Only some visual problems in the interface of the battle pass such as a bug in which the background screen turns black or that the items do not load correctly at least on Xbox one s
and in Series X the same but less frequently
In general, all this battle pass seems fair considering that the multiplayer will be free
The UI can feel clunky and unintuitive, also some of the buttons like ‘game type’ and ‘map type’ don’t work. My main issue is how it is not obvious to go to the battlepass while
queuing for a game. And how it’s confusing to navigate to the customization section while queuing for a game.
My two biggest complaints with the UI is that everything being clustered in the bottom right feels wrong, it takes me longer to find what I’m looking for. My second issue is grenades, there needs to be a way to see both grenades and how many you have of each at all times.
Forgot to mention, I don’t know if I was being stupid or if it wasn’t there, I couldn’t find a “mute” option for teammates in game - some guy sounded like he was making love to his drink, it was awful, sounded like he was gargling mayonnaise at one point while mouth breathing heavily. Please make it easier to mute players
UI, battle pass and Store interface
Okay first the good, the interface is very well done, it is very clean and it is responsive when going to other sections, it has several functions such as hiding the interface to appreciate the spartan, the vehicle, the weapons, the AI, among others. ,
The store is clear when it comes to buying what you are looking for and the battle pass is really good and a variety of cosmetics and visors.
Now the bad thing is that it has sub menus on how to mark something as a favorite, or how to equip things or see the accessories of the helmets,
Suddenly the menu can be bogged down if we want to go quickly to another section leaving the player without visualization. And I don’t like how activating the double experience is very far-fetched when activating it, it is recommended that at the beginning of each game an option to activate the double experience.
And finally I really liked the daily challenges, it encourages the player to complete them and make them easy so as not to make it difficult for them to play.
And the customization of the spartan is good that you have your armor core and that only pieces that have a connection to the core at first seemed restricted but when I experience it I like it, just by imagining my spartan with an armor core from Halo 5 with Heiloskrill armor looks cool to me.
The menu design is excellent, I like the music but I would like different soundtracks of the game to be played, I like the idea of the store and the battle pass with the latter, I feel the experience points were few since many did not We were able to finish it but personally I like that implementation with challenges and everything, the weapons and armor customization menu is excellent but it took a long time to load for me, who is from xbox one fat, the sound of the narrator, the spartan and the I loved weapons because they were old school, I would like the medals to be a little bigger and to be in another part of the screen, to finish what I saw are simple errors that I hope they look better later.
- UI
I am aware that this build was several months old, but if the current UI is their direction, I’m quite saddened. Halo has always been futuristic, with a hint of militarism. This UI felt like COD/Windows 10. Again, this could be due to the build age/placeholders/etc… but it just didn’t feel Halo at all. The music, however, was fantastic, and other than the absence of the classic “beep, beep, beep, BOOOP” of the match countdown timer, the audio design was pretty great. I say great because there wasn’t anything that stood out as “oh that’s awesome” but there wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. From a technical aspect, all the menus and transitions were fairly crisp, quick, however, it felt like there was a lot of gfx loading lag. it felt like navigating a website, more than a game that was supposedly installed locally. Some other minor issues were a few of the vehicles were not zeroed to the floor, meaning they were phased through the floor slightly. - Armour Coatings/Customization
This one has me on the fence. I love that there are now patterns and “material” changes to go with the armour colours. What I don’t like is the lack of colour control. I feel like the specific pattern or material coating could be what is common/rare/epic, while the colours themselves would be universally available. Just my thoughts. I ended up tending to wear an epic coating purely because it was Epic (and yes, because that tickled my sense of worth lol), and not my usual green colouring. While I don’t feel like locking certain items to certain cores is the best way to go, it’s honestly not that big of an issue for me.
Didn’t get to play the game myself but from what I’ve seen, I would love to see the hud be improved. Could be simplified and more straightforward.
But from an outsider’s perspective, the game looks promising.
The screen where you view battle pass progress should show how many credits you have before you attempt to buy levels. They’re in a weird spot and can be hard to see without going through another menu.
We should at least get 100xp from completing matches. That’s still 5 matches per level, which would be nice instead of getting level capped if you complete all your challenges. From level 0, that’s 500 matches to max out your pass if it’s 100 levels.
We need to be able to remove or reduce outlines. I would also love an option to have outline options such as “Off > Teammates > Both” so I can have that classic feel by removing enemy outlines
Add additional options for UI. I like having allies as yellow on the radar, but I hate yellow outlines. I’m sure some people are the same, so separate radar colors from “Friendly UI” or just make allies yellow.
