i don’t know if this goes here but i couldn’t find other forums for the app. If you go to customize, profile, and then voice, it appears that there’s still latin text as a placeholder. also, there’s no way to hear the voice you’re selecting.

this is my first time posting to the community. I wanted to say thank you to 343 for allowing me to participate in my first technical preview/ beta testing.
i really enjoy the game and the improvements i think they are certainly a revival at least for me since halo reach.
the only items i need to bring up are:
- I wish that we could get season pass experience from completing matches in matchmaking ie bot battles. - Items pictures in the shop do not show up most of the time making it difficult to see what i may want to purchase or not. - i think that we Should have access to the consumables menu and the normal shop and customization on all menu pages or locations though out the lobby and other menus.
we should have access to consumables menu from the lobby menu please and have access to the season pass reward items easily from the lobby menu. - Character not being seen in the lobby
Agreed with the UI. Needs more transparency. Should also remove the Get Battle Pass option after I’ve gotten the battle pass or season sub. Probably generic feedback but there you go.
match completion is not granting xp. i don’t know if this is intended but not getting xp for matches kind of invalidates playing the game especially if the player has run out of or is stuck on challenges.
My 7 year old son said about the main menu with your spartan standing there… “It looks like a little kid dressed up in Master Chief’s clothes”. It does. Pull in the character and make them bigger. Have the background change. I love it when you go to the vehicle bays and it’s scrolling through showing weapons and warthogs. Make that in the main page. Just an idea.
Fireteam is not showing up as a separate color. Myself and player in my fireteam only show as team mate color.
ALSO: Where are team mate gamertags/callsigns? Just a blue dot?
I wish that after I die and I’m looking at my player I could hold LT/RT and move LS right or left to watch the camera spin around super fast while I wait to respawn like I can during MCC multiplayer games.
Not that it has a functional purpose but it’s just fun.
The menu system is easy enough to navigate, but I have one thing to add for the quality of life for players quick selection of armor pieces.
I would like to see a quick equip button when viewing the battle pass. If a player unlocks something within the Battle Pass system, an option should be available to equip that item instead of searching for it in the customization menu.
Overall
All items, helmets, skins etc. are listed like they are art of a battle pass, just a long train of junk to slowly go through. have the stuff I already own in a nice, organized list with subcategories. I don’t want that awfully long side scrolling list of junk from halo 5.
The long train of items’ arrows at the end should cycle when i hover over them instead of clicking on the small arrows, this should also go to the next item if i was at the final item.
Why is the control panel accessed by pressing Esc. and why is that not shown on the main menu.
Store
why do I need to go to the store to view the battlepass, should be its own tab.
The store is set up like battlefield V, that’s not a compliment.
The store have a bunch of boxes to pick junk from.
Why not have a store with categories,
- Helmets - shoulders - kneepads - personal ai preview at least 1 ai voice line? (can we also have the option to turn off personal ai, that thing is annoying or just give me one without a voice) - weapon skins - vehicle skins - Bundles (maybe just have the bundles on the main screen)Armor Hall

I should be able to see my entire spartan on the right of the screen while customizing
Rarity should be based on player count using that item / it it hard to get in game. instead of how much it costs.
Rotate spartan on body type?

The entire matches stats should be listed, not just my own and then I have to dig into the after Action report. it should be the opposite. show the whole team then have my individual/ party stats as a separate page

Takes up half of the screen that’s too much space taken up, just have the item i am currently looking at grow larger, see it on my spartan/gun/vehicle and then the rest of the boxes be small.
Sounds
Personal AI is too informative, yes I understand I just picked up a spike grenade, where is the little “SHING” sound effect instead of some goofball yelling at me.
Announcer voice: sounds like there is too much effort to make him sound more futuristic, just play his voice like halo reach/3/2/4 even
AI/bot teammates: the lines they say are not helpful, they say “enemy over there” where is there?
Shield sound is too loud, bring it down a touch.
not really UI but I consider them UI since I’m interfacing with them and I hate it
- The red shield outlines, I understand why you did it, it’s to focus on how people customize their Spartans and a way to nudge “player interaction” with the in game store. - The red shield blocks the needles of the needler its too bright, distracts from weapons’ special impacts. I like the idea of thin red outlines with the classic yellow shields. - Where are the physics in this game, the spear gun thing doesn’t launch people and it’s unfun to use. - needler’s shots just come out of thin air, almost above the gun, looks yucky. - why is there an ADS on the AR it barely zooms in. just ditch it , ADS on the AR is pointless. - I’m unsure how I feel about being able to cool down energy weapons prematurely, it makes sense but I don’t think i like it . same with the human weapons and doing a faster reload on not fully empty mags, I feel the gameplay trade off should always be there but, yes it makes more sense and is more believable - The V70 commando looks like a ripoff gof a gears of war gun, it doesn’t fit and hurts my eyes when playing. why not make a hobbled together DMR that’s now full auto because your a helpless marine and you needed to make due. that’s better lore than , joe shmoe industries on mars made this before the AR, WOOOOOWWW epic. - plasmas pistol is too fat on top, halo reach one has a horn instead of looking like a chunky ball
These are my first impressions, I’m sure I’ll have more in the future.
So MAJOR issue. The infinite insider flight won’t start it boots me to the Xbox store because it says I have to reinstall the insider hub app. And when it did it didn’t even let me join because it had the maintenance error again.
1- Needler sounds aren’t sharp enough… And the supercombine is very very underwhelming. Needs more of an explosion, and a sharper sound.
2- Body is missing when using higher FOV (120) only my legs show up.
3- punch animations show the wrong shadow. Animation shows left arm punching, but shadow shows right when not holding a weapon.
4- sprint speed seems way too slow.
5- I keep getting disconnected after every match on bot slayer.
The white gray color of scoreboad after match is very hard to read.
I’ve, personally, liked the way the UI is but the only thing I can say I found bad was that in settings you get the option to change your outlines & colors. you have your fire team UI color and friendly UI color. When you change the fireteam UI to a different color than what your friendly UI color is, your other fireteam members still have whatever color your friendly UI color is. Just makes it difficult to know which teamate is your friend and stuff like that. It’s not bad id just like to know who my friend is.
In regards to the menu UI as a whole, it seems a little convoluted and potentially difficult to use down the road.
What I like:

