Halo Infinite is confirmed to be a live-service game and the platform for the next ten years of Halo. 343industries has confirmed that we’ll be getting expansions post-launch for both multiplayer and Campaign, which has never been done before in Halo.
What would you like to see in Infinite’s first major expansion?
I would really want to see if they don’t have 64 player big team battle at launch day one a bigger game mode with bigger fly vehicles like the pelican 32 vs 32 teams or 16 24 vs 24 of 48 players a lot of the community have been asking for a bigger game mode on halo waypoint here we should get a game mode with that many players because a lot of people have been asking should be post launch content one of the main priorities of content
please 343 industries I love halo so much would be a lot of fun with a bigger game mode!!
It is supposed to be live service game but I don’t think it is supposed to be Halo for 10 years. I think it is more as the jumping off point for the next 10 years of Halo.
For your actual question I really can’t say what it should be. It really depends on how much content there is.

I’m thinking it’ll moreso be the next mainline Halo for the foreseeable future. Games aren’t really doing the “four games in eight years” approach anymore. Look at Fortnite, that game has evolved so much since launch that it doesn’t need a sequel, it is the sequel. Same goes for Destiny 2. I feel Halo Infinite is gonna be that ever-evolving platform upon which many expansions and stories will take place. I feel like this is a better approach altogether from multiple releases anyway.
A little too soon to talk about DLC since we don’t know what the full game will have first. Let’s just see when that time comes at launch and then we could get a better idea of what we want for DLC.

Very true, just shooting some ideas around is all
Perhaps my guess for the campaign of Halo Infinite’s first expansion pack can be similar to the plot of Halo CE but is set on Beta Halo. What I do remember thinking is that the campaign of the first DLC can revolve around the Master Chief being in need to blow up Beta Halo after the Banished or some other enemy faction decide to try to use for some sort of bad purpose to try to destroy humanity with Beta Halo.
Please sir(s and madams at 343i), may I have some more (ODST)?
By this I mean. Please give us another ODST story, something short and sweet and jazzy, like the first.
Umm… tell me first what is going to be a part of the game and I’ll tell you what more I want. I’m hoping the #1 item on my list won’t be firefight.

How would that work for Xbox One though? If it does last around 10 years then the Xbox One will almost be as old a Halo CE is now.

It would be more like Destiny 1. They’ll cut it off at some point to make way for future expansions

Probably the same thing that happened to Dark Souls 2 or (I think it was) Destiny 2, where not only does it take big performance hit, but eventually they stop adding new content to the older consoles.

That’s Destiny 1 you’re thinking of. The 360 and PS3 versions had their last update in July 2016, with the Xbone and PS4 getting Rise of Iron 2 months later.
Well I’d assume the 1st content drop update for Infinite would add some important things missing from launch, whatever that would be. Probably a game mode or two, a legacy weapon and a map remake. That would be my bet, something small. Oh…and probably a battle pass for SEASON ONE. Ugh.

Ahhh gotcha. But still, my point still stands.
Does someone really believe, that Infinite will last 10 years?
If history repeats itself, we can be lucky if it has 3 good years.
What options does a shooter have to feel fresh 10 years?
Look what happened to Destiny 1. Was done after 2.

Destiny 2 has evolved so much over the years, but it’s still the same game. New missions, new stories, new loot, new gameplay, raids, strikes, etc. Look at Warframe. That game has been active for years, and it keeps getting more and more added on over time. Look at Minecraft. These games don’t need sequels. Halo Infinite will be the same. If you’re not a live-service kind of guy, that’s not because the game sucks. It’s just your own personal taste. There are plenty who don’t feel the same way. This ain’t '05, games don’t need a crapton of sequels to be fresh and interesting anymore.
I have a theory that the first expansion for Infinite will be an Arbiter camaign that will also introduce playable elites, since I’m almost certain they won’t have them at launch

Thats right.
But Destiny is a different game.
They can bring endless variations of
- New worlds - Weapons - Monsters - Storylines - Armor - Vehicles - NPC`s - SkillsMost of that does not work for Halo.
What kind of raids could there even be in halo?
There are no big monsters, a whole team could shoot for 20 minutes.
Better weapons obviously should not be implemented into regular multiplayer since it would become a chaotic rng fiesta which would kill Halos core game.
And what storyline twists could there be for further new worlds in the existing Halo universe? They cant spam dozens of new monsters into the game.
Im not against the game itself, on the contrary im hyped for Infinite, since i didnt touched H5.
But 10 years? After H4 and H5 died pretty fast? Reach also hasnt the longest streak…
For me its just marketing slogan they used before on Destiny.
May be the same Investors they had to please.
If we look at Franchises in Film or the gaming industrie… which part worked best? In 9/10 times it was one of the first two.
It it works, dont reinvent the wheel.
I’m worried that the game will struggle at launch and be somewhat ignored like MCC was and then after a year or two will start getting some decent content. But that aside I hope it will be along the lines of playing as the Banished or something like ODST.
