Well, tomorrow Infinite will have a hug update to the sandbox, new features and the serves. If anyone remembers The Master Chief Collection then there is probably some concern. As excited as I am for this update, especially as a Forge, this update may break more than what it will fix. I’m sure the teams or just team is working on fixing many of the issues.
I do have that fear of what might break and what might not from the Winter Update. I’m just hoping that it lives up to all the hype that’s been going around on social media. If nothing breaks, amazing! If something big breaks, well we will hear about it from content creators and social media. The last thing I want for Halo is it to die due to past bad choices, bad leader ship or something else within 343 or Microsoft.
I’m still wanted Social Features like Halo 3 and Reach had. Hoping they shift their focus to the Social side of Halo instead of all this Competitive crap. Also maybe the return of Invasion down the line. With the full 28 lobby size.
Also, hoping to see the community make some cool game modes and maps after the update. Hoping and praying people won’t get scared of how far Forge has come. Especially with all the new controls and options.
That would definitely go a huge way to relieving some of the tension in the community.
There is bound to be something. The key is not to waste any emotional energy on either worrying about it, or getting upset about it. It will get fixed.
The trick is to define your own expectation and experience.
Content creators. Meh.
Again. You are defining this. Social vs Competitve. Chill vs Sweaty.
With a game like Halo you get out of it exactly what you put into it.
What I mean by the social side is the communication people have in the game. I can’t talk to me team mates before or after the game. There isn’t a party up system like Halo 3 had or a continue search like any of the other games had either. By shifting their focus, I mean stop with the SBMM adjustments and focus on adding in those old features.
What I loved about the older games was being able to speak to my team mates and the enemy team with proximity chat. Which does not exist in Halo Infinite. That was one of the key features that made me return to it along with Forge. That is what I wish/want their focus to be on.
I don’t see how talking before the game could lead to people quitting. And there will always be toxic players. If people don’t like that they can mute the person or avoid the problem all together and go to a party. It’s a feature that helped me meet my friends on Xbox so it’s a feature that should return and be in the game.
Edit: Also, people may not agree but trash talk is apart of gaming. Everyone either hears it or dishes it out. I’ve done it on multiple occasions to people who just wanna fight. At times it’s annoying, others it’s funny. Plus if someone is to emotional to where they can’t handle something on the internet such as harsh words maybe they should never set foot into game chat or random lobby. How the real world is, it’s not kind.
The thing I’m most excited about are the new achievements. Though I may wait until this weekend before attempting them.
I recall there were a few issues with achievements at the launch of the game, though all of mine eventually unlocked. I’m hesitant to go for them right in now in case something similar happens.
I’m also interested to see how mission replay works with these achievements, as even though the feature is being added, I intended to try to play through the game again with a friend in order to ensure there weren’t any issues with booting up a specific mission for a specific achievement.
I’d like to hope the Achievements don’t bug out. I’m planning on jumping into Forge this week and then playing Campaign later this weekend with some friends.
A giant 12v12 (24 Spartans) Invasion game mode would be absolutely crazy and fun to play in Halo Infinite. I’m sure that the community will build something like this. Covert CTF will be the building blocks and the community is going to take that and run with it. This starting layout can be and will be done. I’m looking forward to community creations.
