Infinite Tech Preview – UI & LIVE

UI issues (perhaps exclusive to Ultrawide monitors):

  1. Character screens & team intro animations are in Vert- (stretched out to fill borders, but cuts off the heads and feet)
  2. When adjusting the Horizontal margins on the UI, all gun reticles disappear completely

I had serious problems listening to the spartan talk and the ia. The console I go is xbox one fat and I don’t know if that could have been a problem when listening to the voices of the spartans (bots). I am not sure if that could have been a problem when you can hear the voices of the spartans (bots). I would like to see them using a weapon even if you do not start the game with that weapon. Something that I thought was a good idea to add to some upcoming battle pass is to be able to insert a chip in the back of the spartan’s neck as a presentation at the beginning of the game. That would look impressive and admirable giving an air to what the master boss did in campaign mode.

challenges that require you to play in ways that don’t contribute to the team need to be removed, such as getting a melee kill from behind. The best way to do this is to probably sit in a corner and wait for someone, instead of playing the game and helping your team.

The UI definitely needs alot of work. Too many redundancies and it takes to long to get to settings that were basically a button press or two away in Halo Reach.

Some Additions Many of Us Would Like to See:

  1. Headbob Slider: Ability to reduce/eliminate headbob (as it wasn’t scaled to FoV) those at lower FoV were affected by aggressive/dizzying sway
  2. Controller Acceleration Increase: Double (at minimum) the about of acceleration controller players can add to their Horizontal & Vertical Look while at full input
  3. Ramp Up TIme: Add a slider that grants controller players the ability to fine tune the speed at which Look Acceleration is applied after outer deadzone is met
    Thank you for your time,
    Cannot Wait!

> In general, there doesn’t seem to be great support for ultrawide at the moment. Understandable, of course; but I also don’t have an option to change my fullscreen resolution to a more standard 16:9 aspect ratio anywhere.

My 32:9 monitor was recognized natively, however, there were many scaling issues and many Vert- issues in character screens & the team intro scenes (no heads, LUL)

UI/Appearance

  1. Personally I think the ammo count/grenades should be moved to the top right of the screen, having everything in the bottom right is just a weird position and it feels way to crowded to see anything.

  2. I think the friends list should have a name search feature so I don’t have to tediously scroll through my entire friends list.

  3. While the intros are going on I should be able to press tab/back button to see who’s on my team and on the enemy team.

  4. I also am not a big fan of the intros and think we should just see the map/ show where all the power ups are.

  5. Listening to the AI/Spartan chatter is extremely annoying. Give us a feature to turn it off and/or please tone it down. Hearing OVER YANDER every 10 seconds is annoying.

  6. Please let us change what our reticle looks like.

  7. Sometimes the battle pass glitched out and wouldn’t set the spartan color/armor i picked

  8. Make sure we can see our teammates service tags mid game.

Confusing UI, too many steps, poor readability. I am often lost in menus and functions that are not clear.

The medals should be more visible, perhaps making them larger

The hud is strange, very beautiful, but sometimes a little uncomfortable, having all the information in the lower part of the screen is not the best. Furthermore, the counting of bullets with numbers is not easy to interpret, the old system with drawn bullets is better

having only a dot above the head of allies is useless, you must also show their tag or at least the gamertag

You should be rewarded XP after winning or completing games, or have an unlimited amount of daily challenges. Playing for hours and not progressing anything on the battle pass because challenges are time gated does not feel fun.

I believe it would be beneficial to be able to mute individual people in game.

Several games I played people sounded like they were eating a bag of corn chips as loud as possible. It didn’t ruin the experience, it just would have been cool to be able to mute the person without manors.

Ex: Pull up score board mid game, highlight the character with a pulsing microphone and then press whatever button is required to complete the task.
And to un-mute, do all in reverse.

UI seems great overall IMO.

You guys (343) have done a great job. I was looking forward to the game way before the flight, but I am dying to get the full game now!!!

Xbox Series X flighter here, just a note (and an apology if this in the wrong place - the Xbox feedback thread gave me a 404 error): I had a UI bug when entering a match-in-progress where the HUD completely disappeared. It was fixable by heading into settings and toggling the HUD on and off, but it meant no reticle for part of the match which was a bit of an issue!

Side note, just totally stoked with what I’ve played so far. Can’t wait for Holiday.

one of the things that kept happing with the store is that the square and rectangular icons would show but the actual cosmetic skin would not show it would just be an empty icon box,
I would love to see the battle bass be underneath the multiplayer icon or even under the weapons drill so that it’s easy to see and accessing for young and new players. additionally, I would love the loading time would be less between the skin and weapons skins changing.

