Infinity Slayer Seems Non-Fun

From what I’ve seen wih the personal ordnance drops, the new scoring system, and what-not… I can literally say that I will not be playing this.

Just let me have my team slayer. Killstreaks do not belong in Halo, in any playlist.

I think it seems fun and you don’t have to play it

Think it looks awesome personally…

Gotta be said though I’ll probably be playing Regicide the most though.

You do have your team slayer without Personal Ordnance drop. Problem solved, don’t play infinity slayer then.

But its not like there that game changing but you are entitled to your opinion

Personally I don’t think it will be fun, I KNOW IT WILL BE! Why? Because I thought the same about All the Others and I was correct?! At least in my own opinion, but on to a fun a fact…I am Super glad they kept the same idea with scoring. While it’s now a point system, the way to win in regular slayer is by earning Kill Points! 1 Kill = 10 Points 60 Kills wins the Game OO-Rah! Thank you 343 Industries for Not having it be all about points, thank you!

You don’t have to play Infinity Slayer. Just play Slayer.

Seems fun to me. To each his own I suppose

These are not kill streaks, they only give you decent weapons when you get a certain amount of points and get harder and harder the better you do, they are bringing back classic slayer if that what you like better,

I’ll play both Slayer and Infinity Slayer. I’ll probably play Slayer more though.

Yeah. Care packages, point system, killstreaks, perks, load outs… It reminds me of CoD. That’s not a dig against CoD, I just prefer a more old-school halo feel. Thankfully there will be a classic playlist without the new gimmicks. I play casually enough to not be bothered by missing out on all the new bells and whistles.
Also, I may be playing Spartan Ops more than MM. It sounds great! I think it’ll change the way video games are made. I’m proud that a Halo game is the first to have downloadable serial episodic missions.

Before you dismiss it entirely, play a couple games of it when Halo 4 comes out and go in with no prejudices towards it. If you still don’t like it then fine, no need to play a game type you don’t like. Just give it a shot is all im saying.

Give it the ol’ college try :stuck_out_tongue:

This. I’ll have to try out Infinity Slayer before making a decision on it, it seems like it could be a lot of fun. Unless you’ve played it, you can’t really tell if it’ll be fun or not so I’ll wait until the game is released to make my final decision on whether I like it or not.

I know myself and my tastes well enough to know it’s not for me. I’ll play it once just to confirm my suspicions, or, however unlikely it may be, be pleasantly surprised.

Those so-called killstreaks work more like the ordnance from halo reach’s invasion skirmish. But rather than earn them by sitting in a spot for ten seconds you need to fill up points, not kills. And then congrats you can haz a randomized selection of mid-tier power weapons like the needler and scattergun.

Its not like you can earn a precision strike with longswords, or bomb a section with the wolverine or call in a mac strike.

Or end the match with a nova bomb

It sounds like a lot of these features will reside in their own playlist, so you’ll be able to avoid it pretty easily. I think it’s safe to say that they’ll have a ‘classic’ playlist stripped of all these things.

Looks fun to me. I am not sure it’ll be my go to playlist but I am sure going to give it a go.

It seems fun to me. To each his own, I guess.

Can’t wait to play!
But wait, I’m a little rusty on my math. If one kill = 10 points, and 60 points wins the game…isn’t that only 6 kills?

EDIT: lol, nevermind. I read that wrong. I just woke up!

So…

Because it’s not a Halo game to YOUR liking, it’s not good? “Oh noes, they’re taking pretty good ideas from other titles that are doing a CRAPLOAD better in the market than Halo 3 ever did! They’re dumbing down Halo! It sucks now!”

Seriously.

Look, I am not a fan of “killstreaks” in the least. However, I doubt they are going to be implemented a la CoD Killstreaks. No choppers overhead murdering people in one hit. No auto-guns to place at choke points. No rabid dogs that run out and murder you in one hit.

From what I understand the “killstreaks” are little more than spawning a weapon on the field. Seems okay to me. Do well with whatever is in your loadout… Then you get access to something better. I fail to see an issue with this. Especially since there is no guarantee that YOU will get the weapon you just spawned.

As for the subject of Halo itself… I don’t know. Classic playlists if you really care that much. I can’t see hating Halo over changing it’s formula a bit. Standard Slayer gets… well… FREAKIN’ OLD after the tenth iteration in the franchise where the only things that have change is “new maps”, “new weapons” and “weapon balance”. I guess you could count Equipment and Armor Abilities as significant changes… But I really don’t. Minor changes that seldom come into play don’t interest me. Or I should say… minor changes that don’t really change the flow of battle, don’t interest me.

I’ll be perfectly fine playing whatever playlist seems the most interesting to me.

In Halo 2 it was the Skirmish playlist. In Halo 3 it was the SWAT playlist. In Reach it’s the Invasion playlist.

If you don’t like what Halo is turning into… Don’t buy it. You vote with your money. Simple as that. I’m pretty certain NONE of us will even notice you’re not playing. And I’m sure on release day, we won’t even care that you’re not. We’ll be enjoying our game. And you’ll be enjoying… Well, whatever game you’ve gotten instead.
