No one has pointed out that There is a character in the IW trailer that looks EXACTLY like Miranda Keyes and also wears the exact same uniform. She is also touching a monument that looks exactly like the one at the end of Halo 3. Also there is a character named Captain REYES who also looks identical to Captain Keyes.
Who cares about the Jackal and whatever. The fact that Miranda Keyes a nd Jacob Keyes were copied is enough
(This is another reason, see my point guys. it COULD also be an easer egg ofc)
In iw there are people going to other planets were then the colonies get in a war with earth. Plus the earth army is called UNSA. Plus a vehicle is called jackal. Seems familiar?..
edit: guys i know it isnt a ripoff and that most of these are just coincidince but i still thought it would be something worth noticing. Im not hating in iw and ive played all cods before, but the view lore based stuff in iw that we know mostly comes from halo(and some before halo which halo copied) so i thought: lets share it… Sorry for kind of klickbait title
But halo borrowing/copying other elements from games like cod is ok? FPS franchise’s are taking names or ideas from other games and implementing them into there own games it’s not that big of a deal

I gues but this is really thesame. Were talking avout storyline and factions. As far as i know cod didnt use the idea of unsc before or other colonies having war with earth. Btw i know its pretty normal but stil noticeable

It’s annoying and unoriginal, but no matter how much we as fans voice are opinions it’s not going g to do much, companies just want money and don’t care what fans think anymore
COD is well known for ripping off ideas of others games. It would not be so bad if they didn’t make it so obvious. The dinosaurs in the COD:Ghosts Extinction gametype look almost exactly like some of the prometheans. The wall running in Black Ops 3, Straight from TitanFall. Those are two right off the top of my head.
I will bet money that there will be a COD based on WW1 if BF1 does well , which I’m fully expecting it to. But as other have said, COD is not the only ones guilty of this. They are just the most obvious.
UNSA vs UNSC
There’s only so many ways you can combine the United Nations, space, and military sounding names.
Jackal
There may be precedent for this name, as there is currently a vehicle called the Jackal used by the British Army. Wikipedia link here. Of course, it could also come from various British ships, or just the modern day dog-like animal.
The concept has been played out over games and movies forever so to say IW is ripping off Halo for those reasons is fairly ridiculous. As for the naming of a vehicle both real militaries and Halo ones name vehicles after animals so yet again saying one is ripping off the other for that reason does not make much sense.

If you think halo copied COD you are so wrong. Halo 4 had thrusters way before advanced warfare came out. Before that was Reach and it’s somersault where you can dodge twice, and it was also in first person. Sprint, ADS, clamber, slide, and now I guess thrusters is a common concept of any fps genre and Halo has the right to use it.

Okay thanks for the clarification. In that case i still think it’s not trying to rip off Halo but due to them both being future sci-fi now, they due have striking similarities in certain aspects.

You maybe interested to know Halo isn’t entirely original either. I recall ‘Halo’ being inspired by books like Ringworld.
Why does everyone get so up in arms when they find out a game copied another game? It’s an industry standard, not some corporate evil move. Besides, Halo 5 hardly copied a single facet from CoD.
I am starting to wish Activison teamed up with 343i and made an xbox exclusive halo title that involved bungie…Maybe they could build upon H5G and improve it and/or make H6 a ground breaking game or something…shrugs

and adding that Halo was the first console 3D FPS, Halo basically can’t have copied CoD since Halo started first, many people complain about Halo being like CoD, but is CoD which is turning like Halo.

lol Halo 3 had loadouts. Halo 4 didn’t technically have perks. Ordinance drop was only in halo 4 and is technically canon since you know Halo always had ordinance drops mostly throughout the games. All of which was taken out of the game. Warzone only simplified it but doesn’t really drastically change anything as it still retained it’s core concept. Perks, loadouts, ordinance drops are still concepts and any game can still use them.

Right? Halo 2 had them falling all around you on the regular as Master Chief

Yes. Couple of the missions in halo 2 and in halo 3. It was preset though and were dropped by pelicans. Still ordinance drops. Even Halo reach had ordinance drops that were preset. lol I’m surprised no one remembered this. 343i brought it into multiplayer… It looked cool, but we all know how horrible that turned out lol

Fans from both the Battlefield and CoD series have asked for a WW 1/2 style game. EA just beat Activision to the punch. Battlefield would have been better due to their Effort. Little biased I will admit, I dislike CoD, already pre-ordered BF1, along with Gears 4.
