My last post of this topic was expressed poorly, leading some to see it as not good faith, which was really saddening as that’s the last thing I could want. I want to make it clear that sincerely, I want Halo Infinite to be the best it can be and for this feedback to come across as constructive.
To start, I’ll list off what 343 Industries has done great visually. I played the Technical Preview on PC maxed out in 4k and I found some parts to be impressive. The floor of Live Fire looked detailed, and the mud graphics were actually amazing. I didn’t take any screenshots myself for reference, so I have to refer to PC footage other Halo Insiders have posted to reddit, but they do reflect the fidelity I saw in my experience.

Halo Infinite’s mud in Live Fire is super detailed, looks amazing, and surpasses even Halo 2: Anniversary’s mud - **The lighting in general is really nice**Where improvement can be had is some of the textures on the crates, walls, and some floors. Some of which are behind previous Halo games in terms of detail.

Halo Infinite’s rock textures on the cave in Live Fire are behind Halo 3 in terms of visual fidelity - Halo Infinite’s paint textures on the crates in Live Fire are behind Halo 3 in terms of visual fidelity - Halo Infinite’s textures on the walls in Recharge are behind Halo: Reach in terms of visual fidelity - Halo Infinite’s paint textures on the walls in Live Fire are behind Halo 2: Anniversary in terms of visual fidelity - __Halo Infinite’s textures on the sandy floor tiles of in Bazaar are behind Halo 2: Anniversary in terms of visual fidelity__Again, while I have noticed these visual issues myself when playing the Technical Preview maxed out in 4k, because I did not take footage myself, I have to refer to footage from others. It would be great if these textures could be improved.
I understand that this is a 2 month old pre-release build, however feedback from last year’s July 2020 demo resulted in some improvements that 343 Industries has stated appreciation for. Feedback now may result in more improvements as well.
Halo Infinite completely wowed me with its E3 2018 announcement trailer, I’d love for the final build to live up to that. When I looked at the detailed mud in the Technical Preview, I saw hints of the detail from the 2018 trailer. If the crates, walls and other lacking areas could be touched up it would be well on its way. I sincerely want Halo Infinite to be the best looking game that it can be and I can’t stress enough that I care about this game.
