I’l keep it short since replies will probably lead the conversation better.
Having Pro and infinity in doubles REALLY shows how much Infinity settings is killing this game. The drops, the insta spawn, the magic weapons appearing on the field, not having weapons to battle for.
This has now spread to CTF. Insta spawns? Power weapons all over the place?
Its quite clear THIS is the main resaon why Halo 4 is bombing.
Ordinance doesn’t really bother me on its own so much as implementation. Having an extra loadout weapon in the list of available ones just tacked on to the “1 precision, 1 automatic, 1 pistol, 1 grenade” formula and making it able to trump all the other precision weapons at their job does.
Ordinance could be better if the map ordinance was in stable locations and was basically just more visually interesting representation of weapon spawning, and the personal ordinances gave you the option of an ammo resupply, a grenade resupply or a boost to speed/damage/shield.

lol power ups that alter a players base trait should be thought for, not placed in your hands.
If you want stickies, find them on the map. If you want a shotgun remember when it spawns and beat your opponent to it. If you want to plasma pistol that worthog? Go find one. You want a sniper steal the enemies or wait for yours to respawn. You want Camo? Go pick it up on the map. Infinity kills map control it kills movement and it makes Halo 4 almost entirely a heavies variant.
Infinity is the cancer of H4 and should never been implanted to my opinion.
therefor, other then spamming power weapon on the map, why not just put power weapon and grenades in drops and magic spawning weapon?! Rocket launcher and BR wasn’t fun for the other team and boring for me in my Last T2 Heaven.
Infinity will never desapear but atleast make it more enjoyable.
> lol power ups that alter a players base trait should be thought for, not placed in your hands.
You gotta score points to get them, you can still swipe ordinance from a player calling it down, and the weapon spawns in Halo 4’s predecessors weren’t so much fought for as strewn about so thick it was harder to find someone who still had their AR than it was to get a better weapon.

What kills map control is halo 3 players trying to play halo 4 like halo 3.

Some of us expect to work for our weapons and advantages. Not get them gifted from the sky. How exactly does one play halo 4? Sit back with a DMR with Active camo get enough assists to get an ordinance power weapon? Sounds fantastic.

Well today I learned I didn’t work for that triple kill and got an ordnance. I guess I didn’t work for those two wing man medals and received an ordnance by working with my team mates by calling out movement and enemy locations.
You’re right I totally didn’t earn any of it. Just sat back and used Camo.
I always find this point kind of funny, everyone earns an ordnance. You have to be doing something to get it. While DMR and Camo are cheap ways of getting one it can easily be avoided if you stick to smaller maps or maps that the DMR does not dominate on like Longboat.
Oh also I average about 3 a game while actively playing, and most of the time I just go for a power up. Not sure about you, but I tend to get more when I’m actively doing well and playing with my team, instead of ya know camping weapons…

Oh so you earned your power weapon with assists and calling out huh? How about killing the guy who had the gun or killing the people trying to get the weapons respawn. BTB is a mess right now because of ordinance. Also can I have a link to your service record so I can see how much better you are than me and why you deserve magical power weapons to fall from the sky. I tried looking myself but must have not looked at the right GT because it seems I play this game I hate even more than you.

I do that too. I mean we do get weapons to drop on the map. A mess? Nah, could be better though. Then again big battles are always a cluster of gun fire.
I’m not sure what my GT has to do with anything. You probably have played this game more than I have, I try and play it once or twice a week since I have about 10 other games I’m playing at the same time and can’t devout all of my time to Halo.
I also play a lot at my friend’s houses and have just become comfortable downloading my profile to their kits. But I still fail to see how an ad hominem attack has anything to do with our discussion.
It’s completely relevant as your opinion doesn’t matter to me as much as say someone who has been playing as long as I have an has experienced what Halo Matchmaking was in Halo 2 and Halo 3. Trying to argue that Infinity is what Halo should be whist having little to no experience in the Other Halo games doesn’t really fly for me. The fight for power weapons, remembering weapon spawn times and trying to hold different areas at different times for power ups were an integral part of the Halo Matchmaking experience. Everyone started on equal footing and had to out smart or work together to get what they wanted. Without that people are encouraged to camp and get enough points to get just about whatever they want and I think that is game breaking. More so in BTB than Team Slayer. I believe that is a big reason why BTB doesn’t even have any Objective gametypes right now. Trying to get a flag or bomb from one side of the map when just about anyone can have a tide changing weapon would be a blood bath.

And that is where you are wrong. My points are still valid, and my opinons are still mine. It does not matter that I did not start with Halo 2 (I started with 3), and thoroughly enjoy the game play.
343i feels the same way, I’ve payed my money, and I sure as hell am allowed to give my feed back. You will not see 343i ignore a player because they don’t play 24/7. You sir are the first person I’m going to ignore on waypoint, for pure ignorance and disrespect.
I kinda agree with Erdu here. I feel as if the competitive side of the game has worn off. The competitive nature, or rather the competitive flow of the game has been changed with the ordnance system.
In Halo 2/3 you won matches by obtaining the right power weapons. Everyone knew that. You didn’t just get power weapons by camping. You had to take over different parts of the map at different times depending on the timer of said power weapons. Team communications was crucial back then, and everybody actually WAS communicating.
Whenever I hop on matchmaking now, it’s just a bunch of silent players doing their own thing.
Nowadays, in a CTF game, a player can hop on the mantis and camp at turret not doing a whole lot. But in the end he does get rewarded with a Binary rifle. It really messes with the entire flow of the game. (At least compared to what it used to be)
Plus, even though I don’t like MLG at all, there’s a reason why they removed Halo from their rotation.

The guy has a point kid. Evolve with the game and understand that this is not Halo 3 its a new game with a new way to play. Oh and by the way the ordnance drops is a way of making the game more realistic. If you don’t like Infinity Slayer the go play the pro gametype and quit crying on a forum about it. Here is a good idea why don’t you go back and read everything that was released about the game before it was released to the public. I mean it was all laid out for you and if you didn’t see this coming sorry that you paid $60 for the game. But again bro evolve with the game or go extinct with with Halo 3. Again sorry bro that you feel deceived about something that was laid out for you in black and white. Most of us put one and one together before the game was released and kinda knew what to expect and happen guess some people can’t add.
I hate that I have to choice between infinity and pro. For some players that don’t have a team, the motion sensor is vital. But why should I have to put up with crap to have one.

Dude chill I have been playing Halo since the beginning. And in all the years since the first time the game was released I have seen your argument. “I don’t like that they changed this or that.” Grow up and put your big kid pants on and evolve with the game. The biggest problem with this franchise is they put a forum on here so cry babies can complain about things that they can’t seem to get that they are not going to change them. If the other guy camps with camo and kicks your @$$ then try his strategy and see if you can win. Learn and adapt. Its what we gamers do.