The “play, customize, shop” tabs seem fine in how they are laid out and navigated. - The vertical tabs for armor hall, vehicle hall, etc… are very well laid out and I like their placement on the left. - The ability for me to rotate and look at the gun/vehicle models is a great feature. Although I’d love a zoom in. - Everything going on behind the UI is beautiful. I love looking at all the details in the back.What I don’t like:

When going into the armor hall for example the UI changes to a horizontal configuration. The change is fine for the initial armor selection tabs, but when you have to scroll to look at each additional armor piece that time adds up. I feel like 4 seasons down the road with 20-50+ new armor pieces a horizontal arrangement of every chest plate will be pretty annoying to scroll through just to get to what you want. There is a filter system but I’d prefer it be sorted by rarity from the get go with a list of favorites I can select. - When viewing chest armor specifically, the angle at which this is done seems too low to me. I would prefer we get a more straight on angle with the chest of the spartan model. - The horizonal UI, while slightly transparent does block the lower selection of viewing chestplates. - I’d like a way to zoom in close to my spartan and see their armor with no UI in the way. A UI toggle might be nice here.In terms of the battlepass and store

343, thank you for making a battlepass that never expires. I play a lot of destiny 2 and while I love that game, feeling like I have to grind to finish a battlepass so I can get what I paid for before the season ends is something I really don’t enjoy. I’m going to be playing a lot of infinite after experiencing the multiplayer in this flight. Knowing that I can leave and come back whenever I want without wasting money is a huge deal to me. - The layout is simple. items in groups of 2 or 1 with free items in each group of 2. looks like a battlepass and feels like a battlepass. No complaints here.What I don’t like:

While I’m no fan of microtransactions I do love a good store experience, and right now the store UI seems a little bare. I know this is a flight and there are only 4 items available, but there is no filter or search bar which I feel would really come in handy in the future when there are more items available. - Again, I know this is a sampling of the items you’ll offer, but since you took away color customization and replaced it with coatings I’d like to see a greater number of primary and secondary plain color coatings which are free. If we have to pay for blue down the road I really feel like it’s not gonna go over well. - Right now it appears like only challenges grant xp towards the battlepass. If this is your plan down the road, I urge you to reconsider. Having a battlepass that never expires is great! But having a battlepass that is effectively time gated by challenges in an effort to get us to purchase items or battle pass lvl ups does not feel good. The point of a pass that doesn’t expire is that I don’t feel like I have to come back every week if I don’t want to. Having only challenges grant xp means I have to do a weekly challenge each week or I’m behind since daily challenges seem to also disappear after doing them enough. Additionally, during the flight I’ve run out of challenges to do that aren’t “play x matches”. Leveling the while not having challenges available means I am effectively locked at my current level for the day. The majority of our xp can still come from challenges but not making any progress after a match feels pretty bad. I’d ask you to consider adding match completion xp as well.
UPDATE
6- Menu screen flashes white when scrolling down for the first time. Settings or in game menues.
7- assault rifle feels amazing. Please don’t nerf it.
8- Sidekick needs like 1 more bullet in the chamber I feel. I feel like it’s always reloading just 1 shot before the kill.
9- heatwave spread feels really underwhelming. Up and down is good, but needs to be buffed side to side.
10- Sniper is missing the display.
I just tried to buy 2 tier ups for the battle pass and it crashed on the second purchase. Store was fine and didnt do anything weird so far.
UI is overall a bit clustered and i think 343 should try to simplify it more and make it a lot easier to access the different sections.
Sometimes the item previews disappear whenever i want to check them out in the battle pass.
Add a quick equip option for the customization.
Add the ability to rotate body for when you’re customizing your spartan.
It also seems like whenever you click on a armor customization to preview it but you dont equip it, it still shows the previewed item on your spartan you clicked on even though you didnt equip it.
The main things I would like to see
- Being able to see the names of Spartans on both my team and the enemy team. - Earn XP in matches alongside challenges - Have a better audio feedback when getting shot in the back. - A more streamline and straight forward customization that actually updates what you’re looking at rather than using the default model
Sometimes voice actora from different ai will change voice, this has happened to me with fret and butler
You should make an AI bundle with the voices of snoop dog, the rock, Marcus Fenix and Cole train, I would pay a lot for that.
The only thing I want is the ability to move the reticle down like H2-H4. Everything else seems pretty good. Please and thank you.
EDIT: Oh and a Gilbert Gottfried AI voice please. You know he wants money.
