I generally hope we see Infinite continue the story of Halo 5. I did like Blue Team with Locke, Bucky and Co. and I’d really like to see Arbiter again and see where they have been between the events of Infinite and Halo 5. In the trailer we saw where Chief was floating around the rubble of a ship, I wonder if that was the rubble of UNSC Infinity from 4 and 5. Cause last we saw of them they were in slip space to run away from Cortana and that Promethean thing. hopefully we will get answers in Halo Infinite on this.

If you want to know what happens in-between the two games, the book “Halo: Shadows of Reach” sort-of bridges the time jump between the two games and could hold some plot points that expand in Halo: Infinite.

I am sure there will be some references. We technically do not know the story for this game yet and I doubt we will until the entire campaign is played through or they release more information on it. I do know that 343 is trying to return to its roots, so I doubt it will full on pick up where things left off. I do know that the “Banished” are the primary antagonist based on what has been released to us.
I’m affraid the game will be like the book “Shadow of reach”, every body trying to not draw the attention of Cortana and the entity. I hope the entity will be in the game at least. Will see in Infinite

Christ no, that was the worst Halo campaign ever. Way too much lore and nonsense, it needs to go back to Halo 1-3 simple story and characters. Master Chief needs to be in every mission you play, not 3 missions and the 12 other missions by some cheap knockoffs, who nobody cares about. I am sick to death of this invincible ship infinity and these AI’s controlling everything from ships to vibrating toys.
Halo 5 had a story?
I definitely had problems with Guardians’ story, but I actually really like the premise they’ve set up for infinite’s story so far in regards to it. We know something happened to Cortana after she broke bad but we’re not sure what. I think unraveling the mystery of what happened after 5 while simultaneously starting a new storyline involving the banished is a smart way of handling it, especially if they can interweave them together.
Of course, it largely comes down to its execution but I’m looking forward to the story.

I’m not asking to play as Locke and Co. I’m simply saying continue the story in terms of give us cutscenes here and there or narrative referencing where everyone is and all that. Of course I still wanna play as Chief in infinite. I hate stories where they start a story arch, then move away from it but not mentioning other games and characters etc.
the JJ Abrams Star Trek Films, the main issue I took with the third film was they literally ignored the events of Into Darkness like it never happened leaving the question what happened between each film etc. in Halo Infinite, I don’t want them to completely ignore the events of Halo 5 cause the Promethians are still a threat to the galaxy. So I kinda wanna know what’s up.

I think it’s more of a reboot, or redirection. Although I hope we get to see some old faces at some point; like Laskey and Buck.

To my knowledge, they said that you could pick up Infinite without needing to play the previous games. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were tie ins from the previous series.
Ok so read or just go halo wiki the book " shadows of reach" Then watch the halo 5 story trailer , the most recent one. After that alone you’re understand the direction halo infinite is going, and in short yes it does continue on from halo 5, just not right after 5.

I actually felt " hunt the truth" audio story was some of the best content ever in halo. such potential wasted.

Exactly!!! I was really invested in it. Keegan-Michael Key did an AMAZING job on that project.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the characters again but I definitely don’t want them to continue that awful story.
Thats not to say the story can’t be complex. Halo 4 had a great story.
i know in the books blue team and other spartens survive reach amd they have the shadows of reach book which moght be explaining some story between 5 and 6 (infinite) but is it just me that hated the way 343 all of a sudden left loads put of the games and insisted everyone should fill in the gaps theough some terrible greedy marketing plot! Its like blue team they threw them into halo 5… it was just to messy the fact they missed out where they have been the whole time and why they werent there to help chief in halo 1,2,3 and 4 then all of a sudden boom!..there they are in halo 5 with him! Npt everyone who plays the games reads the books and 343 have gotten way out of control with all there marketing missing stuff put the games to try sell extra merchandise! Also I just much prefered the older games when the soldiers see chief and its made out like hes the only spartan left and they say things like look a real spartan! Makes his character and you as the player of this character feel even more unique and unstoppable and i just cant stand those new spartans like Sarah Palmer who go on like there the dogs bollocks all coky and arrogant like there at master chiefs level when they really arent! They never went through any of the augmentations master chief did and i bet there training wasnt as extensive as it was for the original spartans like the chief! And as awfull as halo 5 was i hope they do continue and finsih off the halo 5 story caise to just leave it would be madness! To be fair even the trailers hint that the story will be continued due to chief still trying to catch up with Cortana… but my god 343 dont change loads of things all of a sudden and leave it out the games and expect people to fill in the gaps with books or other marketing! Also while on this subject id like to mention a theory ive had for a while now and im still sticking to it… i think the story will go a lazy way and they will find a way to go back in time before the events of halo 5 maybe even halo 4… in the trailers for infinte we have seen most the UNSC have been wiped out along with probably most other characters like team osirus, blue team sarah palmer etc anyway if the UNSC has been pretty much wiped out earth and other planets would have no defence and would be invaded and taken over or glassed it just wouldnt make sense to keep all those characters snd earths defensive army all dead and wiped out of existence i seriously think they will find a way to go back in time and undo it all! And possibly have it back to the way things were with chief and Cortana before her rampancy then they go see Halsey and get her sorted so she never ended up in the forunner system and turned evil which was another awful story decision in halo 5!
