add an option for a lowered crosshair like in previous halo games. everything else seems fine to me
Edit 4
- There should be a voice demo option for Personalized Ai. - Sidekick needs more ammo, I feel like you get only 1 decent kill before a re-load, which can cost a life when fighting 2 enemies or more. It needs like 3 more bullets I’d say. - The armor select and mod button should be switched for controller. X to equip, and A to mod is a really weird system, and everyone I’ve played with has agreed that A should select/equip the armor, and X should be to add attachments and read lore.
Please Make the S7 Sniper rifle reticle bigger it’s way to small. And please stop FOV from affecting the size of the sniper reticle.

Please do this.
Man, I hate that I did not get an invite for Halo infinite and I have been a loyal Halo-ist from day one. I hope everyone is enjoying the beta, who all were fortunate enough to get an invite,

> […] - This is probably a bug but I completed 4 challenges in one round for a total of 400 XP but got only 300 XP left in the current Battle Pass Rank and 100 XP got lost.[…]
Quoting my previous post to say that this was definitly a bug. Tried that again and the progression worked perfectly with some XP carrying over to the next level.
But I noticed that the only way to activate an XP Boost is through the Battle Pass menu. There should be a way to activate an XP Boost from the main matchmaking screen without the need to navigate three differnt menus just to use a consumable item.
When you are doing custom button layout when you change one button to automatically just replace the other one. For example, If A is jump and Y is reload and I make Y jump, A should Automatically be assigned reload. Things like this.
When looking at different controller configurations (legacy, Green thumb etc) you should just highlight the configuration and it should change. You shouldn’t have to hit a button to see the changes.
When changing the field of view slider you should be taken in game or something, So when you do it it actually SEE the difference.
A better explanation on a lot of the options is also needed.
Overall I find the UI kind of messy looking and sloppily done to be honest.
Oh And not sure if this belongs here but is there any way to turn off the dumb personal AI?? I can’t stand these personal AIs. I find them annoying as heck and I would not want one in my head when I’m in battle!!
With the major focus of development being player-focused model (as stated in various interviews and livestreams), XP boosts expiring in menu (not in game) is not very player-focused. As a player, we expect that our XP boosts can be fully utilized throughout our games, rather than have it expire while we wait for games. Especially for those who are unfortunate enough to be unable to find a game immediately. XP boosts promise less than the allotted time as we must wait for matches to be found, games to fully end, or even waiting for our entire party to be ready.
It would be more player-focused if XP boosts were used only during in-match time. XP boosts could be used to award XP multiplier based on the medals/feats pulled off during the match. In this way, players get the full 30 minutes promised as part of the XP boost.
The UI is honestly one of my least favourite things about Infinite. It’s boring, looks outdated. MCC is the direction the team should go with the UI. This is SciFi game, don’t forget that. A generic minimalistic UI screams early access game.
On PC you need to get rid of the way the menu moves when you move the mouse. That’s just an awful experience to navigate.
I’m not overly fond of the customization UI right now, it feels like it’ll be outdated with the left to right scroll on options like coatings once people gather a bigger collection of them, in general it feels like a lot of elements of the UI are more large & bloated than they should probably be, but for overall functionality it does it’s job fine.
Hello!
I played around 5 hours, mostly in slayer VS. bots, so most of my feedback will be in the ‘bot slayer’ thread!
First of all, I found an annoying bug in the settings.
(If the bug was already reported I apologize, I did not read the 21 previous pages of this thread).
• Some of the options, when disabled or enabled, are not taken into account. Solution is to open the settings, to enable/disable it then disable/enable it AGAIN so that it works. It can happen several times in a session.
Two examples:
> Voice chats are DISABLED, but I can still hear voice chats in game. I had to re-enable voice chat, then re-disable it so that it was truly disabled.
> ‘Mute game when not is focus’ in ENABLED, but I can still hear the audio when the window is not in focus. I had to disable the option, then re-enable it so that it would work.
I also had a lot of issues navigating the menu.
It might be partly because it is a new game, so that obviously it doesn’t feel natural. But honestly, even now it feels very weird.
• For instance, I need to click the ‘battle pass’ button to access the ‘challenges’. I get that challenges are somehow linked to battle pass, but I would expect two separate panels, so that I could view my challenges without passing through the battle pass thing.
• I don’t really like the way the spartan customization menu looks like. I think I preferred a vertical list of armor elements rather than horizontal. It is also very weird that clicking or double-clicking an element doesn’t equip it. If I’m correct, I need to tick a box to equip a armor part, and it feels a little tedious.
In general, I found the navigation in the menus very tedious and I am embarrassed because I can hardly say why. The fist thing I did when starting the preview was exploring the menu and I ended up very confused.