I also would love to see the challenges to be on the main menu of the game so that its easier to see what battle pass challenge you can do to keep track

but over the game was great and it brought me back to the halo i know and love

I found the interface to be very fluid and intuitive, however there were several errors that occurred to me:

  • When I saw the prostheses I changed them but when I selected one the avatar did not make the changes.
-In the battle pass, the images of the objects did not appear, both in the boxes and in the background.
-When selecting a player image from the app, it did not update it in the game.
  • when finishing the changes to the apartan, these changes were not reflected in the menu.
  • AI appearances were not displayed in the preview icons.
  • the menu sound is sometimes not heard when exiting a game.
images in the news section do not load.
-data about map and mode details do not load.
-When searching for a game it loads but stays at 0% and I had to restart the game.

Since there isn’t an official thread for overall Halo Infinite feedback, I’m just gonna post this here.

343 said awhile ago that Halo Infinite was going to be a spiritual reboot to bring Halo back to it’s roots giving it a more classic Halo feel. But from what I’ve experienced firsthand during the beta, it didn’t feel like that was the case. Don’t get me wrong, I truly enjoyed the beta and I’m still looking forward to Halo Infinite. However it felt like 343 just took CoD and Destiny, mashed them together, and gave it a Halo themed paint job. The menus were too cluttered and tedious to navigate, the gameplay felt generic, I’m not a big fan of the shader system being in Halo, and personally I think adding the battle pass and store was a bad idea. The game didn’t FEEL like Halo. I understand that it was an early beta and the game isn’t finished yet, but I hope the final product will feel more like Halo instead of a weird CoD/Destiny crossover.

I think the customisation and battlepass menus can be greatly improved. It seems like these menus kind of force a horizontal scroll which keeps the screen less cluttered but makes it kind of tedious to scroll across.

I can understand this with the battlepass as this is progression from left to right. However, for the armor customisation it would probably suit being vertical more or at least using some more space that way. Maybe each item could point to the specific part on your Spartan and you can scroll over it that way.

Also, would get missing renders on the BP and customisation screens sometimes.

Hello,
I dont have much to say, only two things :

  • We should earn battlepass XP after each game (not only with challenges)
  • battlepass should award CR toi reimburse itself.
  1. BATTLE PASS
The Battle Pass concept is good, but it could be improved a little bit.
    A. Suggestions:
    i. Add a little bit of credit to the Battle Pass, which players can earn, other games add enough credit to make up the purchase for the battle pass, I don’t think this is needed here since these passes never run out, but maybe you could add ¼ of what the pass is worth in credits in there where Players can spend it in the shop then.

ii. The way you earn Exp through challenges is great and is perfect as it is, but it would be great if you could also earn EXP by simply just playing the game, what I had in mind is to earn 50 exp when you win a match and 25 exp when you lose a match, that way ppl that play casually can earn more exp combined with the daily and weekly challenges, this could also bring more engagement from these players and prob the most player base since they get the feel of progressing even when they finished all the challenges.

  1. QUALITY OF LIFE (UI)
This section is for feedback on the HUD and other smaller things that could be improved.
    i. I noticed that many people in the community think that the team score should be placed above the Health/Armor indicator.

ii. Some people wish that the ammo count is also in the upper corners as well as the minimap, I actually like it on the lower corners, what I suggest is maybe give people an option in the settings where they can choose if they want it on the upper corners or lower corners, same could be applied for the score.

Game felt pretty good. A little barebones but that’s to be expected with a preview test, and was explicitly stated beforehand. Have a few concerns, and positive notes. I do hope this is considered.

Negatives:

  1. At first glance, this feels like the store, cosmetics, and more are going to be heavily monetized. There seemed to be more of a focus on buying through the store being developed and tested here rather than natural progression

  2. MUST earn experience and/or balance/currency through playing the game, NOT JUST CHALLENGES.

  3. Armor skins and paint customization needs to be a bit more customizable. If I can only color my Spartan by picking shaders, we will fall intot he same issues Destiny had over half a decade ago. I hould be able to make my spartan Blue with black accents without jumpting through hoops or paying for it, Additionally, some of the paint schemes could be cool if I could edit their colors.

Positives:

  1. Armors looked good and were interesting.

  2. The UI was basic, but that’s again to be expected. IF this is the style infinite is going for, that’s not a bad style

  3. Challenges, while scarce, were easy to complete and didn’t feel too oppressive at all.

Apologies for typos, was mid-conversation with my gf while typing!

My only gripe is how the battle pass works. Only progressing through challenges feels very limited, would rather the xp gap per level be bigger and have multiplayer games contribute to progression
