Scoreboard:
The scoreboard is a little small. Having an option to change the size of it would be a good addition IMO.
Also, i’m not a fan of it being at the bottom, i think top right would be a better spot but that’s just me.
Medals:
They aren’t big enough! Halo 3 and Reach had a very good system for these and i think it should be like that.
On the interface as such it is from a very basic point of view worse also dynamic in terms of less and navigation, however there are times when one gets confused since it was the custom that a key was accessed to the general menu and another to customization, etc … in the settings that would come in handy as seen in past games, there should be options on which modes, maps, and others can be chosen in addition to streamlining or making the interface in general more accessible.
Hi! I consider making the Battle Pass menu more intuitive and simple as it can be cluttered with information and confusing. That earning EXP / level progression from the battle pass is more rewarding, such as winning games or getting a certain number of kills, since gaining a level only with challenges can be repetitive at times.
I feel that the UI is a little bit too cluttered, maybe have fewer layers/panels. For example, you have to click through like 3 submenus just to equip a weapon skin or a piece of armour, lessen up the layers of the UI in menus, please.
2. Might just be me, but I prefer a vertical menu, rather than a horizontal one, I know that isn’t really possible in the Battle Pass menu, but in the armour hall, and weapons table, try to make it a vertical menu, much like how halo reach does it.
3. Just a bug: When I went into settings to turn off spartan chatter, the game would still play the audio and subtitles of spartan chatter would still appear, in short, changing the spartan chatter setting to “off”, didn’t do a thing.
4. I also think the scoreboard after a game should be team stats and scores, and then another submenu should show your personal stats and medals, like in previous games, the team stats would show up first, and then depending on the player u click on, their (or your) personal stats and medals would appear.
5. I think that after a match, the game should automatically start to search for another match, much like how halo 5 and halo MCC do it. Also, make the customization menu more accessible because personally, I like to customize my armour and weapons while the game is searching for another match, which helps to pass the time.
Here are a few of my thoughts on how to improve certain aspects of the game:
Remove ability to buy levels in the seasonpass. I can assure you people will have all levels by the first day of the season which is utter nonsense as it takes away the sensation of archieving something, like the recon armor in H3 for example. That legendary armor wouldve been worthless if it was out for sale as well and could be obtained through the challenges
1.1. Every finished match should give you like 50 exp for your season pass progress 50 if you win 25 if you lose. Only challenges to gain points is way too slow and doesnt feel rewarding at all.
When you unlock new stuff as customization it should be marked with a “new” branding. Sometimes i was struggling to find the stuff i unlocked lol
Obviously assassinations but those will be added later. I hope though not too late!!! Add them as fast as possible please! They have also become a major part of halo imo. You can also add the option to turn assassinations off in the settings as always, for those who go a more e-sporty route.
Medals in game are too small they seem very unimportant but in my opinion the main fun comes from earning different medals. They should be at least twice as big as they are now and they should be shown on the left side right above the “Kill-Texts”
Im not quite sure if this is the right place to post this but the regular sound of the plasma pistol is imo horrible. It should sound more like the Halo CE plasma pistol.
I feel like the Commando model is a little bit off. Im not quite sure why but every time i was using the commando i was aiming slightly left to where the enemy actually was.
The BR is perfect i wouldnt change it.
The AR is also very great. Finally its useful lol
Hitboxes are absolutely amazing! You did an amazing job with those!
Armor coating are great so far but it would be much better if we needed to unlock the coating itself, but could chose which color we want to use for it. This way we could have the best of both worlds.
There should be way more Daily challenges. Im not quite sure if this was a limitation due to the Technical Preview being… well a preview but we should dwfinitely have enough options open to gain Exp for the season pass.
And please add rotating your spartan in the customization menu
The radar is quite useless ro be honest. 20m is just not enough because if the radar shows an enemy, that enemy is most likely shooting at you already. Please increase the radar distance.
13.1. Now i dont know if this was me but the radar would have trouble showing the Bots during gameplay. Im not quite sure why but sometimes the Bots would not show up on the radar.
This is all i can think off currently. I might add new stuff if it comes to my mind. They may not all be UI themed but it just wrpte down what came to my mind.
In summary though the Tech preview was alot of fun and i cannot wait for the next flights coming especially PvP flights. You guys did an amazing job and this Preview felt more like Halo than Halo 4 and 5 combined!

> >
> > 5. When holding the grappling hook, you should have an indicator on the crosshair that tells you when you can or cant fire it at a surface. It’s pretty annoying when you try to grapple a surface mid combat only to get killed because the surface was only slightly too far away.

