Infinity slayer and the ordinance drop system

I really dislike infinity slayer because this new stupid ordinance drop system. It’s like everybody always has a power weapon, semi power weapon or a power up all the time. It feels more like a team fiesta type game mode then the standard slayer mode. I can’t believe they made this the standard slayer gametype.

Couldn’t agree more, but I don’t want infinity slayer gone it is a fresh addition to the series. We just need “regular” slayer coming soon.

Play team slayer Pro then. That is what I have been doing and it is way more fun than infinity slayer. Also most of the objective gametypes dont have ordinance drops either

I don’t think they should remove it either. Like you said though I just want a regular slayer game type. Infinity slayer is more like an action pack crazy game mode and not standard slayer.

well what you dont like is the Personal ordinance system. that is only in infinity slayer. the ordnance system is in every game mode except for slayer pro and flood.

Been playing KoH to replace it myself, but I still go for the hill

I’m hoping for a team hardcore playlist that has static weapon spawns (once they are fixed), no personal ordinance… but does let you use the loadouts of your choice. I could understand if things like PV and camo were removed but I think thruster, JP, regen are all fine to be able to choose from.

Weapon spawns on the map are random in location and timing, weapon drop contents are random and the rate at which you get drops decreases as you progress.

Literally none of that is conducive to a fair a skilful playlist which is honestly all I want from Halo multiplayer. Keep the mindless casual fun in some playlists but keep a hard core of good, reliable and skill based playlists at all times.

How is camping a power weapons spawn skillful. Just saying because that’s all that happened in 2 and 3. The weapons now seem to have a set initial spawn and every time they spawn after that is random. This eliminates the need to camp for power weapons and keeps the game moving and focused on gameplay. Not to mention the weapons showing up on everyone’s screens has led to some pretty crazy fights over power weapons. If you meet at a power weapon and have to fight over it, the more skillful player or the fastest player to get there gets the weapon. It keeps the game going, I like it.

I completely agree. I wish they’d just made it an extra gametype in the ‘Team Slayer’ playlist along with the old regular team slayer (and maybe just integrate slayer pro into it).

I like that weapon spawns are random, but I’m not sure what I think about the personal ordinance yet. Getting destroyed by some guy camping with a sniper rifle and an Incineration cannon for when you get close is pretty frustrating tbh. Its great when it works out in your favor, but totally bogus when two or more enemies have stacked weapons because of it.

I agree with what you’re saying here. Camping power weapons is not necessarily skillful. It just requires teamwork and co-ordination, and whichever team is working together better gets the power weapon. If you’re playing with randoms, the only thing governing whether or not you get the power weapon is your loadout, the other players knowledge of the power weapon, and luck.

Sure, your weapon prowess in the firefight for the weapon is skill, but it’s the same skill in every firefight, and Infinity slayer has more of those moments.
