I think some more crazy settings should be added, like reduced gravity or houser speeds. Also, split screen and different modes for training mode should be added
I enjoy training mode, its a good way to warm up before the real match. I haven’t had any issues when I was playing.
I like the training mode only thing I would say is to be able to set a kill limit
Positive:
- Training mode is a excellent feature overall
Suggestions:
- There was some buggy inconsistency about what items i spawned with. I’ll file a bug report if i have time. Often on Behemoth i would spawn without any equipment despite having selected it in the training options menu, and despite Lumu declaring that i had equipment.
- It would be nice if the scoreboard (toggled via the View/Back button on Xbox One) showed your session K/D, KDA, team kills, or similar stats.
Feature Request:
- Higher bot maximums. I’d like to be able to spawn X-1 enemies, where X is 8 for Live Fire, 24 for Fragmentation, etc. Ideally i’d love a menu with a team dropdown or selector for each bot, so i can put 11 on team A, 11 on team B, and 1 on team C. This could be similar to team color selection in MCC custom games, or the Versus menu in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
Pros
-
I absolutely love Training Mode, it’s been so much fun to hop into the game to fight against bots and to change the difficulty to set the challenge based on how I feel like playing whether it be full on sweat or just “ha ha point click brrrr” - It’s great how I can turn off the bots if I just feel like exploring the map, it really helps me to learn the maps faster rather than trying to learn while having a team fo 4-6 enemies just gunning me down, and gives me a lot of time to practice with the grapple for optimal movement!
Wish List -
Wish I could do Training Mode with friends to be able to mess around with weapons tomorrow and practice plays together - I’d love to see this as a mode for Custom Games for similar to the above reason but to have 2 teams play against each other with essentially god mode in being able to just grant ourselves whatever weapons and equipment and just go all out against each other - Would love to have the ability to spawn vehicles or change their spawn settings in maps that have vehicle spawns in them (although I’d love to drive a Mongoose around Bazaar)
I like it pretty much, but, idk if it gonna have it at launch, but training with objective match would make it more fun and enjoyable than just lear to shoot. Beside that, I’m very happy with the game and how it plays. Those Spartans with Spartan level are very tough. My steelbook edition is on the way!
Training vs bots should keep some stats… a running K/D ratio so we can guage the effectiveness of our sessions. It was hard for me to quantify at times.
As others have mentioned earlier, I think the addition of the scoreboard is a (hopefully?) easy enough quality of life addition to this mode, as we see our score being tracked whilst getting kills but have no way to view the tally.
Maybe a gamemode ala “Operations” mode in Battlefield?
It’s like the total control mode, but when a team has all the control points, the actual points move closer to the team that loses the control.
- There is like 3-5 positions in the map for the 3 control zones. - The closer to a enemy base the control zones are, the tougher it gets for the attacking team, and, - if all control zones are controlled, the enemy base get attacked and the team that is attacking has a limited number of lives (like 50-100) - If the defending team manages to drain all the enemy life’s before their base is captured, the control zones get pushed back and they have another chance. - If their base is controlled, is game over. Also respawning near your “4 team squadron “ will be great
edit:wrong Post, this should be on the BTB Post, sorry
You guys should extend the flight beta, so the people who didn’t finish the grinding due to work and other things, can have another chance at playing
Some of the weapon drills are really unfair. Bots move too far aways of the shotguns range, and sometimes Bot movement won’t allow Needler Shards to be stuck on bots. The other ones are pretty fair in my eyes, only the Bulldog and Needler drills get a huge difficulty spike.
This training mode is fantastic! In Reach a large reason why I became competant in using the sniper rifle was through playing firefight and focusing on elites and taking no scope or hard scope headshots (when the situation called for it). I set myself to invulnearble and practice moving around, tracking shots and everything. It made me better.
This training mode, although smaller in scale is perfect for recreating this experience, but at the same time better because you can change all the settings around inside the game. I would go a bit deeper with the customization and perhaps add the ability to change the bot weapons too or to make them standard or random. I would wanted if you can change the game mode too to practice those mechanics. Or adjust the number of bots to more than 4, but to BTB 12.
