Really glad they decided to get on a FFA game type. But why infinity? Why?

I can understand that 343 want to push their ideas but they have taken away core elements of Halo in doing so.
343, you decided to make a sequel to Halo so give us Halo plus new features rather than new features minus Halo.
Still recovering from the shock… But I could be cool with this. As long as a Classic FFA and a Pro FFA are a available. Because if regicide and infinity rumble are the only FFA options… I don’t even know man. Feeling really let down. Hell, even a Reach style rumble pit will be acceptable, the AA’s could be annoying but the jetpack is nerfed, the Armor Lock is now the hardlight shield… Yeah a reach style rumble pit would be very much acceptable compared to Infinity. Hell it would be better than Reach Rumble Pit!
Custom loadouts and Personal Ordinance Drops… Who asked for this?
I agree…why infinity? most ppl vote for it because most ppl cant play without a radar. I love rumble pro, I won the first game I played, had a much harder time trying to fight Mr./Mrs.Boltshot in the infinity playlist.
Why cant 343i just get rid of the Infinity hoppers for one week and see how the Matchmaking population reacts. If it goes up well it will show what most of us think…if it goes even down then I will have to play grifball or snipers all the time which kinda sucks…

this sounds like a really good idea…but no DMR starts only map pick-up that includes the boltshot as well…
I feel kinda hypocritical because when I test out forge maps… Yeah I use Infinity settings and turn teams off… So I guess that’s kinda what Infinity FFA will be like.
But really, I only do this to see what’s the “worst” that could happen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVau1VfqE8c and friends kept joining the test session so I guess that kinda simulated JiP…
FFA infinity sounds good, more likely to get to steal some punks drop, the infinity playlists are the most populated, no one had to ask for it really the choice was obvious, it’s rumble pro that sounds tedius/repetitive
I’ll be downloading the pack and playing FFA a little later; does the playlist feature Rumble Pro, and if so, does it have motion sensor disabled?
If so, then ugh. FFA is not the gametype for a disabled motion sensor. Having it disabled in team games encourages teamwork, using communication to avoid being jumped and getting the drop on others. Watching each others’ back. How precisely does one watch their own back?
I understand it’s meant to give the advantage to players with greater overall awareness, but even those players will occasionally be backtapped/take shots in 1v1s they would have certainly won otherwise. Set loadouts and static weapon spawns, however, sound great.

They seem to be trying to reinvent the wheel with halo 4 multiplayer pushing their “Infinity Slayer”. I don’t know why they thought it would be a good idea. I’m not saying they flat out stole Call of Duty’s formula, but clearly a lot of inspiration was derived from COD resulting in it’s heavy influence in the game.
Examples: Join-in-Progress, Loadouts, Perks, Weapon Skins, Pointstreak rewards, etc…
They look at COD’s population and say “Wowee! How can we get a population like that?” So they do some similar things and think that’s going to get them a greater piece of the market share, when in reality, Halo should have stuck to what Halo knows best.
Examples: Everyone starts on an equal footing, everyone has the same starting weapons, map control plays a major role in success, weapon control, etc.
It’s just not the same. I haven’t had a chance to play the knew FFA yet, so hopefully I’m pleasantly surprised by how it plays. We’ll see.
It is all part of their unique contract with Microsoft. 343 gets a nickel for every Ordnance Drop and five bucks every time the person with the most kills loses a game of Regicide.

Want to luagh but it is probably not to far from the truth.

Yeah, it’s ten bucks per lost game.
Infinity > Pro
No radar in FFA makes the game play slow, only people who know about FFA would understand that
> Infinity > Pro
> No radar in FFA makes the game play slow, only people who know about FFA would understand that
You are missing my point. I consider FFA pro, bad. I consider even Reach Style Rumble Pit to be less than optimal… I consider Infinity to be infinitely worse. I exaggerate but yes, I would find pro and reach style rumble pit more tolerable.
> Infinity > Pro
> No radar in FFA makes the game play slow, only people who know about FFA would understand that
The matchmaking team stated that it was an error that PRO was released without radar. They intended for both infinity and pro to have radar. They are going to fix it. When? I dunno.
Either you embrace what Halo 4 is, or you go back to Halo 3.
Killstreaks in COD work, you do better you get rewarded. Frankly I have no problem with ordinance being in this game, however having tiers instead of random would be better.
Ordinance worked well in the FFA element of the MLG event in October last year and was not a determining factor in the outcome, Naded just played better and won.
I would rather have this than Regicide.

Infinity == Halo 4
That would imply Halo 4 is a Failure. Infinity is a game mode, a game mode many play only because of the lack of other options, not because it is beloved and needs acceptance. I am already accepting that it could have a place in the FFA playlist. That’s all it gets.
> Infinity == Halo 4
Yet it is one of its key defining feature compared to all other Halo FPS games.
> That would imply Halo 4 is a Failure.
Ha, ha in terms of player support and longevity it might as well be - Minecraft and FIFA.

Ordnance is based on points which you can get more of by being a distraction or getting a comeback kill (ie; being bad) among other crap. It’s not like you get them for being better in this game.

You die more, someone else is getting points. Good luck accumulating lots of comeback kills to help you win. GOOD LUCK (caps intended). Ditto for Distractions in an FFA game. ROFL
Multikills get more points and help get more ordinance - embrace the now my friend. Or maybe embrace your bishop?