> There already is an indicator in the middle of the crosshair that shows up for the grapple hook if you’re able to use it in the spot you look at. Granted it’s really tiny and a yellow X.
Really? I guess we just didnt see it. They should probably make it a bit more noticeable, then.
Also, I find that I don’t get XP for the game I have played, but only for completed challenges, as a result, when I completed every single challenge, I stopped earning XP, I understand this was a tech preview, and that might be when earning XP was so limited and hard, but for the main game, please handle earning multiplayer XP like how Halo MCC does it, through in-game XP, and challenge XP.

I agree with this guy, the AR is finally a viable, useful first option type weapon, please don’t change it.
And again, please add Assassinations ASAPPP.
This guy was SPOT ON with his feedback
I saw this coming up on Twitter so often and it should be addressed in some official tweet. “There is no exp gain at all” I know there was a post which states it was a big but people are so concerned that you will only gain exp through challenges and it would make the game not enjoyable. I mean there will be probably an exp progression similar to MCC at least I hope so. So I think this is already addressed since the build was 2 months old and the Flight didnt include the exp thank you for listening
Found the UI to be not intuitive. In some instances it just looped (Xbox series x) and more often or not my Spartan avatar disappeared completely!
I completed a few challenges but my progress didn’t progress past 1!
battle pass was fine but felt gimmicky, no real reward for progress. All felt like a money making scheme. I would prefer to pay full price for a game and get it all included. I do t want halo to be like CoD!

Okay in this case all is great. I just thought mentioning it would do no harm have a nice day my dude
I think one thing that could be changed is really the outlines on enemies. I think if your teammates are highlighted in blue or even have their service tag above their character, most players would find it intuitive that anybody that doesn’t have that tag would be an enemy. While it’s nice to have whatever armor coating you want, the outline really draws your attention from the enemie’s customization. I think doing something like this would kind of solve that issue.
UI/UX
-In Weapon Drills, accessing the pause menu, settings, or any new weapon drills will cause a serious flickering issue 100% of the time on Xbox One.
-Most nameplates appear as pink or don’t show up at all in-game
-In Vehicle Bay, sometimes the Scorpion’s treads will be angled down, clipping through the floor.
-In Vehicle Bay, the Scorpion’s skirts and tow hooks will react to the physics of rotation very aggressively. The turret will also lag behind the rest of the tank, making it possible to spin the tank fast enough to cause the turret to rotate 360 degrees.
-The Play menu and Multiplayer submenu does not consistently show all active members of the fireteam or their Spartans.
-The Fireteam UI under the Multiplayer section will disappear and reappear at seemingly random intervals.
-The “Hide UI” option should be more consistent across all tabs in Customization.
-On the customization screen, when editing the Gloves or Hip sockets in the armor hall, it’s about 50% likely that the Spartan will not return to their original stance after exiting the socket. The problem is easily fixed by entering and exiting the same socket(s) again.
-There are issues with the textures and normal maps on the rotating platform in the Vehicle bay.
Customization/Battle Pass
-Players should unlock both shoulders of a set at once in the final Pass. Unlocking separately feels like unnecessary bloating.
-The option to view currently equipped is very good and works great.
-Traditional color selection should return at some point in the future
-Personal AI should have a voice preview, similar to firefight voices
-Helmets should not be locked to armor cores
-Armor designs and attachments are fantastic
The UI did a good job showing who was in a fire team when searching through your friends list, but once you joined a fire team it became very difficult to know who was in a party with you. There were a few times I joined a group of friends and couldn’t see the names of who was in there with me, just emblems. I would like to see a party system similar to MCC or classic Halo where the fire team is in a list on the right hand side.
Also, the in game HUD UI was cluttered. I found myself searching the top corners for grenade and ammo constantly. Having grenade 1/2, weapon 1/2 and equipment down in the corners felt like too much information in one place. I would prefer a legacy option to move the Ammo + classic style bullet counter to one top corner, grenades to the other top corner. Scoreboard to the bottom right. Radar looked good and the health bar was super clean as is.
This critique is nitpicky, but I didn’t like having the buttons show for the grenades and equipments. I know my control scheme and it felt like unnecessary information on screen. I understand the appeal for new players picking up the game for the first time, but I would love to see an option to turn these off to keep the HUD streamlined.
Lastly, the scoring and Medal system as is doesn’t feel right. I found myself missing what medal I received due to the size of them, plus the score showing every time I killed someone felt unnecessary. The scoring should be left for postgame and the medals should be moved to the killfeed similar to the past Halos. I loved the toned down frequency of the medals, but the current placement still felt like too much on screen.
I like to move so sprint should be there. I want a hardcore mode because it takes too many bullets to take a spartan down. Mount would be lovely. And it would be cool if you guys had loadouts. I think special weapons should be dropped on the field but I believe each spartan should enter the match with their loadout and pick up specialty items for either that particular map or at random. I’m just a true believer of if you can do it in real life it should be simulated in gameplay. The more lifelike movements and actions really brings immersion to being in a match. People may not like sprint but it’s necessary because you can do it in real life. Same thing with mount. I’d just rather it would be there than not. Black ops cold War took both tactical sprint and mount that was a total mistake. I should be able to lay also. This would add depth to movements during gameplay. I want to be able to trick my enemy. Sometimes It feels like see and shoot. When using tact to survive a match I should be able to crawl, kneel, lay, mount and sprint. I should be able to make it out of a fire fight by sprinting past a corner. I would do this in real life it should be in gameplay. Every true halo fan wants most things to remain the same but that’s mainly why there aren’t that many new fans. It’s all about the fluid movements and gunplay. I don’t want it to feel like I’m playing another halo game. I want it to feel like I’m on another planet in a warzone with dope weapons. Slide needs improvements also. It feels useless. When I use it, it feels clunky not very smooth. Sprint and slide are essential to go getters. Also I would love for the target or screen reticle not be there for more realism. So if you have like a hardcore mode where being shot is critical I believe the screen target or reticle should not be there players should not receive help for hip fire only when ADS is being used. Didn’t know where to post so I posted here.
I think the medals should be changed. Right now they are pretty small on-screen and their colours are very generic and boring.
They could be changed so that they have more cooler diversity, and rarity is indicated by the size of the medal on-screen, with bigger medals being larger on-screen.
The battle pas progression and level up seems a bit too hard at the moment, not sure if it’s just a glitch since the flight is 2 months behind on the actual build of the game but I wish we got XP for actually playing the game AND doing challenges, not just from challenges. Also whenever I did challenges I feel that I didn’t even get any XP from them

