You seriously have no idea what you’re talking about lol. BTW one of the largest complaints when ARR launched was how much worse and different their characters and story characters looked because gasp they were new models, not imported.
Spend 5 seconds on google and you can see the differences are significant. Nothing from 1.0 was ported over to 2.0. Yoshi-P has been clear for years that 2.0 was an entirely new game built from the ground up.
I’ve worked on games professionally for over a decade and I’ve dabbled in both Unity and Unreal off the clock.
There’s also a special irony in you saying I have no idea what I’m talking about when you boldly said “they had to re-create everything in the new engine” lol
…My guy these are higher res textures with different shaders. Like, your screenshots are literally proof for me. This is hilarious and I don’t even know what to say. I’m looking at identical assets but with things like better lighting and improved textures. I’m seriously at a loss.
I know exactly what quotes you’re talking about, and I think you’re deliberately misinterpreting them. Realm Reborn is in fact a whole new game build from the ground up. Combat was completely overhauled. The critical path from one to level cap was totally different. Calling it a whole new game is absolutely accurate.
But the part that you’re missing, because you’ve never worked on a game in your life, is that literally every developer re-uses code, assets, and tools each time they make a new game. Everyone does this. Doesn’t mean they aren’t making a new game, but to think it implies that they didn’t re-use anything is wrong.
Yeah that’s what I thought. I got more specific about how games were made and why everything you said doesn’t make any sense, so you ignored everything and zeroed in on my career.
They will replace Infinite before they relaunch it. It is the laughing stock of the video game industry and also NOT Joe Staten’s vision. They will limp Infinite along until they can get the next game out that doesn’t carry the reputation of Infinite.
This is a ridiculous take. What’s infinitely anything, is the bizarrely messianic qualities y’all attribute to Joseph Staten - who’s just one dude, and just a writer.
EDIT: As a writer, I am NOT decrying being a writer. But I realize what we are and are NOT responsible for.
When he’s the guy the company seeks out to fix their debacle…his input is a little more meaningful than “just a writer”.
Anyway, enjoy Infinite and the content they do put out for it before Halo 7 comes out.
We’re not gonna’ hear a whisper of the next Halo game until 2025. So, get cozy. We’ve got at least three more years of Infinite.
Then when that game comes out, we can all reminisce about the dark times, and then say how good it became, and unanimously agree that the WHOLE fanbase believed in the game and 343i, and we can all eat up whatever they tell us about shipping a complete game next time blah blah blah blah
Hahaha, they’ve already “whispered” about it. It’s called Halo Endless. And before you say it’s DLC, go read about it. It refers to campaign, Multiplayer, customizations, etc. Sounds like a full game to me.
Anyway, I’ve been cozy for a while not playing Infinite. You should give it a try. Or keep playing it…you do you.
Even if the rumors are true, why would anyone be excited about 343 working on a relaunch or a new Halo game? We’ve seen them screw up for four releases now (including the MCC). I don’t know folks… maybe the fifth time will be the charm for 343? lmao Unfortunately, I doubt it, sorry but my optimism ran out after Halo 5 and especially after the MCC crashed and burned.
Just leave 343 alone and let them spend the next decade fixing Infinite… it’s honestly what they deserve.