I’m sorry for the confused feedback but it is not as easy than feedback for the slayer mode.
Thank you for the preview!
I have a few niggles in general:
-
No option to lower crosshair - No option to move ammo counter to top right - No option to move chat window - Navigating UI feels clunky and sometimes the bindings are visible and sometimes not despite being able to navigate with them e.g. weapons bench overview you can use [ and ] but not shown, it is shown for amour and vehicle bay. Also you can hold left click and move your mouse on vehicles around the rotating area but for weapons and armour you have to do it to the side in undefined areas, feels like you should be able to click between the gun/weapon/armour and the name to rotate but can’t. On PC using an ultrawide:
-
No HUD anchoring - HUD and UI scales weirdly with ultrawides meaning your helmet may not be in view when customising it
I will often get into a lobby only for the lobby to lock me out to the main menu for as far as I can tell no reason.
We need an indicator for what is new in the custom menu. I want too see what new helmet or shoulder I have got from the battle pass.
My biggest gripe so far is the colour system. So you guys removed the classic red vs blue in the name of allowing more customization, which I LIKE! However, the outline and shield effects are too much. It does not feel like I’m shooting at Spartans, it feels like I’m shooting an LED light show mannequin or something. It’s off-putting. Keep the outline thing and the customization in, but please god tone it all down some.
For example, if I see a blue enemy and a purple enemy, I have my enemy colour outlines set to yellow, if me and a teammate are shooting it out with these 2 bots and things get hectic all I see is YELLOW. I cannot determine who I started shooting at, it’s kind of horrible and way overdone. So yeah, I think I got my point across? Please let us have a red vs blue option or fix this as its really really off-putting and distracting. If I started firing at a specific enemy and things get blurred, I should be able to track him with my eyes lol. Not hope and pray that I’m not putting the last half of my clip into another enemy with full shields or that someone else is attacking. Please change this somehow. I can make clips if required but I think the above makes sense.
I love everything so far. One piece of feedback - my number one point of frustration is not having a way to gain XP for the battle pass outside of challenges. Once you knock out all the weekly challenges, progress on the pass really slows down. I imagine that this will be ameliorated with different challenges, longer challenges, etc after launch, but it feels like I should be getting XP per game, and have challenges be a longer burn with a big XP reward. Otherwise, things look great. Sidekick is awesome
While I find the main menu UI visually pleasing, I don’t like the customization menu.
Everything feels boxy, opening a menu to a big ugly list that (will eventually) go on for days (looking at MCC armor menus too…) is horrible. Same problem that was in Halo 5. I never changed my armor in that because it’s just a horizontal UGLY never ending list. Please, go load that up and find me a specific helmet in reasonable time!
As for in-game hud, can we get the grenade counter from previous games back, why can we not see our entire grenade inventory at a glance, switching nades to see what is equipped kind of sucks. And, if possible, just do what some games do and let us move UI elements to wherever, or turn on and off specific stuff if that’s possible.
Battlepass/Leveling:
•The battlepass is nice but I hope that there is an actual XP level system along side the battlepass. If there isn’t an XP level system it would seem very barren and it would leave a lot of stuff to grind for out of the game.
•I like how the challenges give XP for the battlepass, but I dislike the fact that you can ONLY gain XP from the challenges. I think that you should also get XP from completing matches and for how you performed in that match.
HUD:
•From the HUD all I really want is for more customization because I am not really a fan of where everything is located. For me personally I would like the score to be in the bottom right corner and then I would like the weapons and ammo in the top right. I just think it woul be really nice to be able to customize where each thing goes.
For a side note I haven’t figured out a way to do this yet but it would be nice to be able to see my teammates service tag above their heads instead of just the dot.
I don’t know if this fits here, but in the customization menu, Body & AI - AI Model, BUTLR’s face has glitched and is no longer present in the current build (Version 199229.21.07.20.0001.flt002int)
Not a fan of only progressing through challenges, once you run out, your capped for the day. A few on twitter have brought up a good point about not being able to catch up if you have several battle passes to go through if your a new player and can only earn like maybe 1 level a day. Unless the number of daily challenges increases, once you complete the weekly challenges the xp boosts become fairly useless because depending on the length of the boost you can only get like maybe 2 challenges done with it and that depends on what the challenge you get entails.
Aside from balancing/increasing payouts/number of challenges available, I would say look at MCC’s current system, it’s amazing, the better you play the more xp you earn and completing challenges buffs that up. (Not an MCC thread but if I can throw out here and say the reward for leveling in MCC is, well non existant past the first 100 levels, but I digress at least it gets my monke brain going)