> The UI is not good for in game. Feels too generic. Like the classic Lowered Crosshair is gone, The visual Bullet counter is replaced by the dime a dozen numbered ammo counter, everything feels a bit off and doesn’t feel very Halo to me.
>
> The Zoom is also a bit off as it doesn’t go in as far as expected for a zoom. If it’s for an assault Rifle it’s fine, but Zoom should be increased by a tiny bit but have no effect on range.
I mostly agree. I prefer the centered crosshair myself, but maybe an option to swap between them would be nice. Like we have in MCC. I would like the classic halo UI design to come back though. The generic numbered ammo counter is nothing particularly special and a weird adjustment. Especially when it’s cluttered up with everything else at the bottom half of the screen.
Played on the Series X. Gameplay felt great with only a bit of input lag. Getting into games was iffy but that was expected. The UI and Menus feel good my main issue is with the Battle Pass tied to the challenges. Everything seems to be working fine which i know is the main takeaway but the fact you aren’t getting rewarded for playing matches is a major drawback. if you can only progress the BP through challenges that hurts the players like me who can only play a few nights a week. When i get on a grind for a few hours and want to feel rewarded and if I have no challenges to do and get nothing for playing a game although yes its fun but it takes a bit of that feeling away that I accomplished something. Here is to hoping the final release has gains for playing as well as completing challenges.
Game feels amazing though good stuff everyone and can’t wait to play the final product!! Halo feels amazing!
UI
Medals - Probably one of my biggest gripes with the Infinite UI. Medals are meant to be the result of noteworthy actions in the game, yet they take up such a small part of the UI, it’s disappointing. The medals themselves are really underwhelming, I feel like they’re becoming duller in terms of design. What happened to the colourful designs from past Halos? Killing Frenzy, Running Riot, Rampage… they all look near identical. Doubt it’d make it in for release but it’d be great to see some animation on the medals, maybe surrounded by fire or lightning for some of the rarer medals?
Grenades - No indication that you’ve picked up a grenade, i’d like to see something similar to Halo 3 which briefly shows a +1 where the grenade icon is on the UI.
Challenges - There’s no visual feedback in-game when you complete a challenge, only at the end of the match. Would be good to see even a small notification somewhere that states you’ve finished a challenge.
Post Game Carnage Report - I’m really not a fan of this new layout. Where’s the tool of destruction stats? I want to know who killed me the most, who did I kill the most? The postgame scoreboard UI has about 5 pages of content however there’s no visual indication of this, I only found it by accident on the last day of the flight. Perhaps put something on the UI showing how many pages there are to it?
Weapons
Pulse carbine - Feels inconsistent and frustrating to use. I can’t work out what range it is best at, with the plasma shots sometimes tracking enemies, sometimes not. Bots however, do know how to use it and melt your shield in an instant with it.
Gravity Hammer - Already been stated but I much prefer the old hammer, it takes too long to use and I feel like it doesn’t live up to it’s name. I want to see spartans fly when I hit them with it!
Grenades - Frag/plasma grenades feel weak both in terms of damage to enemies and visually. Feel like the explosions are underwhelming. Spike grenades on the other hand are superb and I find myself picking them up often due to how useful they are now, especially in enclosed areas.
