So, I’ve seen the Halo Infinite’s battle pass and in-game daily store that is similar to Fortnite, and I’ve seen that you can purchase both battle pass and items in daily store with the same currency. So the question is: Are free-to-play players going to be able to get this currency or are they going to be stuck with free battle pass only?
Tbh, I’d love to see the possibilities for players to be able to grind for it and doing crazy challenges, since it will help people to be more invested into the game, cause humans like seeing big numbers and all.
Hopefully the battle pass will include some of the in game currency like fortnite does.

I’m pretty sure that in the end the vast majority of cosmetics will be locked behind some kind of paywall. Everyone thinks f2p sounds great, but ultimately it’s a money grab. Fans will still shell out $60 for the campaign, new players will be forced to shell out in order to get the majority of the cosmetics. Bottom line, it will cost significantly more to get as much customization and content as existed in the previous games.

Me too! But that’s going to be problematic for the devs, due to the fact that battle pass is not going to expire. Like imagine you bought Warzone’s battle pass and didn’t fully complete it, that means you’ll have to either grind the free battle passes all over again, or purchase the currency. The most logical thing they can do is make this currency purchasable only, but I hope for the best, since I am already planning to buy the 60$ campaign.

We will be able to choose which battle pass we grind you don’t have to start at the beginning it will be the same as MCC in that regard. The currency will be available for purchase. The stores items are purchased with Currency it will be much the same as COD points.
If you can get currency via a free path, it will be insanely low.
The free track is filled with filler (lol) content, so if you want cosmetics, you’ll have to shell out some cash.
The game is f2p So paying for a battle pass shouldn’t be an issue. If the game was full price I would have something to say myself but its free that’s all there is to it.
There will also be “limited time” events that, from the sound of it, do not tie into the battle pass that award cosmetics and such. That’d be another opportunity for people who want to play entirely free to receive stuff.
Game pass might function as an alternative to paying for battle pass as we’ve seen it’s bolstered value in Deluxe Editions (and similar benefits) of other Microsoft Studios titles. Although Gold is not required to play on PC, it’d be a potential benefit for Xbox players if that’s the case.
Additionally, there will almost certainly be cosmetics for a variety of legacy rewards and Infinite campaign accomplishments; and I’d imagine that will grow alongside the campaign’s content expansion over time.
Unless Battle Pass prices are unreasonable or they’re releasing them at an insane rate I’ll personally buy 'em up every time. Battle Passes seem a solid compromise between generating revenue and satisfying gamers, not splitting the playerbase - at least for free to play games.
I don’t care at all. The bottom line is customization is massively overrated anyway, and certainly not worth paying real money for. People will disagree but that’s only because they’re manipulated by the system. I’ll play the game strictly because the gameplay is fun, just as it should be
It sucks, but a large majority of the cosmetics will be behind a paywall as others have previously said. The current market has forced developers to compete in a free multiplayer sphere. The only problem is, instead of competition driving studios to improve their games for customers, it is driving companies to heavy monetization in order to not fall behind other companies doing the same. We really have no one to blame but ourselves; we allowed games like fortnite to become one of the most popular games in modern times thus cementing its battle pass system as standard; then we continued to allow other games to do the same as long as they didn’t include p2w items in their passes. 343 tested the waters with Halo 5’s req system and although the community did send out some complaints, as a whole no one really gave them too much of a fuss…and here we are at the end result: a fully monetized halo with f2p multiplayer that will be much more prone to hackers, AND we still have to pay full price for the campaign.
I have budgeted for Dec 8th. I am ready. It’s now up to 343 to prise my wallet open…

Yes, but you’re still able to get the cod points for free in a free battle pass, which might take a few seasons, but still free. I think it would be interesting to see if the same thing is going to be in Halo Infinite, since battle pass doesn’t expire, F2P player will be forced to get one of the many battle passes that will come out by this time.