Add an RvB toggle. We know 343 is capable of overriding player skins, we’ve seen it in MCC. Add an option that follows your friendly and enemy UI color choices so people who have trouble with the outline system can play with Reds vs Blues. Make it an option though. Do not get rid of the outline system, just make it an option to replace it with RvB.
Add a separate option for personal shield feedback colors. Blue outlines are fine, I love them. I don’t love the blue shields on my character. It would be a nice layer of customization to how we play. Obviously it only applies to your view because it’s only for you, but I personally would love having orange shields again, or maybe one day I want them purple. I don’t want these to be based on my outline color.
Let us remove the reload indicator
The Commando feels weird with such a high scope zoom. It would feel better at 2x or 1.5x instead of 3x.
In terms of reorganizing it, that’s more a personal preference thing, I don’t really have an issue, it could be a bit cleaner I suppose, but I’m sure that will happen over time, however, there is a lot that is missing!
Every single Graphics setting on either console should have an image of an example next to it for people unfamiliar, especially since FOV will be coming to console, and technically mobile! look to cod for a good example of how everything has a photo, heck you could even have the menu spartan pushed to the side and have things change live.
The new adjustable outlines for MP are great, I like that I can change them all, but I’m sure some people will want them off completely, please make sure every single UI feature has an OFF button. If someone wants to play with nothing, they should be able to.
Don’t have the game update settings as you toggle them… please add an apply settings button. changing the internal resolution is just silly, especially when you have a CPU limited game that barely runs on ryzen 3000
make it easier to see my daily challenges and things, kinda hidden tbh.
and give us a lot more in-game money, or even like a 0$ button that gives us more. so we can keep spending it on stuff. find limits break those limits.
I felt it was a bit weird to see that I had to go back to the main menu to customise my Spartan.
If I had searched for a match made game I have to click B, go all the way back through some menus just to get to the customisation page.
I would love to see this on the start button or something easier to get to on the fly.
The customization menus have lots of bugs such as vehicle section that there’re some bugs in showing vehicles.
The weapons customization menu is so poor and it could be better.
The spartan customization menu is fine but colors are so limited, mabe this option is better to full back to halo 5’s color system.
The body and ai menu have some bugs in loading hands and legs models.
The battle pass had no battlepass currencies for earn.
Challenges are fine
The settings need more work, for example :
Most of the display settings on xbox one wasn’t working like motion blur amounts or other things. Only fov was fine.
In game ui wasn’t the thing that i counted. It was completely different from the thing that 343i showed us at first campaign gameplay triler. For example the armor refill was different and i don’t like this.
The main menu had lots of bugs on loading background models like the pelican or the field on xbox one.
Hi. I played extensively this passed weekend all the way up to this morning.
I want to say that I actually really enjoyed the whole game overall, that includes the UI. I will agree with a few others that mentioned the ability to see your credit balance in an easier, more visible kind of way on the battlepass screen or even the title screen. I felt that the organization of menus was slightly a little much on the eyes, maybe tune down the multiple amounts of ways you can access a single menu such as the battlepass. In general I felt the in-game UI was spot on and the options available to the player even just in a beta test, exceeded expectations. All in all, this was a beautiful design compared to other Halos.
i didn’t find the battle pass to be as “player focused” as originally thought. The challenges are the only way to progress that xp game. It would be nice to see 3 daily challenges with one focusing on 1 of 3 core processes such as complete x matches, while the other two should be more match challenges like get a double kill, but the dailies should be able to be swapped too and they only come from those specific pools.
I found that the xp boost should be given a match limit rather than a time limit. 10min is the average slayer match, so unless you have a solid group, let’s call it 3 matches only for xp boost. This allows for players to not meet time constraints they can’t make due to emergencies that pop up or other family duties. Unless you can easily change it so that you get 3 matches per boost until complete, maybe set it to expire in 24hrs or at challenges reset time.
I would also like to see the match badges you earn go towards either battle pass or something so it’s more than just match bragging rights. They don’t have to be worth much, but gives incentive to do better.
knockout city has a career challenge tracker that awards xp at milestones and something similar would be nice.
I would like to see some type of glide to ground or wing suit implementation since this is the future
enjoyed my time in and can’t wait to return. Hope you release MP early for all to allow greater feedback before launch and just continue building on it while we play. Don’t just lock it to the campaign game only.
also one last thing. Sorry devs! Bring ALL the halo maps back for use. This is 20yrs in the making. I know that’s a big ask
Sorry about my post, wrong forum
All of the menus look very similar, so when backing out of the customization menu I end up mashing the ‘esc’ key to get back to main the menu. Then, I realize I’m just flipping between the settings menu and the main menu. The UI is very ‘menus within menus’ and it can be easy to get lost in it.
