess.
I CAN see it tolerable if those power ups are managed correctly. That’s my only real worry, the drops only have me interested.

Hopefully it won’t get stale easy. There’s just so many new things it this gametype. It
will totally change the way we play Halo.
[ "Team Slayer has always been the most popular mode in Halo, so when we sat down to build the Halo 4 competitive multiplayer experience, we asked ourselves several questions: How do you improve upon Team Slayer, especially after so many iterations? How do you reward players without upsetting the delicate balance and gameplay loop? How do you make it feel different but comfortable at the same time?
The answer to all of those questions comes in the form of Infinity Slayer.
I don’t like the point scoring system AT ALL. It will clearly support specific gameplay above others AND just looks WAY too similar to the CoD scoring system… Just saying, I like change but not when it blatantly resembles another (bad) game series…
I’m aware that they probably won’t be taking out the Team Slayer variant all together, genius. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Whether or not Infinity Slayer will be taking the place of Team Slayer as a matchmaking playlist is what I was talking about.
I agree with the OP, I think it will be fun, but I will hold my tongue for certainty until I have played it this November 11/6/2012 Save the Date OO-RAH
