This is a great idea, probly works great on things like slayer or regicide but objective games like CTF or Dominion… I know when you put a challenge up, it raises the total pop. of that game type from 2x-3x… so it helps that game type pop raise. Now when you do that, the everyday players have to deal with unsavory people. The kind that will kill you right before you bring the flag to the base just so they can score it, or right after your done clearing out an enemy base on dominion betray you just to get the base extra base cap. points. I would say the same for KOTH, but its in the wind with the DLC. I know this Challenge will be over soon, but in the future reconsider using the objective games… some people could care less anymore about betrayals, or whats even happening on there own side.
I agree with this, I think CTF was a bad choice for this challenge. During the games im always speaking out, trying to help my team win but so far all I’ve gotten back is betrayals and teams remaining unresponsive to my callouts.
A while ago, my last game on Ragnarok, I used our teams mantis for base defense and one of my random teammates kept shooting my shields down, so I stepped on him and got a betrayal. When he respawned he kept doing it and I didn’t wanna get booted, so eventually I let him kill me and to my luck, the explosion of my mantis killed him so game still counted me as betraying him. WTF
I could only be too lucky I got to stay and finish the game. Now I’m sure I wasn’t the only player getting tired of team slayer but at least in there all I had to worry about was teammates that couldn’t hold their own.
(or more importantly my own personal score.)
I sure hope we can get a decent amount of points for only doing flag defense since every time I’ve ever left the base I hear “Flag Stolen”
Between this CTF and team slayer, so far I think I’d go back to slayer
Well, its bad enough most will not communicate, add in betrayals… how do people expect to win? …Yeah the Mantis and the Tank seem to be betrayal central.
How are they betraying you?
Can you give examples?
Other than ghosts, I don’t see how you could be betrayed so easily. It’s very difficult to betray a teammate.
Me, today, just stuck with nades… so they ment to do it… the other guy… dunno, You play CTF? its not that hard to betray someone, ive been hit in the back, naded, ran over… some were by accident.

Infinity Big team and Slayer have Friendly Fire Off, but objective game’s Friendly Fire is On so you can betray people all you want till you get the boot.
^^Couldn’t have said it any better myself.
What they should do is up the betrayal penalty, both points and respawn. It wouldn’t work well with accidental betrayals, but the ones done on purpose would be resolved. It’d be more of a “try and get them to betray me” thing, but most don’t play that way. My friend used to betray me for fun back in the old games, so I upped the respawn penalty to 3 minutes. Hilarious watching him cop a 30 minute betrayal penalty. XD
On the points side, considering it’s 100+ points for capturing a flag, betrayals should be a 200 point penalty. In the end they lose 100 points for their desire to capture a flag for some points.
I dunno, what do you guys think?
I did that on the older games… it would up the time every time you betrayed someone… sounds good, as long as people keep their eyes open on maps with rides on them… Nothing worse then cruising around in a hog and to have a team-mate jump out in front of you.
