Infinite Tech Preview – Training Mode

the training mode is just superb, the fact of being able to modify at will the parameters of the game is superb, we can really train is to know the cards, personally, does not change anything.

I’ve encountered an issue where occasionally, whatever weapons/equipment I have selected will reset to whatever I was previously holding. For example, one time I was playing on Behemoth, and I gave myself the Grappleshot with infinite ammo, and everytime I died, it would reset to the default loadout.

  • When entering the training options menu to change bots, all audio gets stuck and loops sfx because the game is paused, very annoying - Unrealistic “spartan” bot behaviour: they feel like they have no bloom because they hit all shots full auto which real players can’t possibly do, they lasersnipe from across the map with an AR?! They stand still for minutes or get stuck on weapon/grenade pads waiting for them to spawn, inhuman target selection: always focus human player even midfight with another bot they’ll snap onto me even when they’re beyond red reticule range or effective range of their weapon - Need scoreboard to track bot kills just as in social arena, maybe a “reset scoreboard” option, after match score screen to see accuracy performance, medals, stats,… - Let me customize bot loadouts and playstyle/behaviour/equipment usage (both friendly and enemy bots) - not every selected option in the bot training option menu registers, maybe something to do with buttons “back” and “resume” both being an option? Does one not apply your changes? If so that’s not intuitive…

I was not able to play it at all, it just kept loading forever in a similar way to when multiplayer is not disponible.

I got off playing training mode, and I don’t know why this isn’t in any other multiplayer shooter. Aside from just shooting bots, it’s awesome to find secret places in the map without being distracted, or finding where the power weapons spawn

Just encountered a bug on Bazaar training mode, with Spartan bots. Started with the BR and AR, switched to BR and rockets. Died and respawned back with a BR and rockets again

It’s great I had more fun in there than the SOCIAL playlist the bots were a bit buggy at times getting stuck in rooms together and that happened often, apart from that I think you should be able to play training mode with friends

I like the Training Mode on this. There are few things that needs to be improved. The Multikill awards on the Training Mode is completely different from when I play online. Whenever I use the rockets on Bazaar or the hammer in Recharge, they award the multikill when its done all at once rather than getting it within a certain number of seconds (like in Halo 5 or other Halos). However the multiplayer, it doesn’t happen. Is there a way to make it similar to the online experience?

Another thing that came to mind was there there was not post training mode report to see the progress and medals earned. In the multiplayer, you get to see those post game reports(medals, accuracy, etc.). Can that be included?

Also, can there be more training mode options for when are objectives?

Liking the progress of the game so far.

Bots can’t use vehicles.
Maybe they should work like marine in campaign

  • When on Behemoth in training mode. Equipment selected by the player in options will disappear if player falls off the map. - When the Warthog is destroyed on Behemoth, rather than being forced out on vehicle death, the player will be remain in the vehicle if on the Warthog turret. - Bots on Behemoth will get stuck in place in the middle of the map while looking for the player - Screen flashes when you scroll through the options in training mode. - When changing bot difficulty your primary weapon sometimes changes back to the AR

Separate options for infinite ammo, infinite grenades, and infinite equipment charges instead of them being under on option. Also the option to remove/modify the cool downs for equipment.

I forgot to mention this on my OP.

Is there a way to include friends in the training mode where they join before (in the main menu) or during the training match by invite? I tried doing that with a friend and wouldn’t allow us to use the training mode. It only allows one player.

Training Mode:

  • Would like to see different game modes available to play with the bots. Would be great if all PvP type modes could be played in Training mode. - Would like to be able to set max kill limit and/or time limit so that it plays like a match with an ending and a winner, with a post match summary/score board. - Would be nice if we could customize the list of weapons or limit which weapons are available for both player and bots during a match, for example allowing us to define a match with pistols only or shock rifles only, or all weapons except weapon x, etc. - Would be great if we could host our own in-game Training Mode server so our friends could join us to play on same team against the bots (humans -vs- bots, PvE). - Might be cool to add a small jet-pack, that you wear on your back to traverse the map with (as a vehicle type that spawns on vehicled maps) - Bots getting stuck at times with animated movements but not going anywhere - Bots need to use the vehicles, they are not currently using themAs an old school fps player from 1994 who comes from the old Quake & Unreal Tournament franchises back in the mid to late 1990’s I have to say that while I’m probably a little too old and slow to be playing games like this anymore that I actually really liked playing Halo Infinite for the first time. I tried playing one of the older Halo games once from Steam but removed it after 5 minutes of play time as it just didn’t appeal to me…but Infinite DOES appeal to me. I like the gameplay against the bots (I no longer play PvP games unless there’s a bot mode), the mechanics and also how the weapons feel. The maps, how many, and how well designed they are and how much fun they are (or not) to play on can of course make or break a game like this, so this aspect is yet to be seen… but so far out of the 4 maps shown I liked Bazaar & Behemoth the best.

Pleasantly surprised to see that I enjoyed this and kept wanting to come back to play more each day. It just needs more bot modes to play in and alot of really fun maps to play on. If both of these things are officially planned/announced then I may buy this on release. If there aren’t too many bot modes or maps then I may still end up buying it on sale at some point.

Nice job, guys…thank you for the chance to play test it.

I’m loving training mode with the bots, I’ve been honing my skills and would like to see a custom scoreboard available, from one of the xbox buttons, like a quick scoreboard but with the option to reset it at will, Or lap it so it retains a total kills etc. Perhaps even the option to see what damage or accuracy the weapon selected had delt. Just noticed quickly shooting the sidearm or Ar loads the recoil and diminishes the accuracy and this would help buil memory to control it. But all in all this game is going to absolutely kick butt. We’ll done to everyone involved! Looking forward to next weekends Flight for Big team battle MP.

The Training Mode is awesome, the bots seem to learn how you play and each time you go back in they are a little bit harder to kill because the enemy bots are taking the weapons that I like to get and use and use them against me making me change my style of fighting and they keep getting better at it all the time, I’d say that they are an incredible invaluable resource, GREAT JOB WITH THEM!!! I totally loved it.

Encountering an issue in the training mode where after a while the bots just… disappear? Maybe they were all somewhere on the map but it seemed like my radar either wasn’t working or was just glitching and only showing me people within a few feet of me, but I couldn’t find any of them.

In the training mode, the bots should be able to use vehicles, as players do in multiplayer, to give it a good simulation of multiplayer

The truth is that the training was a lot of fun and it can help your skills when you play both online and offline.

  • add scoring + time limit options. I could definitely see myself losing track of time in real life without these limits! - I LOVE the amount of customization. When Forge launches, I hope we can run Training Mode seamlessly to test out maps.

I believe the Spartan Bots need better vehicle dodging maneuvers, be able to hijack (or more often), and bots should be able to pilot vehicles. I only got grappled to once, and EMPed twice out of my 2 hours driving and slaying, I easily got GRIM REAPER twice just splattering with the Ghost.
