When are we getting Behemoth in the other modes? You guys show it on the live stream and in training mode no less come flight you don’t have and then I learn it not coming out till Sunday and come Sunday it is in Social Arena I play a couple and not once get it. I am not enjoying PvP due to the unbalance issues, it not fun that 80% of the games I am sure I am going against a team of friends or a team that has all mics and are all team players and not a team of glory hounds that I seem to get paired with. Training Mode has been great and I will be sticking to that nd bot arena for the rest of today. And depending on next weekend flight I may just stick to that. Hopefully with a bigger team it will be better.
I would love to see a walkthrough for how to properly set up a controller. Give a live demo for setting dead zones, sensitivity, etc. Will help a lot of new players be able to jump in and be competitive.
Would also love to see a basic “bootcamp” that shows strategies to compete with mid-level players. The idea is to keep the amount of players high for years to come. My experience with Halo 5 (downloaded it and played it for the first time last year) was that I could not compete with all of the high level players in matchmaking. Went back to MCC and was a lot more competitive.
The above will help the newbs not give up on the game immediately after playing a few sweaty matches.
Training Mode is awesome. The customisation options are great.
One thing I would like to see here is a ‘score’ or ‘current streak’ indicator, as opposed to no score indication at all. I know that is not the intention but this would give an idea of the performance of and how long a particular set of weapons has been used.
Also, I think that there should be an option to disable items on the map (and rely solely on the defined loadout)?
Suggestions/Bugs/Improvement Needed :-Add an option to change game mode/edit scoring options. (Practice running flag routes or see where objective points are located).
-Bots should use equipment more(drop wall, grappler etc.)
-Reduce pre-fire for spartan bots, they know exactly where you are coming from and pre-fire you almost before you even come around the corner.
-Bots often found standing still(possibly stuck in a corner).
-Increase follow ability for bots(they should follow other bots or players more closely).
-Have bots assist in areas during power up spawns.
I have a few thoughts about Training Mode
-
I think it is a good way to warm up before jumping into matchmaking. Not to much to add about that. The bots are easy enough to deal with even on Spartan level they are not super overwhelming.
-
Need to have some basic match settings. I got bored with this mode very quickly because there is no investment to try harder. It would be nice to have basic setting for matches such as score limit, time limit, and game mode.
-
Need to be able to set up starting weapons for all bots.
-
It would be nice to select game modes as well because different game modes require different strategies.
-
It would also be nice to join with training match with some friends.
Scoreboard is not working within Training Mode.
I’m on the Xbox One S, if that matters.
Also, I understand that this is a Tech Preview, but it would be great if the finished product had a Carnage Report once you leave the game.
- Bots should react to map pings. They don’t seem to now. - Tone down bot weapon accuracy at higher difficulties. On Spartan difficulty, they laser you with the AR across the map, even way outside red reticle range. - Bots don’t seem to lose accuracy against strafing targets, unlike us mere mortals. - Additional game modes would be neat. - Ability to set the bot weapons.
Bots should be able to enter vehicles. I was playing on behemoth and not one single bot used a vehicle.
I could have read the room wrong, but Spartan bots seem to have crazy accuracy now with AR from halfway across the map. Unlike human players too they don’t start missing when they are under pressure and being hit.
This may be incorrect but I’d like to see them be less accurate when being shot at as that’s what real players are like.
i was randomly banned after sitting in a training lobby AFK for an hour… help please
I love this mode it is so useful for testing weapons and observing maps
Overall, I really like training mode, its been a blast to be able to practice with bots and just learn the game. But anyways, here are my suggestions/feedback:
- Allow you to customize bot loadouts - Change maps through the training options - Option to add a sort of tracer system to grenades and guns, kind of like a debug option (think csgos system) - Random weapon options - Bottomless clip option - Allow you to change what weapons spawn on the map, maybe have a setting like the firefight wave options but for all the weapon boxes. - Live weapon accuracy and kill stats on the side of your screen while you’re playing (would really like this one)
Might have been said already but noticed that bots are getting stuck on grenade and ability points on the floor in training mode. They will glitch out and I even had all of the enemy bots stuck on one. Happens with enemy and friendly bots.
The link seem to be having an issue even though the preview started.