The ability to play with and alter the entire sandbox is fantastic and it’s a great way to practice without feeling the negative effects of being trashed by actual human players. During the down times of the MP this last weekend I found myself practicing on God mode with the pistol which was a gun I found I was consistently being killed with in MP. I realized I needed to be better with it if i were to continue being competatitve. If I understood how that gun worked better, I would understand how to play against it better too. I did this also for many of the other guns I hadn’t found on maps or used in battle. It’s an excellent practice battleground and the bot levels I found very appropriate and the AI was quite good at being able to replicate actual humans.
This is a great addition to the game and I can only hope it can improve and expand more of the sandbox when more of those things are available.
This is feedback on the single player bot arena in the Halo infinite flight #2.
I think that the single player bot training mode was something that I’ve long awaited to see in a Halo game. I’m glad to finally see it even if it is just an infinite slayer mach. I do think if you added a timed or traditional Slayer/CTF/Control Points but with only you and bots it would be a great addition, something that I’m expecting that you are already planning on adding.
Bugs I found
- At the bottom of the map Live Fire at the intersection where the tunnel leads to the big sign and runs into the garage section the bots seem to get stuck and confused. I encountered this during the first part of the second flight so I’m not sure if it was fixed or not. - In the early minutes of the match during the single player bot arenas If you pick up a weapon on the map the setting in the menu will change to that weapon and you will then always start with that weapon.Other than that I didn’t experience any bugs with the singleplayer bot arena.
The only issue I had was that all your loadout settings will default if try changing them while respawning everything else was great.
Awesome addition to halo! I would like to see score limits and game modes added to it.
Big fan of the training mode, but have a few observations:
- Had some issues where all the bot players would occasionally go AWOL for a period of time (between maybe 60 seconds and never seemingly coming back), like they’d gone out for lunch. Once happened at the start of a game, but usually after a modest duration of playing (maybe 15-20 minutes). Happened on both the Bazaar and Live Fire maps…didn’t seem to occur on the others. - As mentioned by others, we had some issues with the bots gathering and just stuttering in place. For us it generally happened on the Behemoth map, generally around weapons collection/respawn points. Getting close seemed to get them moving in most instances. - Would like to see some way to adjust your own teams cohesiveness. Currently the bots on your own team charge off and don’t act like team mates…they don’t get in vehicles, they don’t rally when you’re getting swamped, they just play like individuals without a cause. It’d be good to have a sliding scale of Halo 5 levels of help to zero help (which is pretty much as it runs now) to adjust how the training mode plays. - Feel like frag grenades aren’t as effective as they should be. From a scaling perspective, a charged plasma pistol shot has the same effectiveness as a frag (i.e. drops a fully healthy opponents shield), which doesn’t seem right…to me anyway. Feel if you’re standing next to a frag, you should be dead when it detonates. But praps this is how it usually works in multiplayer (we usually just co-op campaign) - Feel the effectiveness of the battle rifle, assault rifle and pistol are on point. Also loving the new Ravager and Bulldog, which again, for our palate, seem to be appropriately scaled in terms of effectiveness. - Appreciated the ability to melee from further out than previous versions. Took some getting used to (early sessions were getting constantly smoked when trying to melee), but in the end we preferred to the older versions. - Love the grappling hook and the way you can manipulate yourself through the air. Also like that it has a limited number of shots and can be changed with other gear. - Love the shield sounds - Love that running was retained
Really love the idea of the Training Mode. Straightforward feedback:
- Agree on scoreboards. Would also be nice to be able to run with different modes (ctf, strongholds, oddball) as well as FFA - Agree on bot helpfulness scalability. Sometimes you need to prep for playing lone wolf, but other times want to see what it’s like when you are doing a coordinated map run or have teammates that care. - Agree on being able to play this mode with friends. Obviously huge advantage for team tactics exploration. - Loadout options reset every time I access the menu, feels like a glitch. Should remain to my last settings so I only change what I want, not have to input everything again. - After first death I would no longer receive the equipment, as others have mentioned. - Hope to see this available on all maps and game types along with vehicles. Would love to get some practice on flying vehicles as I feel like it’s rare to get in one on matchmaking. Thanks for making this available to us, the flighting and feedback
this game mode is amazing, achieve your goal perfectly
Bots didn’t get in my warthog when I honked
I enjoy this mode a lot! It really is helpful for map learning and practicing my shots, and bettering myself with weapons. Some improvements I would like to see are as follows:
- Bots use vehicles/interact with objectives better - Scoring, kill count, medals obtained during session - Descriptions for the options you provided. Like, I had no clear idea what “Playfighting” is.
