Infinite vs CODMW2 thoughts

i never owned or played cod games untill halo infinite absolutely pooped the boots.
i decided to try mw and thought it felt 100x better than infinite so im on the opposite side of gameplay feel.
since i abounded infinite, i also got mw2 and think it feels far superior in every way as well.
i also prob enjoy the new cod games since im new to the series so cant compare to the old versions n stuff, however i do hear lots of people tell me its bad, but i enjoy it so its whatever, we all have diff opinions.
key point on my opinion on this is i only play social games and solely for fun.
i absolutely loved halo my whole life and so much i refused to play cod.
untill now…
theres too much i dislike about infinte but the most prominent issue i have is the way aiming n gameplay feels, it is not halo, and never will be.
untill that issue is resolved i doubt ill return for good, maybe every season to see if anything changed but thats it for my halo career for now.
its very sad and disappointing to me that it had to end this way, as i had such high hopes.

Maybe in 2 more years it’ll be in a playable state but right now it’s far far from it. I haven’t touched it in about 6 months and I don’t intend to until it’s fixed. I’ll buy the MW2 battlepass instead. At least I’ll get my moneys worth

Im a long time fan of both fps franchises. the thing i’ve come to like more about COD recently is that there is a constant stream of new content. maps, modes, battle passes, weapons, etc.

Each year COD adds more new maps to their games than halo infinite probably will in its entire life (which whill probably be 5 years not 10)

I played MW2 II’s beta for about two matches and it felt like I was being force fed wet mud.

Could not disagree more when it comes to campaign. I love Halo, but Infinite dropped the ball SOOOOO hard. The story doesn’t make any sense, it’s super short, and is about as one note as one note gets. Every mission is simply grapple shoot, repeat… Sure vehicles still exist in Halo, but they aren’t impactful at all in this game at all.

MW2 is a polished experience with a good story that offers a lot of variety. From different types of missions like your basic point and shoot, to offering air support to troops below, to vehicular battles. It also offers multiple environments to Halo’s single backdrop. The gun play is excellent too. Not sure what you’re complaining about there. You’re a normal human soldier, not a Spartan so there will certainly be more recoil. And the biggest kick in the shorts for Halo is that COD did it all in 3 years…not 6.

I get that you’re a super fan, but you can’t honestly believe that MW2 will have the drop-off Halo did. COD is in the top 5 most played games pretty much always. They probably have 2 if not 3 games ranked higher in population than Halo.

Edit: as of 11/1, there are three CODs ahead of Halo, MW2, MW1, Black Ops Cold War, with Vanguard right behind Infinite.

I don’t like CoD but it is indeed so much better than Infinite and I don’t understand how some of you are really wondering why.

It’s a Mature rated game with blood and gore, battle effects, explosions, decals etc. and also its multiplayer mode works fine. Of course it was going to be received a lot better than Infinite. Halo is better suited for being a similarly violent FPS although with some amount of goofiness involved, rather than a cartoon-like FPS of the likes of Fortnite, yet they chose that path for it and it was a big mistake.

Due to the way that Infinite looks and feels, it would be more appropriate to compare it to Fortnite or another game for kids, rather than CoD. The latter is a serious FPS.

shrug Maybe, maybe not.

I love Halo and I’ve been playing it since Combat Evolved but MW2 is gonna be the nail in the coffin for Infinite. 343 can’t get it together in time to save it. Forge will give Infinite a boost for a little while but with all the problems Infinite has I think its a wrap

It’s CoD it’ll have people complaining about it within three months then dead within 9 months like every other one.

Where you getting your data?
Doesnt seem accurate Rookie.

Multiple cods have a higher and more consistent player base than infinite and mcc do as of posting.
Further spec ops, mp, ground war and warzone2 are all scheduled with regular and consistent updates.
And the bp and store is yet to go live.

If people here are this dismissive of MWII they must really think forge is literal magic seeing how many of the same folks think itll be the magic fix for infinite.
Even with the winter update.
MWII has more BTB than the halo game whose marketing revolved around btb 2 years prior. :person_facepalming:

Multiple CODs existing simultaneously with populations above halos is anything but dead guys.
Like subjective opinion on quality and gameplay are valid.
But many folks are starting to look downright objectively deluded at this point haha.

Been waiting on this “if” for 11…almost 12 months now. Meanwhile COD works out the box. I agree with you about the gameplay mechanics of infinite, but those mechanics don’t matter much when the people have constant network issues playing multiplayer.

No matter how much content or how good a game is. If network issues make the game unplayable than the whole thing is ruined.

Simply put, MW2 is a better game for no other reason than it works. Minecraft is a better game than infinite currently strictly because the multiplayer works with little issues. A game like Halo, that is know for its multiplayer, cannot compete with other multiplayer games if their MP is broken.

Side note:
It’s kinda funny. Back in the day MW2 pulled me away from playing Halo. Now, after all these years, I’m still having more fun playing MW2 than i am playing Halo. I still got the new plague tale and scorn to play through too.

If you know you don’t like COD than don’t buy it. If you know you like COD, buy it. If you never played COD, take a chance. Especially if you are getting any amount of enjoyment out of Infinite and it’s current broken state. Your standards are clearly not high so why bother pretending MW2 is not worth your time.

Why have we just focused on CoD though? Here’s a lot of other FPS games doing great and putting Infinite to shame. What do they have in common? I’d say, identity.

Why do people try to compare these two games. Ones an arcade game and ones an arena shooter (basically a party game.) The only similarities they have is being “FPS” games, but they play significantly different from each other.

Case in point, I’m kinda over the whole arena shooter/power weapon design which is why lately I’ve exclusively played swat and team snipers. With team snipers going away I’m pretty much done with infinite and playing CoD instead because now a days I prefer that faster twitch based shooting, but again the two games are VERY different genre’s despite both being FPS games so again comparing them is dumb.

Aiming is better in CoD BTW. Not sure why you think its clunky when its way smoother and doesn’t have the slow turn speed/acceleration BS that Infinite has.

Comparison is the thief of joy.