It is a known issue.
I have played training over the last few days. A few observations:
- Have the ability to turn on/off destructible vehicles. If you are wanting to try specific things to see how it works having them break apart even when I have “do not die” on does not help. - If I can use a vehicle, so to should the bots. If I want to practice car jacking then where better to do that then in training with responsive bots. - Have the ability to have the equipment as unlimited. I get it they have a limited use, but again if I want to practice something I do not want to go through the menu every few uses to turn them back on. - As mentioned there are a few dead spots where the bots stick but I would imagine that was heavily reported by now. Nothing like trying a sniper spot and have it setup so you can see all the enemy through walls and they are bunched together in a hallway below ground not moving. - The spartan level is a bit evil, but it may also come down to not playing in a long time and I suck that much.
Overall the experience was a great way to learn the ropes of the game before jumping further in. It would be nice to see some team training in the future so you can test specific capture moves, etc. Great job and I look forward to seeing what comes next!
- I wish there was a way to test grenades in the training area - I wish there was a way to test vehicles in the training area - Maybe a movement challenge? Like scramble as fast as you can up wall, or practice one shotting people with a melee (ninja?)Overall the training challenges are kind of fun but certainty not something the vast majority will spend a lot of time in, which it doesn’t need to be.
I did not run into any technical issues. Ran well.
Bots can’t drive vehicles or even man vehicle turrets?
This game needs more time in the oven. WTAF
The training mode is great. When it’s not time for competitive play, you can pop in and pause at any time.
You can also train certain maps and weapons - especially with the really good bots. Sure, sometimes they acting silly but all in all a huge bonus for Halo!

When going into the menu to switch loadouts etc., the current in-game sounds still play. For example, if a bot is shooting at me and I pause the game to change settings, I hear the shooting sound the whole time I am in the menu.
Graphics: -
Main Menu: when entering/exiting Settings submenu there is a “green flicker/flash” on screen for a brief moment, similar to a signal error - In-Game: our Spartan HAS NO LEGS. When looking down only our shadow on the terrain is visible, along with our footprints on mud and other surfaces but without any leg model/animation like in previous Halo. That was weird**Gameplay:

The intro poses are different for every player. For example if I am doing the boxing intro, my mate may see a different intro pose for my player. This does not make any sense to me. - Player collision is turned off, this is something that’s been part of every previous Halo and we’re losing out on fun buddy jumps and other potential creative plays without it. - Explosion knockback physics are incredibly weak. Halo’s iconic grenade jumps and rocket jumps are no longer possible. These physics effects need to be ramped way up as they’re almost non-existent currently. - The gravity hammer has no gravity effect on the user like in previous Halo games. - Current system to switch Granades type in Training Mode is cumbersome (push Left D-Pad, then have a look on current available granades type and switch Up D-Pad for changing it or Left D-Pad again to keep those in use). I think that just pushing Left D-Pad to cycle between them would be much more easy/intuitive and functional, as it always been and as it seems it already is in Social Slayer 4vs4. Same direct cycling is highly preferrable also in Campaign - Main Menu: The detailed final Score table after a match is not sorting the best players accordingly. E.g. the best player of a team (best score + best K/D/A ratio + best aim etc.) is wrongly put as last of the squad, or randomly in the middle - Covenant weapons feels too weak (personal opinion) - Grenades are too strong. Grenades have a pretty big blast radius, you have a lot of grenades (easily picked up) and you throw them super fast. The combination of these three aspects makes grenades too powerful. - Ghost is hard to maneuver. Turning left and right could be made faster and easier. - Sidekick Pistol aim down sight is weird. AdS for pistols in Halo 5 was way better and looked more realistic. Exception: Leave the Sidekick as is and add in the Magnum with Halo 5 AdSRegion feedback:

With my Series X set in German/Germany there is no English voiceover at all (no Personal AI dialogues, No Narrator, No Spartans chatter, nothing). Just German subtitles - Lots of texts not translated
