Customization menu is a little jank other than that everything is fine. A lot of you are asking for settings or binds that are in the menu. Did you guys even try? Did you even look?
I honestly have very little negative critique for the UI thus far; I like it. It is clean and minimalistic and seems to be functioning 100% correctly on my end.
Navigating the Battle Pass menus and the storefront are also working perfectly, as far as I can tell. Well done.
EDIT: Oooh, I did just remember one bug to report: My emblem will often pop in and out during matchmaking, while it’s looking for a match. That’s it.
I joined a friend’s in-game party to play together but he was AFK, then I couldn’t leave his party. The leave button did nothing at all. I ended up having to force close the game.
Equipping all 4 prosthetic limbs in a row and then unequipping them seems to glitch the UI , first of all unequipping them won’t actually remove them visually and subsequently the UI itself gets mixed around and your right arm options will change your left leg, etc.
First and foremost, thank you for the preview – I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I agree with the sentiments that the UI isn’t exactly intuitive…
It took me a couple matches to figure out how to customize my Spartan via the main menu (LB/RB). I kept expecting it to be under settings.
Additionally, I’m not a big fan of having the ammo count in the bottom right of the screen. I would personally like to see it in the top right or at least have the option to change which quadrant of the screen it’s located in.
This one is big for me – I don’t like that the scoreboard in game is sticky and not hold to display. I don’t like respawning into chaos with the scoreboard covering the action!
There are some things that I would like an instant preview of (e.g., Button Puncher vs Recon. Right now you have to click on them individually and go back and forth to see the differences).
I would love the ability to set sensitivity for all weapon scopes at once. It was a little tedious setting the sensitivity for each, even though it’s a super cool idea to allow players to do that. Please keep this option in, but maybe allow for a “one size fits all” approach to sensitivity.
I would like better explanations of some of the options. Performance mode vs Quality – on a Series X what is the difference specifically in resolution and frame-rate?
As a suggestion, would love the ability to customize the menu background and font colors like you can in Doom Eternal. Different options would make the UI a little easier on the eyes, depending on player preference.
After match stats are almost impossible to read (white text on light grey background). Need better contrast.
So the battle pass is a little jank. I’m 50 xp away from level 20 and I can’t progress because you can only complete challenges and I completed them all. It the daily challenge is play pvp and this bit slayer doesn’t count towards it. So I’m stuck till tomorrow. The rest is nice aside from glitches in the menu being stuck in previous screens.
Don’t like the menus at all, all seems quite messy and difficult to navigate. Also seems to bug out if you switch between areas quickly - the camera will get stuck in a weird position until you “reset” by going to armor customisation or vehicle customisation.
Definitely needs an audio change for armor break and getting the kill / headshot. Hard to distinguish the two.
Alright, so here are some impressions in regards of the Battlepass/Customization:
First Off, I feel like having to unlock the Battlepass itself via playing to earn enough credits or buying it feels like a very unpleasant paywall. Especially because you only get to unlock any skins etc after unlocking the pass first. Changing this is a huge issue, because that is how you’ll basically make money with the MP since it is F2P. It will greatly depend on how expensive the pass will actually be to decide whether it feels fair or not. Because, and that brings me to the next point, i feel hardly any progress for playing the game. You only earn EXP for challenges, so you are not rewarded for actually playing. So it takes several games until you get any actual progress in the pass. I think this would be way better the way Halo:MCC handles progress. You have the feeling of actually progressing for each completed game, while challenges boost the progress and thus boost the feeling of actually achieving something. Right now it doesn’t even motivate me to check for new equipment.
Then the next thing…armor coatings. These feel like a huuuuuuge step backwards from earlier Halos, where you could color individual elements on your own. Now we have to unlock a fitting color combination? Honestly, knowing and using Tools Like Substance Painter, Substance Designer etc and knowing the possibilities of Materials in Engines, I’m really curious as to why this would be a hard thing to implement for a studio like 343. And by all means, anything said so far sounds more like “we need to make money, and people want to color their characters. That’s why we changed that feature so you have to either unlock your favorite color scheme by playing hundreds of hours, OR you pay for it.”
Not a good decision, not a great customer service. Rather cheap marketing mechanic.
Again, of course you don’t have to pay. And of course you guys need to make some money. But making the MP F2P feels like an overall mistake in general to me. I’d rather pay for Campaign+MP and be able to unlock everything just by playing (the way it was since Halo 3 Up to Halo 4!) than having to pay extra for certain features or having to play three to four times the amount of time than I’d have to the way it was. But this is my oppinion.
Overall the Battlepass-System doesn’t appeal to me at all in the moment. The only good thing about it, is that it is optional…
I do not post often but this time I will give you my PoV ont he current UI.
Please excuse me if I am going to repeat something that as already been said but reading through pages of feedback and remebering everything and everyone not really feasible for me at the moment. Also please excuse my bad english in case I make mistakes. Lastly I am expressing my criticism only to be as constructive as possibile and not to belittle anyone.
That is it for now.
Hi
Everything is very good, I feel like I have freedom in this battlepass, the only thing that I think it can be better is the way to have more xp for the battlepass, not just from the challenges, that’s is a little bit slow and annoying, I thin it could be better if you can get xp fot the battlepass only for play Or win in matches, that would be better, any way, it’s such a great game and a great job, I love you 343
Xbox Specific:
Personally not a fan of the menu UI. It does not feel intuitive. I’m ~8 hours in and still get lost. I don’t feel the headers for pages have enough contrast either - they were difficult to locate at first. Playing on a Xbox One X and the frame rates seem poor. Sprinting around and looking 180 degrees back and forth feels really blocky/clunky. Visual presentation of medals is utterly lackluster; they certainly don’t match the energy of announcer (who is phenomenal). To end on a positive note - the gunplay, gun sound fx, hit registration and map design are fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed myself today. Thanks for your continued efforts in making the best Halo experience possible.
So, i’ve been playing a lot today but i can’t lvl up despite of using xp boost. And there’s also a this challenge that it says that I have to play any PvP matches, but no matter how many times i play a game, it stills on 0.
An option to have more decimal places of precision while setting sensitivity would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps being able to click the sensitivity number and type our own?
Challenges for Battle Pass don’t seem to register the first requirement properly:
For example I unlocked the Kill 50 Spartans Challenge. On my first match, I had 11 kills but only 10 kills registered. Every match afterwards counted correctly.
Another example I have to play 6 Matches. The first match didn’t count, but every match afterwards counted.
It’s almost as if the first requirement for a Challenge is 0 and then 1,2,3, etc. etc.

@snickerdoodle the links in the OP are not leading anywhere btw. I had to manually search for each individual topic.
Hi.
The battlepass is really good, and it could be better, I just feel like is very slow to get xp for the battlepass, it could be better to get xp for that just by playing or winning matches you know? Or well that’s my opinion hehehehe.
Any way, you could put on the battlepass animations or posses for the animation of the beginning and ending of a match, it would be really awesome if you do that, far from that every thin is really good and I know you are doing a really good job, love u all on 343i thanks for this game