The XP boosts should be on the challenge screen - it doesn’t make sense for me to be looking at a challenge and have to go to the battlepass screen to activate an xp boost. Either that or add it to the matchmaking menu similar to the implementation in Halo 5.
Fireteam roster is bugged in matchmaking/main menu. It should show everyone’s GT, emblem, nameplate, service tag, etc including the player’s. I found myself questioning if everyone was in my fireteam or not because it wouldn’t display the whole group visually - I had to rely on the fraction. Building on this, the fireteam invite system does not work. We could send invites to each other but neither of us got notifications to actually join the team - we had to join on them manually. (PC user here if that helps).
Where is the matchmaking roster for pregame lobbies? I’d like to see and chat with who I’m playing with/going up against before a match and see everyone’s spartan. The matchmaking system and game selection in MCC is really good - just do that but incorporate the lobby’s spartans visually. Matches should queue continuously so players aren’t constantly having to re-queue for the same modes after every match.
My understanding of the armor cores mean that all pieces associated with that core cannot be used on other cores. I would like this to be opened up if possible to allow cross compatibility for at least helmets and shoulder pieces. Pieces don’t have to have 100% fit and finish, enhanced player choice is better.
I’m worried the customization UI is going to be cumbersome to navigate as we build our armor halls. Switching between armor pieces will become a chore because we will have to scroll to entire ends of the horizontal stack to find the piece we want. I’m worried it’ll be come a cluttered mess like in Halo 5 where it’s impossible to find what you want. Can we use our mouse to equip and unequip items? It’s very unnatural to equip things with ‘F’, let alone a key in the first place on PC.
Unbind keybind option.
UI is difficult to navigate, and the battlepass needs descriptions for each item…and the ability to preview it on your spartan
I had a problem with challenges not reflecting kills/matches accurately (such as I get 22 kills and it only showed that I got 14 in the challenges). I also had some issues where when I finished a challenge it would not award the XP.
Below is my feedback for the menus and UI in the first Halo Infinite Technical Preview:
- The Battle Pass does not appear to clearly indicate which rewards in a Tier are free and which ones require the full premium Battle Pass. - Players should also be able to earn small amounts of XP for other accomplishments in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer, not just for completing semi-random (and limited) challenges. Completed matches, victories, and game performances (including earning rare medals) should all contribute to an “end-of-match” XP count, even if it is a much smaller amount on average than most challenges. - I don’t see any reason why players shouldn’t also be able to swap Daily Challenges as well as Weekly Challenges for the Battle Pass. - Whenever you progress to a new Tier in the Battle Pass, you do not get an update on what exactly you unlocked. There should absolutely be some kind of animation for new rewards, and possibly an option to immediately equip the new reward (if it’s a customization item) or use it (if it’s a consumable) when granted. - The post-match scoreboard does not feel very useful at the moment, and just rehashes some of the more obscure stats that can be found by selecting a player and opening their detailed summary. Instead, the scoreboard should show basic information (Name - Score - Kills - Assists - Deaths), with the player’s detailed summary showing other relevant performance information (Average Time Alive - Longest Kill Streak - Damage Done - Player Killed Most - Player Killed Most By). Obviously, this could shift depending on the game mode being played. - The post-match scoreboard also looks awful, with extremely low contrast and no clear divider between teams. Hopefully, this is simply a matter of it not being finished, because it’s genuinely difficult to read, on top of displaying less useful information. - The menu options in the lower right-hand corner of the main menu (Chat, Social, and Options) have low contrast and may be hard to read for some players. - It should be easier to open a player’s Xbox Live profile straight from in-game, either from within a match, the post-match summary, or the Social menu. - There does not appear to be a way to preview an AI’s voice and personality from the customization screen, or at least there wasn’t for me. - I had one major menu issue where attempting to play Bot Slayer would display a “Cancel search” button when no search was being done, while all other options would show “In progress…” (like the Academy). Hitting the “Cancel search” button would not do anything. A full restart was required to fix the issue.Played on Xbox Series X and PC.
The UI looks nice to me, but the response time seems a bit slow or not very fluid.
The white boxes on the menu really seem very invasive and not very visual.
Sometimes when navigating the settings, I would see intermittent white screens that disappeared after exiting the settings. The drivers for my AMD graphics were correct.
In AI customization mode and Sparta armor customization, the icons for selectable items were choppy.
